  • ok.

  • The video might be annoying, but seriously it is meant to be several hours in the life of someone that burns the candles at both ends, seriously, you need to realise that was the intention of the video, as it basically mimics the song itself!!

This is Madness at their very best, amazing songs, about real life, and having a lot of fun whilst they do so.... Madness deserve so much more, as they have NEVER won a Brit award for their music!!! The launch concert for the album was a stunning show!!

  • It's Theon Greyjoy!!!

  • I wasn't going to watch it at all, but it is a fascinating use of a video camera, or rather a western dolly. TIGHT BAND. MUST BE FROM THE UK. We don't hear horns anymore in America, just the sucking sound of the dying dollar...

  • Shitty song. No wonder nobody talks about them today, good ridens!

  • @Ryuuken24 First, it's riddance, and second - one song doesn't determine everything (in other words - try listening to another - Baggy Trousers or One Step Beyond for instance, and if you haven't, then you MUST listen to Our House and It must be love, although i suppose you've heard them already /classics/)

  • @Ryuuken24 @Ryuuken24 First, it's riddance, not ridens, and second - one song doesn't determine everything (in other words - try listening to another - Baggy Trousers or One Step Beyond for instance, and if you haven't, then you MUST listen to Our House and It must be love, although i suppose you've heard them already /classics/)

  • @Ryuuken24 It's "riddance", you stupid fuck.

  • If you like Madness you may like Two Steps Twice , (2 steps twice) check them out on FB and like them if you do?

  • Hehehe @ 2:31 "Fackin' Cunt !!"

  • Hehehe @ 2:32 "Fackin' Cunt !!"

  • Jaime Winstone is so amazing :3

  • aw alfie allen ♥

  • ello martin. ha ha alan

  • 16 people hold the toilet seat around their neck

  • i got this song compied to my mp3, its 6,66 mb o.O

  • Alfie Allen what are you doing to my life omg.

  • Only seriously unbalanced people think videos are REAL.

However, the video is genuinely annoying. It is like being forced to watch several hours in the life of the self-centered idiot you make fun of in a club compressed into 3:38. She's the girl who you date twice and then change your cell number to get away from.... you don't want to know her in real life and you certainly derive no pleasure from watching her as a character in a video.

  • @bobwills66 Shut Up, and enjoy the fucking song :D

  • @bobwills66 I just see a hot chick.

  • Great song and, for the first time ever, a completely irritating Madness video. I wanted to throw a drink into her face LONG before a character in the clip did. What were they thinking?

  • @bobwills66 Protip: It's NOT REAL.

  • This album is brilliant!!!! Very clear return of the Nutty Boy Sound, a mellow throwback..THANK YOU MADTUBE!

  • Great song, wonder who came up with the music video?

  • The chorus, especially the bit about finger painting, makes me think the song is about a terrible mother who parties all the time instead of caring for her kid.

  • I like the little cameo appearance from Chas, Suggs and Bedders at 0.57, great song :)

  • She looks like a typical whore lol

  • Great song from a great album

  • WTF as this video got to do with a woman & Her sextoy.....??

  • MADNESS!

  • I fucking love this song. It's a shame that this isn't ingrained into people's brains, because the ska band that I work with had to ditch this song as it didn't get much of a response. The groove, melodic interest and everything are so tight.

  • What a crap song but what happens to the girl in the vid is fecking great lmfao when she got a drink thrown in her face shame the guy found her again lol

Never liked Madness but to each his own, peps on here wouldn't like what I might listen to!

  • @MacArthurPiper If you don't like a song why watch it just to comment how you don't like it? Madness are true music and if you don't like it don't waste everyone's time by saying you don't like them.

  • @Leahrixxy Just like you have done and loads of other people!!, you don't know until you have watched it!!

And just like you and others have posted a comment that you don't like something!!!

Your wasting peoples time by replying yourself telling me not to reply!! It's called FREE SPEACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MacArthurPiper don't like Madness? Eh!! Are you deaf? Ever genre covered by Madness, what is there not to like.

  • @katoness You can't tell me YOU like every kind of music! every tune! every song!!

I don't like Madness, 16 other people have also clicked that they don't like it!!

  • @MacArthurPiper not every tune and not every song but nearly every genre of music I like. Thats why I like Madness so much, 'cos they experiment with all kinds of music. Those 16 other people may buy beers, but they have no ears!! Cheers!!

  • @katoness I'll not reply to this any more as I really can't stand tyhis poxy song!!

As you say you don't like every tune I can't stand this one!!

