Got a used 95 Jetta GL fucking stock radio is a bitch needs a code which i dont have cause its on safe mode got to get it to the dealer and the sunroof is jammed it needs a lot of work but is going to be a show car in the process any advice?
@MrGreg it's not to hard if you have stereo experience. You need a deck that is compatible and has a frame for sizing if the space is too large. It requires a screw driver and some electrical tape and possibly a few other tools. You need to unscrew the old deck then remove wiring harness from deck then install new deck ad re wire to wiring harness if you can't figure it out get a car audio shop to do it.
nice. I got a 98 jetta with a very similar plate number. You must of registered around when I did. What part of ontario is she in? Btw nice rust free mk3!
Swiss Cheese mod with k&n filter does same thing and saves you 300 bucks. I like the look of the ram air, but nothing some graphics on the stock box would not change.
no gt is 2.0L. the difference is that the gt has a spoiler, different seats, alloys, antenna relocated, etc.. the glx jetta has the vr6. all others like gl, gls, gt, k2, trek edition, wolfsburg all have the 2 liter.
Hey man. I'm from nova scotia. I got a 1999 Volkswagen golf. I'm getting a short ram intake next week. Was it easy to install? And how is it on gas milege?
Hey dude I didnt install it my pro euro tuner shop did AMI Motorsports did there not that hard to install just didnt have the time but if your not expirenced in installing parts in cars i would'nt recomend doing it yourself get a shop to do it if you know some stuff you just have to remove the stock air box and make sure that you dont remove the O2 sensors and stuff that then you just bolt the filer on the old tube and a few other steps fuel milage is better than stock with intake.
nath its super easy to install... I just went with a cone filter kit right off the existing pipe in front of the MAF. The breather hose that goes in the right side of the top of the air box needs to be filtered and then all you have to worry about is sealing the vacuum hose that controls the hot/cold flap in the bottom of the air box. Shouldn't take more than 10 minutes.
dude how is your gas milage cause i have the same car same color everything accept i put on a full tt exaust and borla muffler and a tt tuning chipp and a 226 cam and i have to run 92 octane so what do you get for gas milige about cause i get about 25
I have a tt chip, neuspeed intake and full cat back magnaflow dual tip exhaust and i find i get much better milage with the all the mods i probably get about 30-35 i run premium too. The magnaflow exhaust really helped. How much milage is on your engine how old your engine is can affect fuel efficency i only have 160,000 km on my engine and keep up oil changes and maintience that will help.
Hey man glad you like the car its loud and quick. Ya my intake is a Neuspeed P-Flow short ram intake, it cost about $240 for the intake itself and pro install cost $50 it added about 5-6 h.p. The racing ECU chip from TT Techtronics cost 188$ for the chip and $50 for pro install it added about 7-8 h.p., love the chip usually in second gear id have to rev to 4,000 RPM to get to 60 km/h now i only have to rev to 3,700 RPM to get to 60 definate power gain, hit be back if you have other questions
@yourmomstubes lol when I had my 2L jetta with neuspeed p-chip and eurosport cat back exaust I used to do 0 to 60km/h in first haha not sure it liked 7k rpm a lot but still didn't blew haha
Hey man I got a Neuspeed P-Flow intake i got it installed proffesionally. I do know a lot about cars since I am an automotive student at my college. I will tell you this if your worried about your air pump and sensors etc... make sure you get an intake that can be attatched to your original intake hose, this way the filter will improve performance but you can still hook up the sensors so there are no technical issues. If you have any more questions leave a comment or contact a performance shop.
you should get rid of the box around your intake...you will get much better air flow with the hood down, but sick jetta...im gonna do a walkaround mine when it gets nice out so i can put my bbs rc's on.
Good idea for airflow but it's a heat sheild and that protects the air filter from melting and keeps the air cooler around it and therefore compensates for the little bit less of air flow. Cool give me the link when you make a walk around.
true but when your moving you have ram air entering the engine bay and especially in the intake area, and the air filter wont melt...i have the same air filter on my cold air intake without the shield and have had no problems
I would like to have one of those in white.
