Thank-you very much for uploading this. I work in a care home for elderly residents and they could not have a firework display,(due to health and safety regs) but they loved this and there were lots of oooohs and ahhhhs!
If everyone is suddenly fooled into believing the mayan 2012 end of world mayan prophecy is true then the new year celebration 2012-2013 will be much bigger then the millenium celebrations lol
Great video. I watched the Sydney Y2K celebrations while eating breakfast here in North America. CNN showed the Harbour Lanterns along with Iva Davies' performance. When midnight struck, the fireworks were nothing short of incredible.
I was there, right side of the bridge @ ground level 50 yards(45m) from the base of the tower. I was 14 years old, Ground shaking and spectacular sight. I will never forget it
I love it too! it is The Ghost of Time by Richard Tongetti and the Sydney Symphony with Iva Davies' Great Southern Land. It was performed before midnight at the Opera House. gives me goose bumps!
thanks so much for posting. what an amazing display. i was thr in 2000 for the olympics fireworks and again for nye in 2006, 2007 and 2008. awesome song for the background
Thanks for sharing.

I was right on the harbour... I was 7 years old, on my dad's shoulders. I miss that place.

Awesome thing about these fireworks are that it is fired above the Opera House, unlike 2010, it is only the awesome Sydney Harbour Bridge =D

@kevsterrockx Nowadays it would've been too dangerous to launch fireworks off the opera house
