I really want to get the XFX DD 7950. It's been at the top of my list since day one. I run dual XFX 6950's now, flashed to 6970's. However now that they are out and they lack the dual BIOS switch, I may be leaving XFX behind this generation. Something I have not done in a couple years.

The 7950 can be flashed, dont look like it opens any SP's, but it does give a performance boost. I like having dual BIOS as a safety net. I will see how more user flashes pan out. But I may be going with ASUS.

i thought eyefinity made it so you could run 3 displays using 2xDVI and 1xHDMI. but apparently my 6970 HD by XFX cant do that in the CCC, it will only recognize 2 monitors at a time when i have all 3 plugged in. I thought eyefinity made it so I didnt HAVE to use display port monitors. =/

@Marsvilta The reason for this is that one of your monitors has to be used with a display port on the graphics card (a lot people pick left or middle monitor). To do this with monitors that don't have a display port you need a Display Port to DVI adapter. This adapter MUST be an ACTIVE adapter. Passive adapters will not work for this. Make sure you get a Single Link Active adapter because they are much cheaper then Dual Link ( about $100 vs $25 ) You can buy them at Newegg.

@Adrastos34 ya the thing is display port monitors are so expensive for the size, i have 2x 34in+ monitors that are dvi and hdmi only, no display port. could i use the adapter to plug into the dvi in the monitor into the display port on the card?

@Marsvilta Yes, so what you will do is take your DVI to DVI cable and plug it into your monitor. Then get the Display Port to DVI adapter and plug it into your video card and then plug the cable into the adapter. It doesn't matter which monitor as long as one of the 3 monitors has that active display port adapter being used. This will let you use CCC to group the 3 monitors.

@Marsvilta Also, I have heard its best to not plug in all the monitors at the same time. Start with only 1 monitor (the one using the display port adapter) then start your computer and get into Catalyst Control Center and then plug the other two monitors in.

What the heck it a dust free fan?

@HvyMetal49 When you shut off the computer, the fan blows in reverse to blow out all the dust it might have collected. It's not 100% dust free, but a neat trick to reduce the dust collection over time.
