WB should make a plastic man big budget movie...who would play him? Definitely someone more serious than this guy on the video. Who was the actor that played Plastic Man in the live action segment?
I went and got the Plastic Man DVD set at walgreens it didn't have these segments. I remember these segments when i was a baby. I had to been 1 or 2 years old.
I barely remember this intro to the Plastic Man Comedy Adventure Show. But I don't recall the Plastic Family, Baby Plas, Heathcliff, Dingbat, Marmaduke, and Golide Gold being part of this show. I do recall Mighty Man and Yukk, Rickety Rocket, and Fangface being on here. Of course, this was back in 1979.
Thanks for posting and bringing back good childhood memories.
What a find. How did you come across the live action wrap arounds? Are they on DVD or is this from the original broadcast? Either way, it's fun to see any DC character in live form. We could definitely use a funny plastic man movie. Jim Carrey is starting to show his age, so if he's our man, he better get crackin'. The actor here, Taylor, did a pretty good job of mimicking the voice from the cartoon Plas.
This kind of fits with Plastic Man's origins as a reformed criminal--the whole side-of-the-mouth voice thing. And there SHOULD be a Plastic Man movie.
Just rented this from Blockbuster Online. Total Greatness. I read somewhere one time that Jim Carrey should play Plastic Man. After watching this again I agree that there could be no other choice for the roll. This Plastic Man even sounds similar to Jim Carrey. By the way I do the cheapest versions of Netflix Streaming, and Blockbuster online for the best of both. And I just noticed that Heathcliff is on Netflix instant. Pass that around to get 80s more stream time on NF instant.
Hey, thanks for posting this! I used to watch this every day! I feel sorry for the actor playing Plastic Man (is it just me, or shouldn't he have been called "Rubber Man". I mean, something plastic dosen't stretch once it's hardened).
What a cluster-fuck! This video has got me angry!

I remember this show and thoes live action bits. Although looking at it now he looks more like an Elvis impersonator more than Plastic Man. :)

Man I wish I had his powers ... not to solve crime, but to make my dick 9 inches long with a 6 inch diameter.

This is... Horrifying. This is probably proof enough that there is no such thing as a benevolent god.
