The written statement with this video isn't correct. It reads that Gary hacked the computers AFTER Sept 11th 2001. In truth, he'd started hacking in 2000 and merely continued through 2001.
Get your facts straight.

I'm an American and our government was stupid, we had BLANK passwords and left computers on overnight with no one monitoring them 24/7 so he just basically used remote assist with Windows and looked through everything. He's explained openly on interviews. The Government should thank him if anything. Plus theres apparently lots of foreign country IP's that were also connected. But I would definitely not demand they receive a lifetime jail sentence as punishment. I'd be more interested in why they did what they did. I don't see a need for extradition and I think the British government were way too quick to hand him over. I certainly don't see how his low-level hacking warrants life in prison. Consequently, US have changed its strategies and policies regarding cyber security.
That will sound very acceptable and realistic instead of the none-sens that both were telling.

Though I don't necessarily side with everything about the disclosure group. Personally I have no idea if we need to be defending our selves or not. Just that I am not afraid to know the truth about it and feel many others feel the same way. Though credibility has already been damaged now. I am not sure I would trust everything that was told to me anyways. But it would be a start.

While he may have been wrong about hacking into the data base there is a reason he did it as the people have been wronged. Such incidents like Washington D.C. 1952 massive ufo fleet called a "temperature inversion" not to mention the seeming intelligence and impossible accelerations and visible confirmations along with radar. I am a USMC veteran and an IT specialist fifty years of age. In my opinion Gary should be given a reward by the US Government for exposing a ridiculous lack of security in our nations military computer network. Gary didn't run any specialized hacking programs. He simply looked for and found non password protected administrator accounts. WTF!

Mr. McKinnon is being accused of damages done to government hardware through hacking it. For what he was searching for, it would be illogical and of no benefit for him to do so.
