  • omg this is so interesting!! i really want to study medicine, especially surgery

  • @Lhouie27 I got a comment replying earlier. i just didnt see the machine so i kinda just went wtf?

  • I have NO education in surgery like a heart transplant but im pretty sure your not going to live for more than 5 seconds when your heart is taken out .-.

  • @TheFlyingTimbus that is why there are those tubes at 0:20, they are connected to cardiopulmonary bypass, it replaces function of heart and lungs

  • I hope that person is okay.

  • Thumbs up for the science, the medicine, and women's and man's that have courage to make it!

  • this is fake

  • @learnsports Haha, since when is it fake

  • They just take it out with their hands?? That's looks stupid!!

  • @Puffthecarrier1 what looks stupid about that? how do you want them to take it out if not with the hands? LOL

  • @Puffthecarrier1 how is that stupid, what did you expect? Them to use a claw machine like at Chuckey Cheeses??? Dont over think it.

  • Did he die?

  • Damn...in April or May i will have a heart transplantation too and i so stupid because im waching those things...Im so damn scared about those things and i really hope everything will be ok:(

  • @MrCristi37 it will be i am a two time heart transplant survivor and 3 years out i am a perfectly normal kid i know its scary but TRUST ME its gonna be ok

  • dear god... the aorta is so f-ed up... AND NO GLOVES!

  • @madcombineelite4222 He has gloves on. They are very form fitting, as you can imagine a loose glove is not optimal for surgery.

  • its squishy...

  • Amazing!

  • its amazing how this is done, i was always curious how they managed to rig it so blood would still pump without the heart

  • Don't be so heartless! ZING! that was totally a pun!

  • They allow this stuff on youtube but they dont allow porno??I mean i'd rather watch porn while im eating then when im watching this LOL.

  • @HIM666dark6light so you watch porn while eating?

  • 0:20 "uhm doc i think theres something missing here.."

  • @sir118 Nope, they just gonna make sure that the Aorta is okay and not fussing out.

  • FATALITY

  • So cool!!

  • did the patient survive after the operation?

  • its pretty sad for anyone who has to do this

  • incredible.

  • amazing! for some reason, i always feel sorry for the heart. that's weird but you know, it has to pump for the the rest of a person's life. amazing organ!

  • Hey he stole my freaking heart . Give it back!

  • New live= Happy end? :S

  • damn!!it hurts...

  • It looks like he doesn't wear gloves but he actually does.

  • my dad had heart transplant :(

  • since i was 6 but now 11 ive wanted to be a heart surgeon

  • sooo hard

  • Subhanallah.

  • Wtf I'm watching this while having my dinner!!!

  • um.......where are the rubber gloves.????

  • @midnightxrain33 There are rubber gloves. Surgeons use very thin gloves so they can maximize their dexterity in their fingers.

  • @spartin no man

  • did you know that this operation is TOTALY FAILED?? the patient died after that process

  • that person was dead 4 a sec!!!

  • how the fock can someons survive tht shit?

  • YUMMY...

  • DUDE! those surgeons are fucking amazing

  • He's wearing gloves. They're just clear, thin, and tight.

  • fuck mAAAIN

  • awwww you stole my heart ;)

  • How could anyone possibly do this job?

  • why doctor dosen't wear gloves?

  • @shienlen He is, if you look carefully you can see that his hands are shiny, no one will ever let someone do an heart transplantation with no gloves, plus it's filmed !

  • ahhhhhh!!!

  • no gloves!

  • gross!

  • How long can a person survive without their heart in a surgery like this?

  • Comment removed

  • @allway565 usually in heart transplantation surgery, cardiopulmonary bypass will replace the function of heart to pump blood throughout the body. can check in wikipedia about "cardiopulmonary bypass"

  • So many thoughts went through my head when he took out the heart...

    "You stole my heart!"

"I'll be taking that... lets see, this is the 47th one... yes, yes... ah, perfect!"

  • I'll cut ya fuckin' heart out:)

  • what does orthotopic mean?

  • @ikuto519 An orthotopic graft is transplantation of a tissue or organ into its normal anatomic position

  • @ikuto519 An orthotopic graft is transplantation of a tissue or organ into its normal anatomic position.