  • kool....madness.....great tune!!!!

  • OMGLOLZ :))) funny and touching)))

  • @dashassfrost wow, somebody gets it

  • give me Night Boat to cairo or In The Middle Of The Night

  • 7th of may in Milan...can't wait!

  • It's the Ashley Beedle Warbox vocal mix. :)

  • There is a phenomenal remix of this track on Spotify - the free to use net jukebox.

  • that was 1 of the weirdest videos eva but it was awsome too lol xxx

  • Sounds like The Madness from late 88/89 time.

  • Yeah I know what you mean. Reminded me a bit of Beat the Bride and Call Me

  • Well, it has a certain hit potential. But since I' m a conservative (like Iggy) I like the first album the best: "One step beyond"!

  • @ZLUGGO amen bro!

  • Im thinking Madness now has more in common with The Kinks than with classic ska. I don't know who wrote this, but I believe the Madness songwriting team has proven to be stronger and more classic than originally supposed. - From an American who followed them from 79 on.....

  • madness didnt have much in common with original ska at all apart from the intsruments the style was so different but it was 2tone madness now sucks by there old standards but still they are better than any band in the past 10 years

if you like 1st wave ska listen to skatalites, laurel aitken, bob marley and wailers the latter band is different type of ska than the skatalites(founding fathers of ska) and laurel aitken (godfather of ska)

  • You know that girl is Ray Winstones Daughter and the guy is Lily Allens bro

  • Been a Madness fan since 1980. Love everything theyve ever done. However i still havent seen them live. Anybody any idea where i can check for 2010 tour dates?

  • The internet.

  • I was thinking more recommended ticket sites Jason.

  • mate, you just missed a december tour, they played the whole uk i think. oyu might have to wait a little while now.

  • Excellente musique, mais je ne comprends pas le concept du clip.

  • voll genial

  • what a great song....I just heard it today.

  • album just gone gold deadly

  • I agree brilliant I was listening to them when i lived in Venezuela Right there with Men at work great sound funny title i love that they still making music and Nah that is not Amy W but there is a resemblance specialy when she lites the ciggy the wrong way that probably did happen to Amy W.Music is agelesss

  • Brilliant.

    Album of the year.

  • They have truely nailed this one. Brilliant

  • I don't think the Brits are grateful enough for still having Madness around. The Liberty of Norton Folgate was not listed in Uncut's 150 Greatest Albums of 21st century and wasn't even shortlisted in Q's Best Album of the Year. Few newspapers and magazine *dared* give it five stars.

  • Hi awnplmigo - I'm just reading "Uncut" magazines 50 best albums of the year & Madness are at number 28...xxx take care...xx

  • Thanks for your reply, but, you see, I was talking about the Greatest Albums of 21st Century. I don't believe The Liberty of Norton Folgate would be just the 28th best this year either - if it is, you're in an invredibly good time of music.

Are you a Madness fan? There's one more piece of bad news for you if you are: this album doesn't feature in The Time's 100 Best Pop Albums of the Noughties list. And many of the comments are whining about how bad Noughties has been for music...

  • Hi, Its nice that us fans can chat in this way-Im a big Madness fan & theyre looked upon in GB as a national institution. Are you in the US?If yes,I dont think their sound&the theme of this album would travel well&could perhaps explain its exclusion from mainstream US culture-I think there has been some classic music this century(Arctic Monkeys,Elbow,King of Leon,Doves,Fuck Buttons,Phoenix,Arcade Fire,)I think that we are both music fans&enjoy this album so we should continue to do so.Take care

  • is that jaime winestone?Xx

  • yup

  • GIVE IT TIME

  • hahahah How old are you Sunny ??

  • How old are you sunny ?

  • The Nutty Boys have done it again! Great song!

  • Comment removed

  • What a great tune! Thanx Madness!

  • Forget the moral reasoning - this is just a recounting of what is...make of it what you will. I see an album here that shows you around...it doesn't attempt to make you think anything - you have minds - use them! is what I see here

  • Watch the very very start of the video. She's just sniffed some coke. Just a guess?

  • Presume that explains the 'dust' in the song title, the opening line 'whizz kid' and the request to 'come down'...possibly..?

  • Shut up you cheeky cunt.

  • LOL!

    :-)

  • you've got a remarkable grasp of the obvious champ

  • Good shout

  • Madnesss!!!

  • Glory to Madness!! nice song!

  • any body got a box of zazz? pmsl. love this.

  • GREAT STUFF.

