im shocked jimmy hart took the bump on the cement floor. Ole was head booker at the time. I agree july 14,1984 was the day vkm tried to kill wrestling. It was black saturday. One thing is funny, freddie miller who was at the podeum on black sat, never worked for the nwa again after wcw came back
Clearly a shoot. "The people are not gonna stand for it" We all remember our reactions on Black Saturday. Honestly it was one of the worst days of my life.
It's just a matter of charisma. Dusty probably had more Charisma than anyone EVER! Think about his famous "Hard Times" promo or his "This Thing Will Never Be Over" take on Ole. I can still recite these things almost 30 years later. Did anyone ever remember a TBP promo a week later?
@TheMarcusMarcs Dusty was dripping with it. I still love hearing him. Last I saw he was doing commentary for matches for FCW and I'd watch just to hear him. lol
Has anyone ever noticed the look on Ole Anderson's face when Thunderbolt Patterson would attempt to shake hands with him. Ole has this "Get away from me look". Priceless! T-Bolt's interviews rarely made any sense!
Ole & Thunderbolt may have been the most mismatched tag team ever. Ole is one of the all-time greats on the mike, and Thunderbolt literally seems to be in pain when asked for a comment.
Bitch slapped and Own'ed 80's style. Makes me want to sing for the old days ala Archie Bunker<cough>:"Those were the Days" "And you knew when you were owned then" "Girls were girls and men were men" "Looks like we could use a man like Hulk Hogan again."
Ole seems genuinly pissed!

Thunderbolt Patterson couldn't talk to save his life. What a poor interview.

I think TBP had the worst mic skills I've ever seen. Ole was always underrated on it. Ole was definitely believable as a tough-guy.

A semi-shoot as Ole sends a message to Vince McMahon on trying to move into Georgia.

And he wasn't that great in the ring.

I agree yet everyone always says that DustyRhodes ripped everything he did from T-Bolt. I'd take Dusty over Thunderbolt anyday.

You weren't down south in the 70's. Thunderbolt was the main event in Georgia,Florida, and all over the south. You just don't get it.

Don't hate on Tbolt. He was a poor interview compared to today's overly scripted promos but for his day, he was great and a major crowd pleaser.

Tbolt was real. God Bless Him.

Hart was in the NWA before and after stays in Memphis, was a factor on the Georgia scene for a while.