  • wow

  • I wanna squeeze one

  • 這應該不是人類的吧?看起來不像人的心臟

  • omg ur right no gloves hahaha

  • @nolanolson he does have gloves on they just dont look like he does!

  • No gloves...? Even after washing your hands and sterilizing everything there's still a microscopic risk of infection. Besides such tiny details great video.

  • I had a heart transplant 13 years ago

  • Sexy

  • im glad they didn't show the incision in the chest, and speading the ribs apart, I hate seeing that, looks painful. But the removal of heart, and new transplant is cool. Does anyone know what happens to the blood when the heart is removed, does it just stay still in the veins?!

  • they put you on bypass, thats what the tubes are connected to, it's a machine that pumps the blood through your body like a heart does, if your blood could just sit in the veins you wouldnt really need a heat would you lol.

  • DESCUSTING!

  • its wow

  • any got this surgery ???? if u do plz tell me how does this feel like after the surgery

  • i did when i was 4yo in 1993 in st justin hospital in montral. after the 7 hour opperation i was in a chemecaly indust coma for 5 days and i had to stay in montreal for 3 month to be clossely watch, but damn these days i see that medical tech had advance alot i met a 15 year old last year in march and he got his transplant in febuary and he was alreasdy out of the hospital

  • for 10000000$ would you eat some cerial and milk out of the hole?

  • @StupidMarioPlaya eah I would. During biology I played wih pig's heart (i think i licked it) so that should be no big deal... plus the money :D

  • Damn our body is just amazing. He/she has lots of cholesterol and did you that tear that was big. But still the doc could of taken the heart out more gently.

You know imagine Heart in tacos or tortas damn I'm getting hungry already. I'm Mexican and I love to eat intestine eyes tongue brains haven't tried heart.

  • i went into the same operation when i was 4 year old in 1993 at st justine hospital in montreal nice video

  • Really? how does your heart feel now if don't mind me asking?

  • na i dont mind it feels great in april 3 will be 17 year since the operation and it still pumping, since i'm a transplant i get watch by doctors what i mean is each year i need to take a trip to quebec city to get a check up witch is a serie of test like ultrasound x-ray, blood sample, ecg, and the worst is called coronarograph this the doctors got in my wrist with a long needle go in the artery of the wrist the push it to the heart and inject a colorant to see the heartery better.

  • That's crazy to see...I wouldnt know how to reconnect that back in.

  • incredible!

  • im in high shcool and i have anatomy class and where study ciculitory stuff and one question.. are u dead when u have hart transplant? without a hart... ur dsead.... am i right?

  • No.. you'r put on a heart lung machine untill the hook the new heart up. Are you talking about the peson who gave it? A yeahh.

  • haha the person donating the heart is dead but the one who is getting it has a machines hooked up that pumps blood to the body. ^^

  • not really they only put a machine in rare cases i know cause i went in the same operation at 4yo they put the machine when they remove the sick organ in order to prepare the donor organ

  • i had thiss dunnn

  • omg i had this done to me before i got my new heart

  • i'm doing this project called National History Day and I'm doing a documentary on organ transplants... i was just browsing around and i found this video... i think i'm gonna throw up.... it's helpful tho... quite unbelievable

  • Is he wearing gloves?!!??!

  • unbeliveable

  • this is amazing!

  • you can see the fats on the heart..

  • no more double western bacon cheeseburgers for me!

  • YEa im not gonna become a doctor anymore xD

  • you broke my heart :( haha

  • Shouldent he vear rubber gloves?

  • he is wearing latex gloves

  • yea theres a little bit reflection of light by the gloves

  • he was lol they look invisible but they are there just really clear...look closer.

  • @PREDATOR0140

he's wearing gloves they are a type of material that looks thin and allows feeling to be almost exactly like if he wasn't wearing gloves, but he is. No hospital would ever allow the surgeon to not wear gloves.

  • @PREDATOR0140 He WAS wearing latex gloves.

I wish they had put the whole surgery...hope you put on youtube an heterothopic heart transplant video!!

  • @PREDATOR0140 he is...

  • @PREDATOR0140 he's definitely wearing rubber gloves.

  • @PREDATOR0140 he is

  • @PREDATOR0140 He is.... there called Micro Surgery Gloves lol

  • @PREDATOR0140 he is wearing gloes.

