an active diversion requiring physical exertion and competition ..thats the definition fo sport..ya what you guys do is great and deserves rewards but not a varsity letter because you ARE NOT A SPORT.. its not physical in the least a 150 robot between two or more people is nothing and its for barely three mins. Robotics is not easy I know that and I can respect what you do but what you do is not a sport so therefor you dont deserve a letter
Your definition of sport and the definition in the dictionary are different... and you are entitled to your opinion on whether it is a sport or not.. but who says only sports deserve varsity letters?
@essentialrennat I don't believe that it's a sport, but I don't think that varsity letters should be limited to just sports. I wouldn't mind it if they made a something else for things like academic achievements, and if robotics was in that category. I think that a sport can be defined as "an activity requiring physical exertion that requires skill and physical prowess to be do well". Physical prowess doesn't help in robotics, but trust me, lifting a 200 pound robot with 2 people can be tough.
Is that Hannah's and Andy's voices?
