The aircraft shuddering is a symptom of a classic stall. Even I know to push the stick forward and apply thrust. How could this happen to a supposedly experienced Captain? There's not much more basic than a stall in a plane. It doesn't get more simple than that. I don't understand how this could have happened unless the pilot had some sort of anxiety attack during the emergency. This is a basic basic BASIC thing.
it's sooo sad when there's little kids on the planes :( Not that anyone should have to face death in such a horrific and terrifying manner, but it's especially awful to watch the children being so scared. And their poor parents too, I can't imagine how they feel, just trapped and not able to do anything to protect their children.
it is not easy to say want you should do if you were instead of the pilots.. but that doen't remove the blame. after all 70% of the crashes are human error ;[ I STILL can not understand want when wrong in the pilots' head. no one of them said anything.... r.i.p. to all victims;[ then they confuse the good air speed indicator and think both are wrong.
I swear to god this pilots are completely ignorant and inexperienced..... how could you say 'what am i to do now when you are the pilot' they could have saved the plane and all the passengers if the pushed down on the stick to push the plane in a downwards position so that airflow increases on the wings generating lift which would have pulled out of the stall..i know this and i am not even a pilot but a 10th grade student in high school that plays flight simulator x.
@distractos Pilots nowdays are not pilots anymore, but autopilots made of meat. They can only work based on the programming they receive at "training".
And the requirements for becoming a pilot only worsen the problem. Instead of taking skill and instinct on account, they mostly care about degrees.
Robin Olds didn't need an engineering degree to become a fighter ace.
@distractos As an avid FSX pilot myself, I was thinking the same thing from the second I saw it. I thought to myself when he said both AS indicators were wrong that no, one was right and that the stick shaker was right and to put the nose down. Don't knock FSX; it's not as unrealistic as people think. But then again, it's far easier to fly when you can hit pause, and the worse thing that can happen is you end up having to take off again from where you started versus dying.
Tragic, could've been avoid. It seems quite correctly the flight crew wanted to go home after being away, stranded for 2 weeks. The junior pilots had good suggestions, however, due to cultural difference, they dare not take over from the ''boss'' All the flight crew was really not a team, but they were skilled, especially the captain.
That was crazy with all the warnings going off in such a short notice. 20/20 hindsight the pilot should have aborted, but not everything is that simple. The captain may have had his reasons for taking off. Even then, when a stall and overspeed warnings all kick off, mass confusion ensues. It all happened too quickly to accurately say what was the right thing to do. Other pilots failed in the simulator under the same circumstances. Tragic.
I would've thought stick shaker would make any pilot instinctively point the nose of the plane down, but I guess instinct is overridden by confusion from the conflicting warnings. Always sad to lose experienced pilots and so many innocent lives, but at least now pilots are trained for this occurrence and the autopilot has been reprogrammed to deal with it.
Hahahaha.... as soon as a boeing plane crashes USA send out a "investigation team" that has the only job to prove that the crash is the pilots or the airlines faults.
@tkddus1243 if air plane is over pitch, put engine to full power would not help much
becuase air plane engine needs air(Oxygen) to combustion, it's simply not enough air for engine
correctly respond to stickshake is to put nose down so it'll gain speed from gravity and engine will also gain enough air to give more thrust (as it show in the episode, all expert suggest the same way)

The pilots should abort taking off when they found there was a problem on the air speed indicator

The stickshaker is going off...
The plane is dropping like a rock...
THAT MEANS A GOD DAMN STALL. Nose down and increase power! Tell the overspeed to go bone itself!

Unbelievable that such a small insect could make so much damage.

The senior pilot was an idiot. During takeoff it should have been obvious to him that his speed reading was wrong and that of the co-pilot was right.

@schizophrantic There is a human factor also. If you were in such situation would you be able to keep yourself calm and act correctly?
mercede75 3 months ago in playlist More videos from Airflyer05Videos
@mercede75 I wouldn't even be in that situation knowing the correct takeoff speed of the plane I'm flying and recognizing my speed dial isn't right.

I thought that this disaster wouldn't have happened if the pilots sped up

The pilots should have given full power to the engines straight after the stickshaker activated. They did not commence this action too late
tkddus1243 8 months ago 7
@tkddus1243
absolutely right..
every pilot knew stickshaker mean imminent stall.
beside they just take off mean they need more speed

@tkddus1243 That would have just caused nose to rise even more and plane to stall. Pilots should have pulled nose down.
