  • This trailer puts the Ultramarine movie to shame.

  • good work m8

  • mate i swear if i had the funds I'd fund this to be made, like everyone else has commentated way better than Ultramarine's movie well done excellent work.

  • Great animations. God awful voice acting.

  • The visuals are amazing, but I really hope that the narration on the final version gets better.

  • I want this on DVD when it is finished thank you very much

  • Greyknights, FUCK YEAH!

  • love it! but needs a better voice actor. no offence

  • Quite nice, it does look better than Ultramarine.

  • Awesome Trailer. And you have made it? I need a break.

  • o.o full props

  • An amazing CG animator...has been discovered...by the internets. Youtube was contacted...to unveil his mad skills...and to give him all our upboats. After a long time of investigation, we have now discovered...his true talents...and our worst expectations...have come true. Furthermore...the english language....was used for his script...and destroyed. He reads at a high school level. At least....this is what the official transcripts are saying. We do believe...one thing. This...IS A LIE!!!

  • Awesomeawesomeawesomeawesome! Now let's just hope it won't suffer the same fate as Damnatus.

  • Please go work on Dark Millennium On-line.

  • Congratulations. This looks incredible, even on the production side. Way better than the Space Marine movie released in nov' 2011.

I'd pay to have it on DVD. keep up the good work!

  • I thought it was great, my only qualm was that, being Warhammer it should have had more battle and less naration. still it was very good

  • HOLY NICE CRAP

  • damn, this looks professional

  • pretty cool

  • awesome dude

  • NOBODY EXPECTS THE IMPERIAL INQUISTI-*bam!*

    HERESY!!!!!

  • borther i honour you. to do this alone is amazing

best bit is at 2:19 Grey knights FTW

  • Are you all kidding me?? Have you ever been working with a program like Cinema 4d or 3dMax? As a hobby-movie this is way more than magnificent.

But I have to agree, the walking animation of the Inquisitor was a bit rough. A heavy bolter or a double Bolter is sure difficult to handle. Maybe you could try to express the recoil more with a movement backwards instead of up-and-downwards since Space marines have good aim even using those weapons.

But I can just repeat my opinion. THIS IS GREAT!!

  • damn cool...

  • Everything looked great apart from the shooting animations man, they were terrible. The rest was awesome.

  • i ll watch your web site for monde infos...very Nice.

  • THis looks better then ultramarines the movie indeed and envokes the warhammer feeling (dark places, medieval warrior mentality, big weapons, heroic fights, etc)

  • is the film uploaded somewhere?

  • Plasma Weaponry please!! BURN HERETICS!!!!! :)

  • Wow, this is really awesome :)

  • incredibly well made, the walking animations are a little jerky

  • Mind = Blown!

    Great stuff

  • Fucking Mind Blowing!

  • 2:07 The baneblade looks WAY more BadAss xD

  • I can't believe how more badass the baneblade looks. You sir have done the impossible. The Grey Knight firing the HB though should move his body in recoil too. In anycase, normally I'd be all over the small inaccuracies, but a Grey Knight riding on the turret of a Land Raider is just too awesome to call shenanigans on.

  • Very nicely done. Did you make this entirely on your own or did you compile this from other Warhammer clips? If you did the latter you really had me going because this is very believable. If by any chance you can get this made into a movie, do it!

  • needs some tweaking but its much better then ultramarine

  • THIS IS FUCKING AWESOME!!!

  • I this this trailer is VERY well done and thought through. The animation is smooth and there are some good shots in there. I hope this gets to continue.

  • Oh God please don't let this film get shut down right before its release like that other fan made Inquisitor movie!

  • This is perfect this can be a WH40k movie. show this to the black library, the animation is perfect

  • I always wondered how one made the sign of the aquilla, thanks a lot Warpgazer

  • @notenufdaka where is this shown? (please provide a time) I've always wondered myself

  • @stringtheory00 1:24 botom of screen

  • COTEAZ!!!!

