Personally I'll never learn to STFU when it comes to correcting idiots such as yourself who think using the word 'fuck' makes you all grown up.
Jesus, what grade were you in when you dropped out of school. Are you really this ignorant? LOL.
@muirland16 because of bad tracking. They should have told the Amtrak to slow down or stop before going into the yard. Ether that or the enginer didnt see the single to "stop"...
The problem it that NS has its own signals, red over yellow on NS is a restricting signal (proceed at a speed that allows stopping within half the range of vision short of a stop signal, train, track employee, or any type of dangerous condition)
On CSX witch that Amtrak service also uses Red over yellow is a Diverging approach (proceed on diverging route not exceeding prescribed speed through turnout; approach next signal preparing to stop, if exceeding 30mph immediately reduce to that speed. speed for Amtrak and commuter trains is 40) the signal was taken as a diverging approach not a restricting thus this nice crash ! -Engineer-
Preliminary indications are the engineer mistook a restricting (high yellow over red) for an approach (yellow over red) and was doing 35 MPH when the colision occured, 20 MPH over the speed limit and failing to look for and obstruction ahead (this case a stopped train).
Murjax you are correct. It was an NS frieght. This happened on NS's Chicago Line. The intermodal frieght had just started to proceed into yard when Amtrak 371 hit it from behind. NTSB is still looking for cause.
That was a Norfolk Southern Train.

Are you sure it s the worst train company ever?
LOL who owns Amtrack.
Your dumb, and on the internet, sad.

lol why did you write to me about my comment when it doesnt mean any thing to me . =) bad grammar.
George21T 3 years ago
It should mean something because you appear ignorant when you comment on something you have no clue about.
You didn't answer the question, what "company" owns Amtrak?
Comment on things youre knowledgeable about, if that's possible.
"LOL"

It's a CSX reefer on a Norfolk Southern Train. The train that it collided with was a Norfolk Southern train.

Actually in the incident report, the cause was blamed on the dispatcher switching the Amtrak train onto the wrong track.
