Youtube is fabulous and to all of you who post this wonderful music for all of us to enjoy - thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. This song like so many others, was my favorite when I was a little girl. I had older brothers who played this music and I grew up experiencing wonderful music.
A year ago, this great song was sent to me by a nice guy from FaceBook. That was the first time I heard Ms. Della Reese's voice. Now, I do love her and now I am a big fan. Thanks for sharing. Thanks Mr. PEC for the great song! Love it! merci!
Growing up as a kid in the '90s, I only knew Della Reese from that show "Touched by an Angel". I had no idea she could sing; then one night, I saw her on one of those late-night infomercials for a pop standards CD collection, belting this song. It has been a favorite ever since and I ended up getting that collection, which exposed me to other amazing artists I'd never heard of before (Johnnie Ray, Frankie Laine, Jo Stafford, etc.) Greatest music ever made, if you ask me. Absolutely timeless!
A most beautiful rendidtion of a great song from a great opera as sung by the beautiful Miss DELLA REESE! I remember this song when I was just a little boy,and it sounds just as good to me now as it did then.
In the summer of 1962 I lived with my aunt. She had two records, this was one of them. I played them over and over. In 1980 my husband was also operated on at University Hospital in London, Ontario. Dr. Drake was fantastic. Thank you, Della, for all they work you've done for them. When I hear this song, I cry. It's so beautiful.
I've always liked this song and Della does it so well, great vibrato control right through the very last note. Thank you so much, and thank you, Della, for a song which has a very honest, expressive quality to it.
my daddy loved this song, he had it as a seven single back in the day, wish I could remember what was on the flipside. he's dead now, bless him and me.
@777Sunman777 I have actually been meaning to post that song, alongside a couple of other ones too. But I've been having some technical issues lately, but I will have them up just as soon as possible.
Oh, I l-o-v-e it ; have tried to find her fabulous interpretation of ' Rome Adventure' - from 1962 movie of same title but don't think it has ever been downloaded on the Net yet. Any suggestions on where to find it ? Thank you.
One of my all-time favorite oldies..........Based from Puccini's Musettas Waltz featured in the opera "La Boheme"..........."Don't you know........I have fallen in love with you........for the rest of my whole life through..........". Very nostalgic.......used to sing this in front of our big mirror when I was a kid.
This song is so good and brings back so many memories from the past it makes me want to go back in time and live that erra all over again and maybe do things a little different. When she sings this song she really gives the feeling that she means every word she sang. What a powerful and romantic voice. Joe
@Joeygeegiannunzio hello joe i saw della reese live at the robert q. lewis variety show on the cbs radio network in manhattan nyc in 1958 at age 13 when radio networks had quality programs. people lived to a higher standard then until rock and roll music finally took over and subverted the youth and then the drugged hippies ROGHARM love della and love the record disney has della singing in that's so raven and she is still great!!!!!!!!ROGHARM
Were he still alive, Marshall McLuhan would likely be remarking that the principal contribution this medium is making is to reveal the enormous percentage of even sophisticated Internet users who have yearned to have a voice that, upon having it handed to them, they fail to use intelligently.
I think that what melove means is that he is annoyed at having been left out of the loop and hopes to regain lost ground by telling us that he now knows what he hopes others also just learned.
@John2137 She is a wonderful Lady with a beautiful voice , it happens she has an obscure tone of voice but she is fantastic¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ unfortunately irrepetetible
