Funny how I have a copy of this on vinyl.....and you are saying it was your first attempt. Now Im not doubting you but it's strange because this sounds so very very very similar to a version recorded and released by an English DJ (I think from Hertfordshire as he knows the record shop owner that I know) about 3 or 4 years ago.....and if I wasnt so drunk I'd play them side by side and see just how similar they are...

Im guessing he may just have played the bootleg because the white stripes drumming is human (not a drum machine) so not precise enough to mix it up......only 2 drummers I've come across who are perfect enough to mix in with dance music...

yes, you are right. Despite watching him cut the tracks (which means they weren't both mixed for the whole time and were brought in and out where relevant) from the side. Your speculation of what I had heard and saw with my own eyes is no doubt more reliable than my recollection.

p.s. Do you think there is any possible way that these two records could be cut together live to make a good sound in a club?

Im not sure depends how accurate the drumming is but I have always seen the White Stripes as a live drummer band and they are notoriously difficult to mix with because they change pace in even tiny amounts or because the song actually changes pace. I would have to listen to the original on decks and see the BPM and see if it remains static and Im not sure I own that song on vinyl or CD....I only own this mashup on 7"