  • Awesome.... O.O

  • hahaahah, good job! You humiliated Games Workshop, you did this all yourself and it looks way better then the Ultramarines movie!

  • wohoo really nice

  • omg omg omg omg... Warhammer 40,000 gasm!

  • It looks awesome, best of luck too you. You have my support!

  • How long did it take you to make it? Because it looks really really amazing!!!

  • You people are all mistaken. This won't be just a movie. It will also be the biggest collection of W40k wallpapers ever made.

  • Inquisitors don't have American accents.

  • @shininnit Actually anybody in the warhammer universe doesnt have any accent known to humanity at this time. It is a completely different language, depending on what planet they are from. High Gothic is a compilation of different languages formed on earth when the emporer took it over. Plus, British actors do roles for many movies based in other countries with different languages, so its kinda the same thing.

  • Awesome man...

too bad that as soon someone from Gamesworkshop sees this, you get letters from their lawyers...

  • @Cr1zza I'm not sure, this is a non-profit animation, done for the fun of it in his free time. It's no worse than drawing a space marine and putting it online. Well I hope so. This Deserves to be finished and not fucked over by some big corporation.

  • @TheMaggotChicken

There were once some germans doing a fanfic film...

And GW shut it down, they're kind of paranoid that they loose the rights on anything which has to do with fantasy or 40k.

  • @Cr1zza don't worry it's been approved by GW!

source: thelordinquisitor.c_o_m/blog/born-free/ (take out the underscores, stupid youtube...)

  • @Cr1zza Some more faith in humanity has been destroyed. HOWEVER. If they have actually got the blessing of GW then its gonna be awesome, as long as they don't ruin it.

  • @Cr1zza That was due to German copyright laws - as I remember it was something like if they'd have allowed it to go ahead, they'd have lost their copyright (in Germany) on all trademarks used by the film. That probably wasn't brought to their attention when they first gave the go ahead. Anyway, with one of the Black Library's own writers penning the script, I doubt they'll be pulling the plug now. Who knows? Perhaps they'll work out a deal to release it officially? :p

  • Well fucking done, respect man, this looks like its made by a professional company- Really good job, keep it up!

  • fucking awesome dude, you worked hard and it shows. Really cool original content that i appreciate, even more so when framed against the sea of re-cut re-used bullshit 12 year olds make and fill youtube with.

If you'll forgive one minor opinion, when its says "one thing we believe" you might consider changing that to "one thing we're sure of" or "one thing we know". It might give it a little more zing.

  • If there's going to be an Inquisition live-action movie, it better be Eisenhorn trilogy. or at least Ravenor.

I wanna see Barbarista in action!

  • fuck me.....get in touch with GW, THQ, and anyone else....you have to make this into a fully fledged movie (but you have to use british voice...american voices sound too rough for this kind of sci fi)

  • your animation is superb.

  • awesome. great work.

  • very nice was first seen it looks better than the movie ultramarine

  • @PANTSYRS1 indeed this does look leagues better than the ultra marines movie

  • Looks great... I agree the voice acting is a bit stilted. I don't want to criticise your labour of love too much though, obviously a lot of work has gone into it.

  • Ok, it probably isn't good that I cracked up at "This... is a lie."

  • Great!!! Can´t wait! For the EMPEROR!!!!!!!!!!!

  • amazinin

  • very nice

  • very good better than that painfully to watch ultramarine movie crap better voice acting would be good but other than that really impressed

  • Good but better voices please

  • Overall good, but the walking animation is a bit stiff, and the animations on the heavy bolters need to have less recoil... Bolt weapons would have very little recoil when used by an astartes, due to the gyro stabilisation and recoil absorbion systems in the power armour. (The heavy bolters wouldn't fly up and down like they do in the animation)

  • @Mjollnir1990 Plus bolter technology uses small pressurized gas charges in the shell to launch it out of the weapon, and then a rocket kicks in. So little recoil to begin with when compared to conventional firearms of that caliber.