  • am I missing something here.. read a lot of the comments about the vid. nobody mentioned it.

The girls in a wheelchair right?

  • I've met the woman in the video. She's a bitch she is.

  • Comment removed

  • Ray Wilkins would have Ray Winstones. He would skin the fucker and then eat him raw!

  • Madstock was superb. Back to the glory days from The Nutty Boys in triumphant style. Shame that Mercury forgot that The Liberty Of Norton Folgate is easily the best album of 2009. By any signed band in the world. This is the real Madness we're seeing again now. That are nothing short of spectacular.

  • Love this video,Love the entire album!!!!

  • I'm mad for Madness. Excellent album!!!

  • Saw the nutty boys at Vic park too, i wonder if they got their wallet back? Anyway had a top day and a grand finale of Suggs and co.... 24 carat

  • Saw these guys at Vicky Park on 17/07/09

They still have it. Came across really well. Highlight of the night was a wallet thrown at Suggs. Hilarious. He wasn't hurt !!

Thanks for a lovely night x

  • what a cracking tune, still amazing aint they, cant wait to see them friday at madstock:) "If these little fingers could paint you into my picture, they surely would" ....:):)

  • Wow man is that not lily allens brother?

    Alfie

    Anyway great video Top class

  • aye tis he lol

  • Love it ^^

    Cheers .

  • excellent tune from the nutty boys .....looked awesome at glastonbury peace x

  • Great tune! This song should be getting played on the radio rather than cack like Asher Roth and Soulja Boy. Unfortunately radio listings aren't about playing quality music.

  • No offence mate, but shut the f*** up, just cause it's not your taste in music don't mean it's not good, I love Madness and Asher Roth. The Radio players popular music, which means more than enough people think it is good

  • They play what record co's tell them 2 play. They aren't decided by fans. If Asher Roth is so popular why did his album peak at no. 38 on chart, which is poor given the airplay he's been given. If it's about playing music that is popular then why aren't Madness & Iron Maiden on radio, when in last few weeks they've had albums in chart that have peaked way higher than Asher Roth's?

  • VERY good song, and I LO<3 the new album, but the video is so boring because it doesn't have the Nutty Nutty boys.

  • ive got the first 7" that come out, but didnt know this was out.

I remember suggs saying, they found it very hard to write song, to keep the sound fresh. i like madness no matter what they do

  • my dad loved it on his fathers day

  • aaargh... wat is the name for the way that this vid is filmed? i really wanna know how they lock it to the face an body

  • they have an arm connected to her with a camera connected at the end of it

  • yh, i found out its called a SnorriCam..,

  • Great song, fantastic video

  • Ive never heard this one before!!

  • My 7 year old Son loves it...Following in Dad's footsteps"MADNESS" all the way!!!

  • i quite like this : ]

old madness was amazing but sometimes change is good

  • Muy buen disco!!!! very good!!! el concierto en Madrid estuvimuy bueno, SKA SKA SKA!!!

  • too many people wish the new album sounds like the older albums but fact is your too picky !!!!! if you enjoy and love the madness you will truly love this new album and be happy rather than constant judgmental !!!!!

  • Thanks heavy metal guy......... I didn't like the vid at the start.......but after a few watches and the song growing on me......well..... it's great......

  • "Keeps a Gizmo Under Her Pillow"

    O.o Haha

  • Well, it's no "One Step Beyond" or "Our House" but it's a decent enough track. The video could be more interesting though.

  • madness always keeps it fresh......

  • Very catchy song and I like the video! Goes really well I think. Jamie's brilliant in any role of course :P

  • madness always come up with something fresh and catchy. i have a feeling this will be in my head for days

  • Awesome video! :O

  • hope this does well in the charts.

    nutty boys till they die....

  • Love Madness, love the new album but think this o.k track is not the right choice for the first single, any `comeback`album needs a very strong first single,my first choice would be`on the town`followed by`africa` or `forever young`,but hey! welcome back boys,a great effort and we sure do need you.

  • Love the song. If that's the video for it, I'm not mad about it.

  • Sucks the dust of sausages?

  • Song of the now. <3

  • It's Ray Winstsone's daughter an alfie allen, lilly allen's bro!! This tune is fuckin wicked aswell, so's the album.... Buy it!! ;]

  • brilliant song and its a brilliant album

  • brilliant tune, the album is great also!!!!!!!!!

  • Brilliant song, entertaining vid. Madness back on form. Buit next time lads, instead of Jaime Winstone and her fella Alfie Allen, how about their dads Ray Winstone and Keith Allen in a video?!

