  • brangelina are today's elizabeth taylor and richard burton (in terms how media and people crazy about them.even tough brangelina is more gorgeous then elizabeth and burton were.especially brad far more.I still think elizabeth and burton were the most perfect couple ever

  • @RichardElden what did she do to you??? did she dump you?? did she steal your husband or boyfriend??? did she steal from you??? Did she get a part in a movie that you were supposed to play in???

  • @RichardElden Get a life. The poor woman is dead now and when she was around she had her day in the sun. Instead of being BITTER about other people's successes just BETTER yourself while you are alive and still have the chance.

  • Respond to this video... look at all the fat women all throughout society today! how can you call her fat???

  • @RichardElden oh my God ur such a hater.

  • Wonderful Tribute - Excellent

  • @RichardElden old age probably

  • @RichardElden He was never fat.

  • Nicely edited. I never saw the movie, but was fascinated by this edited clip.

  • Beautifully made, haunting music. Excellent

  • They really were and always will be the ultimate and ideal on and off-screen couple, throughout history,

The real Cleopatra would certainly have won those wars and ruled the world if she had even had a fraction of Taylor's beauty. The real Cleo had charisma, charm, and vast intelligence, and did her very best to keep her dynasty and legacy alive, using all she had, but alas, the true Cleo was far less than beautiful.

Anthony, the real one, was said to have been very hot-looking like Burton.

  • does anyone know what this music is? please let me know if you do.

  • @jaydeepje

I'd also like to note Alex North's incredibly gorgeous music score. He actually had instruments created from the wall paintings in ancient tombs in order to achieve as realistic as possible a sound for the film's music.

The mesmerizing themes North composed are an enormous part of the film's greatness.

    I adore this movie!

  • Elizabeth Taylor took beauty to a unique height, gave real meaning to the term "screen legend" and had compassion in her genes. I shook hands with Elizabeth Taylor and although she quickly but gently slipped her hand in and out of mine, I was trembling. I touched Elizabeth for a fleeting moment, but she touched me for a lifetime.

  • RIP

    Oh,Richard is so beautiful :(

  • do you happen to know what the quote was at the end of the movie when she died?

  • I have watched all of your videos of Elizabeth, Yiota, and I can't stop crying!!!! I guess we have to be happy tho as she is with her love Richard and her greatest friend Micheal I guess we must celebrate two amazing lives lived.I just hope they both know just how much they honestly meant and mean to me.

  • @RichardElden Again another disrespectful ignorant comment about things you know nothing about Is that all you have to contribute to the world??? You are utterly wrong again....

  • @RichardElden People that bash beautiful people inside and out are the ones that are in hell, I suggest you find another way of life cuz thats exactly where you're headed...GOD! I hate ignorant simple minded assholes!

  • @RichardElden I think you've made it clear that you know absolutely nothing about Elizabeth Taylor which gives you no right to comment negatively or leave a sort of nasty remark about her....or Micheal Jackson for that matter...you suck

  • @RichardElden Fuck off This is a time to have respect for the dead and remember what a talented gorgeous sweetheart Elizabeth was A time of remembrance not ignorance She's done more or AIDS than anyone ever has or ever will & thats to say the least...Dont you have something better to do than to scope out pages on youtube in order to bash someone...get a life and off youtube cuz this is or positive comments only..like dont even watch the video if youre just going to be rude...

  • can someone pls put the film in german in youtube?

  • R.I.P.

  • Absolutely lovely! Well done! So sad watching this now.

  • Esto es lo que sucede cuando se unen dos signos de agua.

  • Was a sensational selection of clips, thank you for putting this together so we can appreciate them both, especially at this time x

  • I heard that Liz & Richard met on the set of Cleopatra & when the kiss scene was made? The Directer yelled "CUT" But they still kept kissing...(I wonder who will inherit that rock of a ring he gave her? Well...I know it's not me! (sigh) R.I.P. Liz

  • This role of Cleopatra was her to a tee and with Richard Burton is what she will be remembered for!

Angie

  • Very nicely done - beautiful tribute from someone who obviously admired them.

  • @RichardElden No, he was Welsh, born and bred. He owned a house in Switzerland.

  • soy admirador de elizabeth desde hace años,para mi no morira nunca,y tu trabajo aqui hara que se la recuerde siempre.gracias.pedro.murcia españa.

  • Elizabeth will live forever....through our hearts!! She will be missed.... I hope she finds peace and happiness wherever she is right now!! At least now she doesn’t feel any pain. You have blessed us with your presents, and you left us with your lives’ work.

We salute you and wish you a farewell journey…..

Rest in peace my beautiful Queen!

Much Love, from one of your biggest fans…

  • @YiotaPam She was amazingly beautiful and her stunning performance as Cleopatra is more than inspirational. I remember having seen this movie for the first time when I was 11 years old and seeing her as the embodiment of true beauty.

  • Excellent tribute and very timely. I posted it on facebook. Thank you. It's very well done. Best, Tomi

  • R.I.P Elizabeth Teylor.

