I've never heard this song before. This really had me from the start. From some of the comments here, I got curious to hear the other versions.

I have to say, THIS version is the sweetest to my ear. So much feeling put into it and the simplicity of the music compliments instead of crushing the delicate lyrics.

There isn't very many songs that I've heard that take me like that.

I am the "somebody" in the song. 1973 Paul came to the house in Atlanta to visit jc, his old flame. I had a dream about him which I described to him, near verbatim of the 1st 2 verses, the 3rd & 4th are based on our conversations. He left with his guitar, wrote songs with Roly Salley. jc now has an art studio on the same street in St Pete where John Prine has a house. I like Shawn Colvin's version best which is not on youtube. My arcane & obscure contribution to music history... bc

i dont know who the original composers are but i do know if lesmacman is the original Les Mckeown i just want to tell you how great you sound singing it you still have a super voice and always have one of my biggest dissapointments in life was never seeiing you and or the rollers live in concert :( live in kinston ont canada heard BCR was here some yrs ago but found out too late not sure if les you ? were there would love to see u live still keep smiling that still sweet little boy smile :)