  • ohh noooo,,,

what is wrong with her eyes, face, lip with too much thicky makeup chair

  • WOOOOOO! Bring on Madstock! :D

  • This is simply MAD tastic Madicifent7 are back One Step Beyond Madness Madness they call it MADNESS we call it GLADNESS !!!!!

  • 1. Thommo's double-entendre songwords and sax solo, 2. Bedders' bassline brotherhood with Woody's drums on every verse intro, and 3. CB's guitar make me pump up the volume everytime I listen to this fine track.

  • she is hot!

  • Maybe it's just because I'm Aussie - but I always envisioned the band playing this song in the outback. In the full dark suits, with red sand and clear blue sky.

And a conga line turning up (kind of like in Yesterday's Men)

  • Ha, no Madness song is complete without a conga line!

Or some sort of silly dance, at least.

  • I hate to be a total pedantic arse... but I am so I will.

It's not called a conga line IN Mad-lore, The seven of them walking in lock step is called the NUTTY TRAIN

  • Well, I Love to be a total pedantic arse!

See, the thing is, and this is the thing, that (un-neccessary capitals aside) I:

    1) Know that the Nutty Train is the Nutty Train and not a Conga Line (which you'll find is called a Conga Line), &

    2) I was describing my vision of the song, which included a Yesterday's Men style dancing-in-a-line; which is, last time I checked, not a Nutty Train.

Isn't it funny how I say precisely what I mean?

  • No, not really.

It seems unnecessarily abrasive and confrontational if truth be told.

But you seem to have decided to go to war about this for no reason at all.

    I wish you well.

  • this comment was read out in front of hundreds at a music video night in London. We all laughed.

  • what comment u tlkin bout?

  • sorry but im just laughing at how petty you all are

the song is on here to watch and listen to, not have a hissy bitch fight!

  • are you sure that comment was to me becuase i havnt argued with anyone :/

  • Well Said If Ya Dont Like D song Dontwatch It like

  • Hehe well said mimkyodar!

  • Great to hear you guys play this live at Luna Park in Sydney last month! :)

    Like the video, too.

  • I blew my top when he said it was going to be the next single! That was an Awesome gig.

    Clerkenwell was awesome too!

  • Brilliant song and video!

    Perfect

  • Thommo (KIX)... you're so dark............NB11

  • DUST DEVIL DOES THE WORK OF IDLE HANDS!!! ;-p

  • looks like the dublin castle

  • brilliant song. shame about the video. what happened to the benny hill style slapstick vids of the good old days?

still the best band in the history of the universe!

  • NUTTY 4EVER!!!

  • madness are definitely back, this is fuckin awesome

  • LMFAOOOOO ..... alfie allen looks like a fag lollllllllllllll

that was weird (song + video) ..... oh well, watching jaime for 3:38 minutes straight made up for it lol

  • yeah but hes done well for himself shes a little beauty

  • haha, couldn't u tell that was a jealous comment from me LOL

how the fuck did he pull her??? he must be either part horse from the waist down, or part lizard from the neck up, one of the two lmao

  • lmao

  • Same video trick as Smashing Pumpkins' 1979.

  • Fun and Creative! Coolo!

  • Wow, that's a realistic evening out... Do we all have these?

  • PyramidHead2000 - I'm pretty sure this song's about a women spending far too much time with her vibrator - 'keeps a gizmo, under her pillow...' - but done in such a way so that most radio listeners won't twig. Cheeky old Madness - they did a similar thing with House Of Fun, their only UK number 1, which was actually about walking in to a chemist and asking for condoms for the first time 'welcome to the house of fun/now I've come of age...'. That's how I see it anyway. Seems to fit.

  • scary!

Suggs is a crafy genius though :D

  • i think its about a women who likes her "sniff" hence the wizkid part and comedown im missing you and the tittle dust devil. thats how i see it

  • A bit like the smack my bitch up video.

  • The teenage version....... thankfully....... lol

  • i fucking LOVE this video. jaime and alf are so good in it

  • Usually I can get the gist of Madness songs, but this one escapes me, is it about a party girl? The vid would suggest fallen!? Just don't get it

  • I interpret the song as being a drugged up party girl... hence the line "come down, I am missing you"... she is causing havoc on a night on the town... it's a dark-ish video combined with upbeat music.

  • yes i think it is hence the name dust devil as in cocain speed etc and when it says come down im missing you, also at the begining it says spot the wizzkid.and yeah basicaly thats what i think.