  • Just heard the news of Liz Taylor's passing :-(

    Rest in Peace!!!!!!!!

  • @RichardElden You are one nasty pig

  • @57monks A nasty pig indeed!

  • @RichardElden Well i don't suppose you answered my comment adequately in the slightest except the purpose being to express your own extremist views in order to get some attention/ support. I will leave you to your mentally debilitating thoughts now.

  • @RichardElden too fat? royalty had plentiful to eat, so they wud be plumper than slaves. Additionally, you might want to put your glasses/contacts on to assist you in viewing- she's average weight even by todays unrealistic standards.

  • @ScorpioGoddess1988 do I know you? did i say anything to you for you to make such a uncalled for comment? I must question how mature you are...mental age of 5

  • Liz is the queen of movie.. So beautiful Cleopatra all the time :D

  • Very nice tribute. The music is beautiful!

  • has anybody got the scene when richard burton goes crazy mad over cleopatra?

i love this scene, it think it realy captures how one can be driven crazy by love fro loving, well if you had your heart truly broken you know that pain and despair ,

    awesome acting by richard

  • BEAUTIFUL. A tribute befitting of all royal nobles. THANK YOU.

  • cleopatra was ugly elizabeth made her look like a godess

  • 5 Stars! Sublime! "Sublime" in my language.

  • Racist movie.

  • @JuanMacready You idiot. Cleo was Greek. The greeks conqured Egypt and sent greeks to rule it. Some idiotic afrocentric types try to claim ancient egypt was black, but even they do not claim cleo was black.

  • which 4 bell ends thumbed this down

  • its antony not antHony

  • Excellent video..

  • one of best ever videos i have see on youtube

  • Cleopatra is spinning in her piece. smh at white people twisting history.

  • A++++ video. Wonderful tribute.

  • I like more the Rex Harrison job in the Julius Caesar role than Richard Burton like Marc Anthony in this marvelous Mankiewicz's movie.

Why not apppears Rex Harrison-the other great star in this movie- in the video????

  • A very RACIST movie.

  • A racist movie.

  • WOW! So beautiful...edited so well,, and I cant wait to view more of your vids. LOVE THIS!

  • FOR ME THIS IS CLEOPATRA- THE BEST!!!.I very, very like filme!!!

  • Excellent !!

  • These two have loved as shit, if Burton were alive today would follow up with, in spite of their flats (problems), it endured a lot and it shows who is love, learn who are in love

  • Beautiful video . Thanks for sharing. Jessie

  • would be 10 times better without that fucking writing at the bottom. Still, beautiful clip.

  • p.s I loooove how when she's lying in bed at the beginning Antony's pictures appears above her wow amazing

  • BEEAAUUUTIFUUUUL

  • Not even Cleopatra herself could have looked as amazingly beautiful as Elizabeth does here.

  • No, she didn't. Liz struggled with her weight at times, but she was average height and was one of the most beautiful women of all time. As a teenager, she was declared the most beautiful woman in the world.

  • She was a fat ugly talentless whore who had aleady lost her looks due to all the cigarettes and alcohol.

  • Doubt they would have picked her to be Cleopatra opposite Rex Harrison and Richard Burton if she was ugly, fat, and talentless. Twentieth Century Fox spent millions on this epic movie and the producer obviously gave great attention to detail, so I don't think they would have messed up with the main character.

  • Thankfully this fucking awful movie lost millions and was one of the biggest flops in history. I hope the talentless menbtal whore joins her homosexual paedophile friend Wacko in Hell soon.

  • And your precious Keira Knightley that you absolutely adore is so much better, huh?

  • Well, she's not fat and she's much better looking. Taylor smoked and drank too much.

  • I don't condone Elizabeth Taylor's lifestyle and I never liked Michael Jackson because he certainly was a gay pedophile. I just can't agree with you that Elizabeth was ugly, fat, and talentless. And Keira Knightley is on the opposite side, if anything. She is most likely anorexic and might just die from her condition. That's not good, either.

  • hello?! talentless?! ever see suddenly last summer?who's afraid of virginia wolf?! cat on a hot tin roof?! w*h*re? who the hell died and made you God to be passing summary judgement like that?

  • The ugly fat slut never could act for shit and I hope she dies of CANCER and joins her paedophile child rapist friend Wacko in Hell SOON.

  • your personal views on her conduct and looks are certainly clouding your judgement regarding her acting skills and merits. That is probably also why you can't seem to be able to provide reasons for what you perceive to be her lack of talent. Instead you just rant and insult.

  • I never liked her cigarette voice.

  • what is a cigarette voice? husky and throat? hers isn't, not like lauren bacall's was, for instance (though I'm not even certain miss bacall smoked)

  • Lauren Bacall smoked like a chimney until the mid-1980s. I'm surprised you didn't know that, have you seen any of her old films? Elizabeth taylor was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer in October 1975 but it later turned out to be a misdiagnosis.

