Blackwater is cheaper than training, equiping, and deploying more soldiers. Also due to the worlds view on contractors, if one dies, its not as much of a headache to our goverment. Thats the politicians view. Most blackwater employees are retired military, they've been trained by the goverment, served honorably, got out, and went to a job that they enjoyed and already new well. To call them killers and greedy is to call every military member in service the same thing.
The video completely paints them as killers, but what they fail to recognize is that among any group of people fielded in a high stress combative environment, collateral damage will occur.
The Army soldier (I'm presuming) quoted in the video, is not telling you that the same situations occur with soldiers more often. The BW people are former military with combat experience, and less mistake prone than regular Army forces. As such they are a safer solution politically and for the Iraqi people

Actually sir, I am a former Navy SEAL and I was stationed in Iraq.
I eventually went AWOL and never saw combat, but fellow soldiers talked about the crimes committed by our brothers and "shadows."
These crimes are quite common during war. Each war has a long list of unspeakable actions. And for you to claim they do not exist, simply because you weren't there to see it or because no one will come forward, is beyond asinine.

The biggest problem I see with all this is how they can basically do what they want and dont answer to anyone. Blackwater is cheaper than training, equiping, and deploying more soldiers. Also due to the worlds view on contractors, if one dies, its not as much of a headache to our goverment. Thats the politicians view. Most blackwater employees are retired military, they've been trained by the goverment, served honorably, got out, and went to a job that they enjoyed and already new well. To call them killers and greedy is to call every military member in service the same thing.

The video completely paints them as killers, but what they fail to recognize is that among any group of people fielded in a high stress combative environment, collateral damage will occur.
The Army soldier (I'm presuming) quoted in the video, is not telling you that the same situations occur with soldiers more often. The BW people are former military with combat experience, and less mistake prone than regular Army forces. As such they are a safer solution politically and for the Iraqi people

CSharpGuy2006, did you see any face of the head choppers? Osama doesn't cover his face. Long ago people in the know were saying that Blackwater did the killing to spur on the war and to quell any competition from outsiders. After all it is they alone who profit as the war goes on.

I find it rather troubling and I believe Americans should take warning. If our leaders are going to go outside the confines of the Governing Peoples and hire killers for hire as a private army who's to say they won't be turned on us? If and when we as the public have had enough of President Bush's behaviors?
