It must have taken you forever to do that stick. I just made a lathe copier that uses a router to do the cutting instead of the old chisels. Hope you check out my video's to see it. Look under floating Router for lathe. Great vid by the way. Awesome job making that huge lathe!
creative but at that size paramedics won't be able to save you should something go wrong, even with protective gear, you'll need a high impact splash shield. BAM there goes more than your eye.
I like that lathe what's getting me is how in hell did you use that big ass tractor to turn it? I can dig it on the revolutions, because you can't turn a piece that big to fast.
Thanks for the comment, it was just a rough contraption, but yes it should have had a bench height , i didnt think of that at the time as it was a bit of an experiment but the mark 2 version definately will have bench height
that is just badass, to bad no video

With the tools being used it is like trying to dig a grave with a needle.
I wonder how he managed after ONLY 6 hours.
Together with the column I am sure he got a bad, aching back as bonus at the end!

Larch is one of the most durable out-door timbers similar properties to cedar.

The tractor has a power take off outlet which the drive shaft is connected to , this turns the log. It only uses a fraction of the tractors power.
