"If a Jew needs a liver, can you take the liver of an innocent non-Jew passing by to save him? The Torah would probably permit that. Jewish life has an infinite value," he explained. "There is something infinitely
more holy and unique about Jewish life than non-Jewish life.
-- Chabad Lubavitch Rabbi Yitzhak Ginsburgh in Jewish Week, the largest Jewish publication in the United States.
The above quote is a clear display on the intolerant attitudes of Chabad Lubavitch towards gentiles.
bein jewish not only means carrying a Jewish name, wearing a hat, having a beard,a kippa. Its indeed quiet more complicated than that! There is a whole state of mind,a way of thinking,an attachment to god,a way of even things very different from the others. The Jews look for the sincerity and its for that they grant the convertion only to the persons who really want it in their hearts.
"Decent people " you said?! Then I reassure you for your exclamation we are humans and dont forget:you can't judge a book by its cover even if the cover's very important!
Actually being a Jew isn't a religion, it is closer to being a tribe. You may be familiar with what a tribe is from the native peoples of America, and you will realize a person cannot simply "convert" to become a Cherokee or Iroquois or Inuit! These tribes, like the Jewish people, are strong and proud, and have thousands of years of tribal bonds that should be supported and valued, and you don't have to convert to do that.
Unlike chrisitanity or other religions they don't activley look for converts. They believe in live and let live each person is entitled to their religion .However when and if people do end up converting they are welcome with love and open arms and by law are required to treat them better then they themselves.
