I love your upload! I am a huge fan of Stargate SG-1, Atlantis and I suppose also SGU (But it's disappointed me slightly)

i have a question. why doesn't the "wave" created when the wormhole is opened destroy the iris in SGC

the iris sits less than 10 microns from from the event horizon and survives because it is so close. The vortex can't be formed, therefore the iris can't be vaporized. the wormhole does not affect matter that close. Kinda like putting a cover stone over it to block the event horizon altogether.

i thought about this also, but in my opinion the kawoosh should destroy the iris. because the iris is so close it doesn't allow matter to reintegrate, but the kawoosh is an effect of the wormhole establishing (it's not matter it's subatomic particles - which can integrate as mentioned in the show by sam). so technically it should form and destroy anything in it's path OR if indeed it cannot form, than the wormhole should not establish at all since it is prevented from "doing it's thing".

the "kawoosh" as you call it is a by-product of the wormhole engaging. Blocking the kawoosh will not stop the worm hole from establishing. If you drop a rock in a pond it will cause a splash (kawoosh) but if you put a cover (Iris) over it you effectively block the splash but the rock (wormhole) still enters the pond.

well, as far as i remember, in SG Atlantis, the shield on the gate is pretty much the same thing as the iris (also jsut a few microns from the event horizon), but still when u look at it u can see the kawoosh forming behind the shield, hitting it. so basically the same thing should be happening behind the iris.

thats cuz it had to end, so the Ori story wasnt really well told.... i believe that if was to continue SG-1 would be ok, maybe not as good the Gouald times but still nice.

Same thing is aout to happen with Atlantis, they have to end it now, and i bet the end isnt going to be as cool as it would be if they continued the series, and its going to end with a movie too :S

the original movie came out when i was a year old so stargate has been around for just about my entire life. i love stargate. i watch SG1 re-runs every day and always tune into the new atalntis episodes when the new series start. i love stargate. its sooooo coool. SG1 was way better, than atlantic though tbh, and SG1 went a little down hill from series 9, but its still cool
