@CRAWROCKS Kiss is Kiss with or without ace... But they wouldnt have been kiss without ace.... Personaly i think Bruce and ACE is the only guitarists for kiss... But they will wtill be kiss. Ace frehley designed the makeup, wrote many songs and mostly important he was like a chain with the others... But kiss is still kiss without him... But ace is more ace... way heavier music from ace (acctualy likes the kiss material better) But well ace is the best guitarist in the world... No boubt!!!
gene came up with the bass line on the subway going to queens and stole the riff from Rolling stones "bitch" to make the guitar riff. The only thing ace contributed was all the lead work.
I don't know what the true story is. As a long time fan of 30+ years now, I always thought Gene wrote it because it says so on every recording of it. However, Gene has lied so many times over the years that it might just be true that Ace wrote it. Paul has also taken credit for designing the Kiss logo when we all know that Ace did that too.
Gene wrote it, at the time Ace wasnt in kiss, first Gene and Paul met, at Genes friends house, and they were both in bands. But when they got the idea to start a band they quit their own bands and startet to look for 2 more members. They found Pete in a music magazine, and when he joined they wrote all the songs to the first album. When they were finished, they started to audition for a solo guitarist. Kiss is nothing without Ace. So many bad things were said about him over the years. But now.... the true rock and roll god we always knew him to be rises out of the ashes like a phoenix. Recovery has done nothing but good for him. He's the man!!! great vid.

Gene wrote it before Ace joined the band. Duece was the song Gene and Paul had Ace play to as part of his audition.
