I was a very young girl when I heard of her death and I lived in a different country. I have studied Janis since I was very young, starting shortly after she died. Pain ... and art ... they seem to be intertwined ... it would have been really great if she would have joined The Fellowship back then for perhaps we would have been able to learn more from her, and also reach out to her as well.

janis was clean for 6 months in 1970, prior to her death. peggy caserata gave her a hit in LA and jansi started using again. her od was due to pure H in combination with alcohol intoxication. she lay dead for 18 hours, when her road manager found her on 10/4/1970.