  • @PREDATOR0140 Latex! Looks like he's got nothing on. You aren't a med grad or student are you?

  • @FULLOOKKK I'am not a med grad and I can see that.

  • @PREDATOR0140 he is.

  • @PREDATOR0140 He is...

  • "Guess this thing goes into the...uh...yeah that, sure" When the assistant was putting in the tube to keep the circulation going it looked like he wasn't sure where to put it. Amazingly difficult but made to look simple

  • I have already suffered 2 heart attack & have what my phsyican calls dangerously high triglycerides & LDL, and i was told that if i do not get these levels under control i will have another. This did frighten me and i knew i needed to do something to reverse this damage. I knew plant sterols were powerful so i tried Sterolyn, and i'm very proud to say that my triglycerides have gone from 512 all the way down to 155. LDL count down from 240 to 132. Great product.

  • JESUS CHRIST o.O

ISNT THT HEART BEATING A LITTLE TOO FAST? :S

  • That means its doing ok. Well apparently not, but if your heart beats fast then your healthy. Slow that means u need more exercize and lots of better food. This comment goes to xFIRExxxGIRLx

  • ohh okkkaayyy

    thnx for the info :D

  • probably the reason (s)he had a hearttransplant..

in heartfailure, the heart fails (wow) to produce an effective pumpfunction. This can be due to a lot of causes ( infarcation for example). The heart can get in to tachycardia (fast heartbeat) beause of this. and to prettyface: a slow heartbeat, can be physiological and can actually be achieved by exercizing a lot (the heart is a muscle, gets bigger because of training and therefore pumps more blood and therefore needs to pump less often)

  • oh ok

thnx for sharing this info with me :)

  • I think this is beautiful. I love the human heart, and its astounding how they can do that

  • great! i love it! 5/5

  • Wicked, I had a heart and lung transplant 18 years ago, and only just seen this. amazing, thanks for the info in the comments too... i know my vegas nerve was cut, but didn't realise it's left to a hormone system that makes my heart beat faster during exercise! good job nature had a belt and braces approach to heart beats, or I'd not be able to run around like I do : )

  • how long can a person live without a heart, i mean during the transplant?

  • not very long because they cant keep ur chest cavity open too long or you can end up getting sick and because the organ will die

  • wouldent they die if the heart is removed?

  • not in a heart transplant.

  • Did you in U.K. as a 30 years old really never hear about heart-lung machines?

  • nope coz the doctors would put the patient on a machine which pumps the persons blood around the body for them...

    i think

    :S

  • damn it.. why couldn't there be commentary.. i would have helped me for my assign..of well, in the spirit of borat, PUBMED I COMING!!!!!

  • I myself had an orthoptopic heart transplant in dec 08 and it is real that is what they do , madness believe me .

  • Ughh nasty. Still it's amazing how people find things like this out.

  • Haha, the doctor was like, "Gimme dat heart, bitch!" No but seriously, this is kinda gross. I can't look away!

  • no sound?

  • this is jus truly amazing wot surgeons can do today. Anyone have a kidney transplant video or info on where i could find one thanks

  • the wonder and the sheer amazement of modern times with heart transplantation is a miricle in its self but at least if put our names down on donor lists maybe the demand for organs may not be as high. Also if we are honest with ourselves what use organs when we are dead

  • yahhh....

    he's not wearing gloves.....

    thankz for sharing.....

my knowlegde is getting better because of this..

  • dude he is wearing gloves. look closely

  • because it's a heart...

  • indeed

  • eh?

  • @freddage91

youtube just fucked around with the answer function AGAIN.

  • das fastziniert mich echt oO

  • Good job yeah!!! ROX UHUUU DAWAĆ CZADU

  • how come on the Orlivedotcom video the heart creates some static electricity? or is it instruments that made it? and why cant u actually write the link to a website instead of having to write out dot?

  • If you mean the sparks in the videos, it's not the heart that creates that. It's the electrocautery (aka bovie) wand. It's like a soldering iron with a blade for the tip. It's used to stop bleeding (cooked meat doesn't bleed). Sometimes, as it cauterizes, it will produce a spark. I suspect that some of that might be fat vaporizing and spontaneously combusting.

The heart's sinus node can produce an electrical current, but it's not strong enough to generate a spark.

  • How does the brain still send messages to the new heart to start beating automatically?
