I hope you don't mind I am using a tiny bit of this for a two hour long projection on a lotus sculpture at Burning Man - the best piece I saw in about 20 of these movies.
That had some kinda weird affect on my head. My brain feels all warm and tingly now! It's like stuff I see when I close my eyes after taking hallucinogens or smoking weed. Am I the only one who is trippin out from seeing this (despite not having taken anything)? Does anyone else feel it?
Coords are correct, but it isn't a default normal Mandelbrot, although it looks like it diving in. It is a tweaked formula, which shows up in strange ways as you dive in. You don't see black holes in normal Mandelbrot or Julia. There are many such formulas in the world of FRACTINT. You can not do this with other fractal programs.
no. fractals are mathematical models. The universe is a reality, every scientific theory is only a MODEL of the physical world, it is not the same as the actual reality. never will be.
However I wonder if there is a 3D version of this clip and if so what is the pattern at the edge of this fractal black hole.
the edge is called the event horizon and is where the escape velocity equals the speed of light and that is why you don't call a plumber if you want to make a pizza
yes it is called the event horizont in REAL black holes. But your black hole is a mathematical result of a set of calculations, and I was referring to this picture, therefore its edge cannot be called event horizon because the definition of event horizon applies to real black holes.
You may use this definition arbitrarily for your creation but in this case do not accuse me calling the plumber when I want to eat because I certainly don't do that :)
Done that - it shows a very complex pattern like the edge of seahorse valley, only much more so. Takes a long time to render, yet I may make the video later.
I think that comment was meant to be a joke initially because I figured all that you would see would too complex and just look like noise and take too long to render.
Now I'm curious if you could find a minibrot in there with multiple perfect circles surrounding it.
I would be scared shitless falling into one of these for all eternity where it gets more intense falling into unknownness til you just die..

@JaytheGreek Then don't do it. Don't even get near one of these - you will get sucked right in!

@FractAlkemist What if it comes towards Earth? :(

Is there a tie-dye t-shirt of this? :-)

Isn't it simply a Julia island of a value for c near 0 + 0i ??
Could you please post the coordinates of this area?

This cannot be a coincidence, maybe the key to understand real black holes lies in fractal geometry....
I think the math of quantum gravity will include fractal geometry.

The whole freakin universe is a fractal! Dont you know?

And ever atom is a mini black hole. Kind of like little mini-brots!

Who am I to say, but I wish you had used different colors for this one.

Wow, that's cool. Now zoom 1000X into the edge of it! :)