  • @Mjollnir1990 Oh they still recoil. Marine or no, they're going to bounce around. The marine's skill and war gear mean that it has little overall effect though.

  • The animation may look better than Ultramarine. But the voice acting sucks and one walk animation was quite stilted. Aside from that my only problem: Inquisition/Grey Knights. Why? I've never personally found them that interesting or cool. Give me battles of millions over conspiracies any day. Sure Ultramarine didn't have big battles but at least it didn't focus on the Inquisition. Still this is probably worth seeing anyway like Damnatus (which I only watched cause it was 40k).

  • fkng epic cant wait 4 the full animation!

  • hella legit

  • I would SO watch that movie!

  • You've just earned yourself another subscriber, Warp Gazer. Tzeentch bless you.

  • sweet mate good work

  • I think saying that everyone in the whole of the Imperium has a British accent is more than a little foolish. Certainly, some worlds might have British accents, but not all of them. There are way to many branches of of mankind, some resulting in speciation, so to assume different languages or accents didn't arrise is folly.

  • The animation looks amazing, the character models are pretty damned slick. The movie/short film/not sure looks to be infinately better than the shit that the people that made "Ultramarines" came up with. Though the one thing I have a HUGE gripe with is the voice acting. Hat off to you for trying but you need British accents in there. Cockney accents being formost amongst them for the Imperial Guard, then the more refined words of the well spoken 'Queens English' for the Inquisitors. You get it.

  • only thing i thought that was bad was that the Grey knight had a heavy bolter while they would not use them, they use something called psilencer which is far more better than a heavy bolter

  • One word: Gorgeous !

  • Good Sweet Lord this looks amazing! I can't wait to see what becomes of this!

  • Comment removed

  • My one and only complaint is; why is a Grey Knight using a Psycannon (or what looked like one) like a Heavy Bolter? I don't think they even have heavy bolters...

But....dude, this is amazing work. Doing a digital animation degree means I know how hard this sort of stuff is and, well, this is industry level and then some. This blows Ultramarines not just out of the water but into the next galaxy. Serious props. Well done indeed.

  • WHAT THE FUCK???!??!?!, that looks beowolf worthy, im sending this to gw, ima make em fund it.

  • Ships and armor looks too modern. Need more grotesque and medieval!!!

  • Definitely makes me want to get into animation.

  • Jesus, this is a fan project? The quality of the animation is better than the official Ultra-Marines movie.

  • @Alamandorious Yep, 100% non-profit, fan-made project. Puts GW and their "official" Ultramrines movie to shame.

  • i saw grey knights and was like i love this already

  • sweet jesus

  • 2:20 that grey knight....man ur good ;)

  • i think i just came...

  • Very impressive. That voice guy needs to be replaced though ASAP.

  • the best i have ever seen,and i have seen ALOT !!!!! :O

  • If you make this for real you will be famous :D

  • @lachie19940 It's going to be real, and about 15-20 minutes long. He's also on Facebook if that's anything :)

  • Oh, my god. The best WH40k trailer ever seen.

  • Give this man a crew of animation nerds and an unlimited budget, it's time to make a warhammer 40k animated movie that doesn't make you want to spend the next two decades of your life inventing a time machine to let you go back and get the hour you wasted watching Ultramarines back.

  • that part of the Grey Knight... fuck, its too epic.

  • you sir, are the Emperor himself!

  • wiked kool great work man

  • This is insanely cool.

Seriously whoevers making this: you could probably get this published as a indie release - you have some insane talent.

  • Good to see a W40K movie that finally gets the point of warhammer. Battles on a truly epic scale. Landraiders and Baneblades charging into battle, capital ships being blasted out of orbit, and Grey knights ruining chaos' day.

I'll take this over a dozen ultrasmurfs mucking about in the desert any day.

