Thanks for taking the time to respond... I think it sounds great and I am keen to see how it goes over time !! Do you find it a smoother / rougher engine - quieter or louder, or about the same just different ?
Loved you video... what revs do you use for takeoff/climb and cruise, what is the weight of the installation and is this you're own conversion, belted airpower or someone elses ??
well yeah, its prob at around 5 to 6k rpm there. ive got the same motor in my van but it cant withstand that high of rpm for very long.. and besides. its weird how they choose that engine because it does have very good high end..
@milehigh51 I put a 180 hp lycoming in my C172. lower RPM, less noise, more reliable and 8.5 gph..And after all the mods you had to do to make your engine fit, I probably spent less money. Also the 180 hp is STC'd so I can still use my airplane for commercial use as it is not in the experimental category.
so if i put wings on my s10 can i achieve theses results? LOL

The GM 4.3 V6 is used extensively in marine applications where high throttle settings are similar to aeronautic requirememnts

the engine is a marine engine. aluminum heads & manaafold. Flys much like a C182 but with less fule burn. 10 GPH
would not be a good driver in a car

what was done to the motor? if it has enough power to fly i wonder how great it must be in a car!

Having flown this airplane, I can attest that, well, the airplane is ever so much better than the video!
