I can't install the textures and addons. The community is trying to make you look bad. There are no instructions. Celestia Motherload is a mess of overlapping versions.

.may i know where did you get the high resolution earth map texture as well as the night map??...(and also the clouds)....my night lights won't show up after I changed the earth texture even though the night lights option is checked....pls i need help....

You have to install add-ons from Celestia Motherlode. On the website click "Add-ons" then "Celestia Motherlode". Check the installation instructions for each add-on, for some of them it might be necessary to edit the configuration files.

The program is fully interactive. It can be controlled using mouse/keyboard or it can execute preprogrammed scripts. In this video it executes a preprogrammed script.

are these just the default textures? or is it a mod? because the defaults definitely do not look this good

I installed the "JMII DDS" textures for Earth and "JohnVV" textures for the Moon. Also installed high res texture for Mars but that's not included in this demo. Everything else should be the default but with rendering settings set as high as my computer could manage and still record it in real time.

How do you record movies, with it's built in record movie option or something else? My PC lags when trying to record a movie that way. What are your system specs?

This video I recorded on my iMac using Snapz Pro X screen capture program. On linux I record using gtkrecordmydesktop. I don't know what can be used on Windows. I didn't know Celestia has built-in recording option, I have to try that too :-)
