Very well done. I had the pleasure of visiting Hialeah in the early 70's. It remains the most beautiful track that I've ever seen. So sad that the 'Sport of Kings'
Nice video just went today to hialeah park and the horses were all beautiful especially the race track itself it was also awesome to win $17.50 betting too.
I live near the racetrack and when the stables were taken down I cried...that was one of my first memories as a kid..riding by the racetrack and seeing the horses in the stable..its so depressing to pass it now it almost hurts
My father works in Hialeah as a firefighter, and used to work out there as a paramedic. He took me there and i was so upset, i cried, and at one point, the plaques of florida derby winners were being pulled off by some carefree people. I was so mad,now that I have seen it all, it hurts to know its almost gone. I cry everytime i pass it.
I agree. I work near by, and every time I pass the gates, it makes me want to cry. Its so sad to see what it was, and to see now what it is!! Its a real shame.
SNOWY7443, I hope that Halsey Minor can convince John Brunetti to sell. Brunetti could have saved Hialeah if he weren't so greedy. In the early 1980's Hialeah had a chance to get it's choice dates for a lifetime, if they would cut their racing days from 50 to 40. Brunetti said no.
I live in Hialeah and I'm with Save Hialeah Park. This video is great. We are working hard to get it back. This Monday Hialeah Park got its racing permit back, but for quarter racing. Hopefully this would be the start of the rebuild of Most Beautiful Race Track in the World.

has taken a similar plight.

Umm, what are you guys complaining about? They are in the making of restoring and opening up Hialeah Park again, including the race track.

I worked there in the winter of 1991-92.
By then it was already headed downhill, yet still extremely beautiful.
It makes me want to cry.
The Marlins want tax help to build one of those soulless new ballparks with $20 parking and $9 beer....
Meanwhile, a showcase for the world sits idly by and rots. Whatever happened to this country?
