  • Please, please, please more videos!

  • I suck at rolling omg

  • This is a weird comment, but you have very good biceps!!

  • I am gonna try this very very soon! I tried a little today and my hair just wouldn't roll. Gonna try with a bit of hair spray this time though.

  • WHY is it that I can't seem to get it??

  • I will be trying this soon!

  • Thank you thank you thank you! ^-^

  • If you have shorter hair(especially in the back), what would you recommend doing with it?

  • So glad to get the diagonal part tip for fine hair, I'm always at a loss on my 'less hair' side :D

  • Fantastic!! I have been looking for a good video for fine hair for my upcoming 1940s radio plays! Thanks!

  • Can you show us how to turn it into an updo pretty please?

  • Love it! So great seeing girls rock this era. Great eye makeup!

  • What I LOVED about your tutorial is

    A) you have fine hair

    B) you didn't pin-curl it first or curl it at all

    C) you used the basic equipment

Thank you!! I needed the refresher and I'm saving this to My Favs

  • Love it! Thank you for posting it.

  • You seriously are a genius! I love your work. Keep going with the videos :D

  • helpful!!! thxthxthx :D:D:D

  • you are so nice and beautiful thanks for sharing!

  • well done videos!! I'm sharing them with a friend who also loves vintage looks!! Keep up the great work ;)

  • I was trying to do my rolls from the end & it was difficult & then I started doing them with wrapping them around my finger first & it is so much easier! Then I watched your video & was so happy to see someone else does it that way with faster & greater success! I was having to do it over & over again when starting at the end & now its about 3 minutes & Im done compared to 15 minutes of swearing at my mirror I also curl w/ a curling iron first makes it easier too I found! LOVE your tutorials!

  • oops, I meant simple and no-nonsense... must be the hairspray fumes getting to me.

  • OMG, what a very helpful video, simple and nonsense! My first time doing this victory rolls, and it didn't turn out half bad :) Now I can have a hairstyle to match all my old clothes! I had to use way more pins because my hair is very thick and heavy. It also helped me to keep the roll formed well by putting one finger back into it while pinning. Thanks for the tutorial, I am looking forward to making all my friends jealous!

  • after about 3 years practice - i MIGHT just get this good! - damn layered hair! xx

  • looking mighty fine, my dear. i also like a styling like this with one roll on the center near the forehead, leaning a bit down, the rest ' to your liking ', maybe tucked to the top/back with some styling.

  • I'm thinking of doing the blonde streak...whatcha think?

  • I cant do the roll part. u make it look too easy.lol.

  • You make it look easy and I can't wait to try!

  • Very clear tutorial...will surely try it out myself. Please do a tutorial on your eyelining technique. Than you!

  • My hair is exactly like yours Fleur, fine!! Great tips can't wait to try, cause I've been having a darn time of it lately w/victory rolls. :(

  • urgh...i cannot master the rolly part...it just wont roll! :( also...can you do victory rolls if you have a side fringe on the go...?

  • Brilliant xxx love it! keep them coming fluer xx

  • omg OMG ahah thats all i have to say apart from i love your hair thank you for posting i hope i can compair to that hahah!!!!!!

  • Thank you!!!!

  • So excited to see a video from you! Simply lovely!

  • well hello lovely nice to see another video from you bee a while <3

thanks i have very fine hair and always have trouble with this and i think that roll around the finger half way through is going to save me ;-)

  • Can't wait until I get home to watch this, as I doubt the guys I play Magic the Gathering with want to listen to a hair styling tutorial while I wait for them to finish up the game they are on. On the other hand they may finish up quicker if I do make them listen to it!

  • Beautiful!

  • Thanks for the tutorial, it was very informative and came just in time! My hair finally grew out to the length I wanted, and this will be the perfect style for me to try next!

  • your'e very beautiful. I admire you original beauty and charm :)

  • This hair is perfect for a role playing 1940's character in drama, or musicals.

  • Love Love Love! You have the most perfect eyebrows.

  • @alexinwonderland5393 thanks! I think they are a little bit asymmetrical here! ;)

  • You're so cute Fleur!! You did a fine job too, for doing it in one try. it's so true that sometimes even with many years of practice, there are days when you just can't get it right! Grrr!

I think it's neat that we both use the same technique as well! :D

So happy you made a video though, I'm excited for future ones as well, even if it does takes 15 thousand years. ;)

  • Fab tutorial Fleur. Can I join the mutual love of you and LisaFreemontStreet. YYou're two of my favourite YTers

  • @MookeyChick13 I am humbled to be compared to the wonderousness of LFS!

  • @diaryofavintagegirl pshaw! :)

  • So stunning!!!!

  • Hooray!

  • always lovely to hear you Fleur ;) thanks for the tutorial!

  • Lovely victory rolls there, and you've reminded me that it's been aaaaages since I wore my hair up like that instead of just setting it in a curl.

I've also been meaning to ask how the perm has worked out for you - was it worth it? I used to have one done religiously, but that was back in the mid-90s (I'm guilty of having a spiral perm) and I'm too scared to have one done now!

  • @GinPrincess3931 I actually snipped out a bit of the waffle on my perm... as you can see from the beginning it's not really obvious in unstyled hair. It's got a year's worth of growth so it's only the end bit... and it's very very dry. But 100% exactly what I wanted, completely successful at enabling me to keep my curls in longer; and after I've had a good chop, I'll have it redone.

  • Oh, and we're still holding you to the promise for that 'smiley pompadour' tutorial. The faux bang WITH the victory rolls. ;-)

  • @LisaFreemontStreet

This. With brass bloody knobs on.

  • You rawk. :)

  • @LisaFreemontStreet You do you mean!

  • @diaryofavintagegirl yes I do. I rock. LOL Just kidding...you're silly and quite daft. :) Isnt that the english expression for completely bonkers? Good to have you back, 'Floor'.

  • @LisaFreemontStreet daft is something I have often been described as! Daft as a brush... with which to sweep the 'Floor' ;)

  • Oh, how exciting to see you back with another video! Please do make more, you are so lovely!!!

  • Worth the wait! You make it look so easy :)
