Although this song was dedicated to NEU! always sounded to me more like a La Düsseldorf song,...in particular to "Zeit" (time) from the 1976 first "la düsseldorf " album... great song of Andy and Paul anyway...
i love how the guys in the band have always said that they had "writer's block" when they were making Dazzle Ships, and then you hear absolutely gorgeous songs like this from the same sessions... if this is writers block, i never want to make another song ever again.
@Boxcutterfacelift Yes totally. They only had writers block in the sense that an album that only has 7 songs on it has no right being called an album-all they needed was 1 more & they had that in this. Though I must say it bothers me why the only ever made one album with 10 songs max. All the rest had far less, especially frustrating when you consider they could have put on some so-called extended versions of the singles rather than the short ones. The 'Pacific Age' suffered from writers bloc!
No one like OMD express the feelings of music this is a pop classical music made up above for those who believe in love an so love music... forever OMD
Simple but so sublime. Lying in bed listening to the remastered Dazzle Ships on headphones in the dark, I could imagine him singing this to me. Thanks for posting, Inga :=) D

this song by omd is so evocative and melancholic but wholly enchanting to listen to and i bet andy can sway and dance to this as well.
