I notice that the Syndey character is tough as hell and if I was a character in alias I wouldn't mess with her but she seems to get overpowered by other females on this show where she has to shoot them

After i saw this scene i KNEW, that Merrin was a fantastic actress. Jennifer I knew since the beginning.

To those comparing this to the Bourne Ultimatum fight scenes, read the description. The uploader said this is "one of the best fight scenes he's ever seen on TELEVISION." "Television" being the operative word here. Of course the fight scenes in any of the Bourne films are better (or even the one in Kill Bill vol. 1), because the choreographers had more creative freedom. Remember: This was a scene on NETWORK television. To think that they actually accomplished something of this quality is..WOAH!

The best fight ever. That includes TV AND movies! There are 2 things that I especially love about it. 1) I love how long and brutal it is and 2) the sound fx was truly awesome. The sound effects of every glass breaking, ect. It's truly epic. Best sound fx job I've ever heard.

This was an awesome fight scene, so gritty and realistic, no fancy crap that wouldn't work in real life, as proved when Francie grabs Syd's attempt at a jumping kick & just ploughs her into the mirror.

Totally agreed.. and since this episode aired in May 2003, Kill Bill Vol. 1 Oct. 2003, and Vol.2 in 2004, Quentin Tarantino's totally copied it! But then again, all of the fight scenes are very raw and real (same as in the trailer)

Plus he even guest starred and spoke of how much he was a fan, so total copy cat.

i had the luck to get to visit the set when they did this fight and it was so great to watch. Merrin and Jennifer were awesome - throwing themselves around like that! and they were really nice (as was JJ Abrams and Jesse Alexander who took me on a little tour of all the shoot locations). i even got to see the SD6 set before they tore it down!

They were more like the original Star Trek fights as oppose to martial arts fights that you see in Walker TX Ranger, The Matrix or even Bourne Identity.

24 is better because the fight scenes are all down-and-dirty like in Die Hard

Alias is more spectacular.

24 is more real with dirty shots. (Camera wise) Don't mean this in a bad way, cause a love the show.

Now that I've (finally) completed watching Season 2 on DVD I can watch this and respond. This was a great scene both in style and psychologically. Poor Sydney barely has time to mourn her (obviously) dead friend before she is forced to literally fight and "kill" someone with her image. Such an emotionally charged roller coaster scene. Very freaky.

You know... this is a brutal fight scene for Jennifer Garner's character... but it's nothing compared to her fight scene in The Kingdom. Anyone who has seen that movie knows what I'm talking about. It's a much shorter fight scene... maybe 45 seconds long... but it's a LOT more realistic/true to life and grimmer.

Francine won the fight but didn't finish her. If she had continued the attack while Sydney was down, she could have avoided the perforated chest. Why are the bad guys always so stupid?

TomBurgos, this episode aired months before Kill Bill was released. QT is a huge "Alias" fan (he guest-starred on the show several times)...it's much more likely that he referenced the show when filming some of the Kill Bill fights.

I don't know why everyone says Buffy and Faith's fight was better. Don't get me wrong I'm a fan of it but this one is better and not so much in cool looking moves but it just looked more realistic. B and F's looked too choreographed to be a real fight between two enemies.
