i currently bred out of a fairly distant relative of his!!!
sadly i cant keep all the foals but they sell pretty quick being related to him and all(there is a sweet 2 year old filly who looks a lot like him!...shes for sale though...)
i know what breeding he was as my instructer owned his mother and chose the stalion her self he is a dutchwarmblood he was 16.2 and he flew over everything, he was a little bugger to break in LOL he just jumped in and out the schools. everyone miss' him he was a true show jumping legend! RIP big lad everyone wishes you were still hear <3
@finelittlefilly - Milton had 8 or more different types of Blood - Thoroughbred ( a lot) - Trakehner - Dutch Warmblood - AngloArabian TB (where he gets his Grey colour from) - Shagya Arab - East Prussia - Oldenburg and Irish Draught.
Of the Thoroughbred blood this inc. such Top sires as:
The Tetrarch, grey "spotted wonder", (also in Cruising's (ISH) breeding)
showjmping is very beautiful to watch, as is every equestrian sport - seeing the horse and rider working together is breathtaking. But there is just something speacial about Milton - thumbs up if you agree?
Who cares of his blood? Horses need more than good blood to be so amazing like him. It´s a pity he was a gelding, if he was a stallion I would love to see one of his foals. :D Well, Milton is newborn, and his name is Levisto Z. Another white german show jumping horse with a really amazing character. x3
Milton was a Trakehner (German) gelding.show jumping stallion the Dutch bred Marius out of an English mare Aston Answer (by Any Questions), who had competed at Grade A national level and who herself was out of a show jumping mare Pennywort (1970 Foxhunter Champion) by Top Walk.
he was bred to jump and wond over 1 million dollars in his career
Think he's a Connemara/ thoroughbred/ Irish draught cross - f. knows how the mix was so perfect - maybe the irish draft n the Conemara were mixed with the other half thoroughbred 2 heat it up! n a perfect balance of fine temperament, athlete & durability were created!! He's amazing :-) He seems so lovable 2 n i remember that his real owners who always kept him, really loved him beyond all the money offered n didn't want him 2 fly 2 the Olympics cos they didn't want him 2 fly X
@subimedia - Breeding - look at the All Breed link in description (it's a great site for breeding info) - you will see Milton has Anglo Arab blood and a good bit of Thoroughbred blood (inc. top sires that can be found in jumpers THE TETRARCH ("spotted wonder") and PHALARIS, on his Dam side. Also Miton's Dam was a Grade A jumper and his Grand Dam won the Foxhunter Final. Milton's sire Marius was an international winner with Caroline Bradley r.i.p.
Yes - can c the Anglo Arab in the neck arch & the motion now u mention it. Many yrs ago i used 2 ride a 3/4 Arab & altho he was the clumsiest horse in walk & trot i've ever ridden, once he moved up a gear into canter & beyond, he simply floated & his balance just found its equilibrium. He was a good jumper 2, altho he was only a pony. I remember Marius aswell... just! That was back in the day when they showed showjumping on terestrial T.V. & it was an arena 4 big sponsorship..
(..& I used 2 have pictures of Marius & Caroline Bradley stuck 2 my bedroom wall, over the horse wallpaper.. the days!) Thanx 4 the info. & the link.. & taking me back - much appreciated, altho a little scary when I realise how many great people & horses have passed away & how time's shifting on!! R.I.P. all :-)
@subimedia - sport horse enthusiast's including horseracing, should hear that info (height) from the rider, trainer or owner - I'd guess Milton was 16.2 or 16.3 hh (I dont think he was 17.0)

breeding doesnt matter, all you need is a passion for jumping in their blood, something that runs stronger than life it's self.
