this trick would be helpful if your a girls and you have to walk somewhere alone (well only with your dag) if some kidnapper came up to you, you could give your dog the hand signal and scare off the guy. yay for dogs!

Not all growls are negative. My two dogs growl when they're playing., when they're definitely not in a negative frame of mind!

I think as long as you don't put the dog in a negative situation to elicit the growl then it's not going to do any harm.

She growls when she wants a toy that has been put on a particular shelf, she stares at the toy and growls. I clicked her for it and put it on cue. She growls for other reasons too, but I would never click the 'go away' growl as it could increase that behavior.