  • sweet god how has games workshop not thrown money at the maker of this, and fired everyone that worked on the Ultramarines movie?

  • Ok so them tanks @ 2:06 looked so good

  • This easily pwns the Ultramarine movie. Easily. Props to you and BOOOOOO to Games Workshop corporate. WTF are they doing!?

  • @clansmarine Games Workshop has given this fanmade movie the thumbs up.

  • @Deetozine Ah that's cool. I love GW obviously but their corporate decisions, pricing, crap quality resins, low quality books (Abnett aside) etc are testing the patience of many of us. But they still rule.

If they didn't give this a thumbs up it would be a bad show.thought wouldn't it? It has more detail and background in this short clip than the entire movie they blew a load of cash on. What a waste of a good cast.

Anyway sorry to be negative - this clip is amazing and I hope to see more

  • @clansmarine GW didn't finance the studio that created Ultramarines, as far as I know. And... I don't know, I kinda liked Ultramarines, in the sense that you'll probably enjoy cheap candy as much as the expensive stuff. It was basically a long clip of walking, but the voice acting was quality (IMO).

Talking about the models, holy **** I hate finecast. I bought an Emperor's Champion and.. No, just no. I got a free replacement that was also flawed. Not a fan.

  • @Deetozine Ah yea I know what you mean. If it hadn't been built up so much it would have been a cool short, but there just wasn't enough in it for all the resources to hand imo. Hard to go wrong with the original Aragorn in your voice cast tho ;)

Yea I'm loving all the fancy not-marines made by indie sculptors myself. Can't beat a terminator and some greenstuff for a lazy Sunday though.

  • @clansmarine Ultramarines would have been perfect at 30 minutes, with a bit more combat (And some sensible chaos marines.. Charging a gunline like that is, well, moronic)

Have you seen the Scibor miniatures? I'd love to field one of them, painted properly.

  • @Deetozine Yes indeed. Scibor is one of those independent sculpture places I meant. I use his parts and minis along with gw, hitech, kabuki, micro art and loads of greenstuff - there's some neat tutorials on his site about doing greenstuff armour bits if you're interested. They paint up great with a bit of effort alright. Lots of nice detail to work with if you know what you're about.

  • With propably one of the most dedicated fanbase of all, spanning generations already, why on earth there isn't a proper, bad-ass, kick-ass, and "HOLYFUCKNUGGETS THAT'S AWESOME" type of Marine versus Orc movie? Seeing the techniques are available to create even live animation that would look awesome, I suspect the costs are coming down every year, and there is definately a market for a good old-fashion bad-assery in space.

  • Just awesome, i love the look of the Grey knights and the effects are stunning.

  • It brakes my heart to see that GW can't hire any propper studio or fund any propper movie... and results of fanmade movies are way better than oficial releases.

  • there needs to be more of this. when that astartes ship is falling out of orbit...*shiver*

  • 22 people are from Games-Workshop Studio

  • INCUMMING!!!!!!!

  • James Cameron who did AVATAR back in 2009, should see this movie, It will bring the Darkside in to hippie/jungle planet: Pandora.

It will also leave James Cameron spellbound, if you what I mean?

    40k Rules :)****

  • Wow the cgi is SO MUCH better than the official stuff.

  • you made this by yourself and it looks awesome you really have some brilliant talent

  • Seriously, this is fandom at its best!

  • The only criticism I have here is the voice acting. Otherwise, everything sounds terrific, the animation is better than the freakin' official Ultramarines movie, and the plot, despite hearing maybe a fraction of a fraction of it, has me hooked already. Great job, and good luck on your endeavour.

  • @genesisversusevoluti Yeah the voice acting isn't too crash hot. But the most important thing that must be remembered here when it comes to voice acting is this. They MUST be British voice actors. No american ascent. British intellectual property, British books, British characters (IG anyway). British voice actors

  • @jc172197 But NO 'posh' accents! It was hard enough hearing the posh Cadian IG accents in Space Marine...the accents have got to fit. Looks like we get get to see the Grey Knights kicking Chaos arse-i'll buy it just for that!

