  • pretentious douche. and you can barely even play it lawl

  • I agree with you to an extent.

Definitely guitarists need to strive for putting their own soul into the guitar instead of only playing chords, however with that said it requires a greater understanding of the guitar and further training. So for a beginner to pick up a guitar and play some chords, hey its challenging for him, awesome. However if you've been playing for years and you've mastered chords, it's time to move onto something a little more unique.

  • @JoeStriker1

To further my point, everyone was once a beginner, and in my opinion wether they know a few chords or a single note on fret two, they are still a guitar player. I differ on your defintion of the latter, however I agree with your statement that people need to progress with their instrument.

  • by the way, happy one year anniversay of this video post!

  • @YOITSJOE21 thank you.. life passes on quickly. I'm going to start doing a lot more music on my youtube.

  • easier said than done my friend...

  • man ur solos and stuff sounded a lot like frusciante live . he adds a lot to the songs when he is playing live .

  • @mfs908 thank you sir :)

  • You see this is something I can't necessarily agree with. Just because someone can't play the guitar well doesn't mean you shouldn't credit them for trying to play, are you expressing that all beginner guitarists should quit now and not learn? It's like saying you don't know how to play basketball if you can only shoot, or your not a singer because you can't sing well. You shouldn't condemn them for not being a good guitar player. Heck, it's not like you wake up and become great at guitar.

  • @YOITSJOE21 He's not talking about pure beginners (who obviously are going to start with basic chords and that's fine). He's just saying that there are too many people who call themselves guitar players once they can play a few chords and have learnt a few songs (which ANYONE can do), but the instrument is so much more complex than that, so they should be looking to extend themselves. Otherwise it's like being an eternal beginner. Boring . . .

  • @ElTrollBoy I'm just saying you shouldn't chastise beginners. I think if someone knows how to play a few songs, even if basic, call him a player. This guy gives me the impression of: "Look at how great I am at guitar!"

  • @YOITSJOE21 I am not chastising beginners... I'm saying that people should not be satsified with just chords, people should understand everything about the guitar not just blocks of what they're told. Imagine how shitty the piano would sound if everyone just played chords and didn't truly understand every note that is being played.

  • Thats really cool man i like that. Thats all I have to say about that man I like your taste of music.

  • Love to see someone who shares music and stocks with me! Great work lately Idan.

Ray aka Crude Oil Trader/Tucson Bass Player

  • is that a phish rift poster in the background.

  • Actually i wish it was, but it's. it's a SICK blue music poster which has 10 musicians playing different instruments and they are drawn like a Picasso painting.

  • Ah true' like the picasso "blue guitar" painting with the old dude playing an acoustic. sweet.

  • Yeah, it's called house blues.

  • haha

  • from stock charts to chord charts.... Whoa thx Idan .I agree with ya, are you taking any requests? Pop guitar is overdue for a correction in its market. LOL . peace Bob

  • we are curious, we seek novelty, familiarity breeds contempt. Great playing too :)

  • The man behind the charts!! Good stuff!

  • baritone talker, tenor singer... funny...

Good stuff, yeah, there is something to be said for freestyle jazzy redeuxs...I agree, ALL art should be a communication, whatever that message may be in the moment, not just a re-broadcast of a faded Polaroid.. Sounds great man!

  • I'm actually a bass/baritone singer... but i have a little over two octaves (+ false setto) haha

  • Hey, this vid was great advice man! I've been playing around with what you talked about, and it does add a lot of texture to the music...