  • I have seen some of lauren bacall's movies but, since acting is acting, the fact that she is smoking on screen as part of her character does not necessarily mean she smoked in real life. There is a lot I don't know about the personal lives and choices of actors, especially when these have little or no bearing on their acting skills and talent. Regarding liz taylor's voice - you dislike it because it is inexpressive and flat, because it is a smoker's raspy voice or what?

  • Everybody smoked in the 1940s. I never liked a smoker's voice. If Richard Burton hadn't died from a brain haemorrhage then it would have been either lung cancer or emphysema.

  • I don't think Liz taylor's had a raspy smoker's voice but that's just me. But the fact that an actor smokes doesn't take anything away from his or her talent. And what's your point with richard burton's death anyway?!

  • don't think he was an overacting ham. He was certainly an alcoholic though. But I don't judge the former based on the latter. "He was lucky to die so suddenly" I'm sorry but you take way too much pleasure in the details of death and suffering of folks.

  • Well he was a racist who thoroughly deserved his death after smoking 100 cigarettes a day and drinking up to four bottles of spirits. Marlon Brando will always be far better than Burton, a graduate of the Shouting School of "Acting".

  • why was he a racist? I'm sorry, I'm not very knowledgeable of the details of his life. IT's true that if you binge-drink and chain smoke you are digging your own grave and have nobody to blame but yourself. But again, why the sanctimonious acerbity of "he deserved his death"? I think richard burton beat brando in terms of sheer raw talent. Unfortunately, he wasted it,his career never really peaked and never realized his potential so brando's body of work appears more imposing than burton's.

  • I think he was superb in Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf and The Taming of the Shrew, to many a few.

His readings of Dylan Thomas's poetry are also beautiful.

But that is just my opinion. So let us agree to disagree.

  • He was too small to play Henry VIII and his horrid raspy chain smoker's voice was all wrong for the part. They didn't even have tobacco until the late reign of Elizabeth I.

  • one can have a raspy voice without being a smoker.

  • He wasn't at all regal either. Just a poor attempt to duplicate the success of A man for All Seasons.

  • See Burton in Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf.

  • Very true. I've seen PeterFirthFan commenting on videos of talented superstars like Audrey Hepburn and Mel Gibson. He jokes about Audrey Hepburn dying early from cancer and he even said he hopes that Mel Gibson dies from lung cancer. This guy always has terrible stuff to say and he really needs to get a life. I think he may hate every celeb except for Keira Knightley. I don't get how she is so much better than the rest, but PeterFirthFan seems to think she is.

  • @addabboo She just looked short and fat.

  • why racist?

  • she descended from a greek dinasty founded by a general of Alexander the Great.

if you consider greeks as black, when then... cleopatra was black.

  • She was Greek. Cleopatra was of the Ptolemaic dynasty. This dynasty was Hellenistic, having been founded 300 years before by Ptolemy I Soter, a Macedonian Greek general of Alexander the Great.

Read up on your history before you make statements.

  • and you are dumb.

  • i prefer cleopatra`s story with julius ceaser

but liz with richard was just perfect :D

  • the best film ever!

  • Richard Burton was totaly better than Alec Guinness was

  • Liz gorgeous Rich SUPERB at work

  • I love it

  • I haven't seen this version of Cleopatra, one of my major faults, but promise I will. Anyway, saw this couple in "The Taming of the Shrew!" and I must say they were absolutely brilliant together! The perfect couple!

  • a story of eternal love..........

  • Beautiful video! Liz was so gorgeous in this film!

  • Ahhhhhh I read in a Elizabeth Taylor biography that during a kissing scene

Elizabeth and Richard just kept on kissing even when the director said "Cut!" TWICE.

    Like how hot is that.

Can you imagine being on the set?

    All the chemistry. Ahhh

  • Pretty hot, alright. Liz and Richard got together as a result of making this film. How ironic that a romantic movie couple became a couple in real life.

  • @CarlyIsAGangster nice! ;) which kiss was that?

  • @VthatsME I'm not sure.

    The biography didn't say.

  • Pretty beautiful video and some great music. Moving and spectacular and a great tribute to the couple.

  • Nice video Yiota.Keep making more of them like this =]

  • Beautiful, thank you.

  • You're clip was so beautiful. I am huge a fan of Taylor and Burton. I have even written an article about them for Uni. It was cool how your clip seemed to tell the story of both Liz/Dick, Antony/Cleo simultaneously. There seemed to be so much anguish in their faces. Unfortunately, I don't have the internet at home. I was wondering whether it would be possible to obtain a copy of your clip, so I could watch it on my mp3 player or home computer?

  • Thank you so much ilikeburton for your beautiful comment. Sorry for not replying earlier btw. As for the clip....well....i really dont know how to send it to you, except from msn/e-mail. If you know a better and easier way plz let me know!!! (If you want my msn/e-mail, you can get it from my channel) Anw ty again!!!!
