The Rebbe was amazing for Judaism. It says in the Talmud that several people will come just before the Moshiac to set the path. The Rebbe in my mind was undoubtedly one of these guys. Whether he will return as Moshiac or not is up to Hashem. I will wait and see. Moshiac Now!!! Lets not forget Hashem Echod!!!!
If the rebbe was the moshiach, how come when people used to sing "We want moshiach now..." he didn't jump up and say, "Hi ! Its me! I'm here !"
I think we're dealing with three factors: A bunch of grown babies who can't cope with the death of a beloved father figure... and an organization that couldn't get itself together to appoint one... and maybe a Rebbe who should have seen this coming...
The Rebbe did see this coming, because we know that every genration has a tzaddik, that if we merit his coming he will reveal himself, and the rebbe was moshiach. Now you may wonder, can moshiach come from the dead? I heard the Rambam says that he can, and also the talmud in Sanhedrin says this also.