  • @jc172197 Oh, yes. Absolutely. Because with a thousand thousand worlds in the Imperium, EVERYONE is going to be British. I guess Vostroya, Tallarn, and the homeworld of the Space Wolves chapter are all screwed. Sorry, guys. The Imperium has just disowned you.

  • @FeralKnight Yeah that's right they all will be british accents or the way Games Workshop wants them to be. So no the Imperium didn't just own us, that's the accent Games Workshop has the Imperium and everyone in it having not an american accent

  • @jc172197 Fair enough, though I think it depends on legion. I've always imagined the Death Guard as having American accents. I think it's 'cause they're fat, but still.

  • @jc172197 Dude, that's completely retarded, and I'm British. How can you tell this guy that his voice acting isn't good enough after the ridiculous amount of work that must have gone into this? What possible reasoning do you have, other than some non-nonsensical claim that because British people invented 40K, other nationalities can't use their voice actors for it? The idea that everyone in 40K uses the same accept even goes against the game background. And you spelt accent wrong, dumbass.

  • @jc172197 When you think about it, there could be any number of accents considering humanity is scattered across the stars.

  • @jc172197 actually no...they dont. thats just your opinion and preference. simply based off the 40k universe there are countless dialects, method of pronounciation, etc. when it comes to imperial gothic. british, american, austrailian, korean, saudi, mexican, technically anykind of voice actor would do depending on what system they're in.

  • 1:50

To lie to an Inquisitor is to forfeit your soul.

  • I'd have to agree with those who say that the voice acting and script need a little work - although this was a voice-over for a trailer and not indicative of the in-film content of course. Glad to hear you got Aaron D-Bowen for writer, looking forward to see how he'll do with a screenplay. Good to hear you have GW's support now too, this is gonna be a good 'un.

  • Voice actor and script could be better, but the animation was truly amazing. Really, really good job on this. Shame you weren't brought in for Ultramarines.

  • Dude, THIS, THIS IS YOUR WORK? its amazing. Just need a little bit more smoothness in the movements, and Jesus, those guys from Relic and co HAVE to get you in.

  • work a bit on the physics while the space marines are shooting and this will be the most epic shit i´ve ever seen!!!

anyway u did a great job!!!

  • Man that was awsom dude thumbs up for that one

  • Amazing, but please find a new voice actor <3

  • Holly shit man, thats was awesome. The only improvement i could maybe recommend is the voice acting, seems a little dull and cheesy to me, but other than that, kick arse stuff!

  • Throne, please make this!

  • dif got my support for this SUPPORT!

  • The animation is extremely professional.

  • i wish that games workshop would watch this and learn something about how to make movies..

  • Holy frakk was that awesome. Hope to see more in the future.

  • the homepage is down though.

  • EPIC. Please, I will PAY gladly up to 50 euros to see a movie of this quality. PLEASE MAKE THIS FILM!!!

  • I love this, but it severely needs better voice acting

  • 0:37 - What is this thing ? - A giant dick you moron

  • Dear god... EPIC!

    I... I think I just came.

  • Shut up and take my money!

  • I want to have your genetically enhanced babies...

  • I need this....NOW!!!!!!

  • read comments, watched trailer, liked, favorited, subscribed... holy flaming pieces of dogshit, i want more.

  • Grey Knights being badass?

    Jizz.....

  • Music at the end of this (awesome, btw) Trailer?

  • awesome. I am wainting for the movie so bad. really

  • I have a massive boner right now. For the Emperor.

  • ITS A LIE!

  • WTF?! You make better cinematics than the official ones from the games!

  • The animation is beyond fantastic - but you need to get together with a good writer and a few capable voice over artists - all the other sounds seemed quite good, though,,,,,

  • My god...I just jizzed!

  • i think you could make a great movie bro
