I say this at the risk of being a know-it-all-douche: Its always good practice to look through the driver's window/cage who is in front of you. You can see the guy parked pretty early if you do this. Awesome vid, very close call!
Great reactions! Great driving! Don't mind some of these comments- it's easy to be a sofa hero! You on the other hand spend the money, lie to your missus, race this series & are good enough to post clips like this! Your time hadn't come man!
Folks these are mili-second by mili-second decisions- maybe he missed a flag- shit happens in real time- anyone who's driven or even walked this amazing place will know - he's defo not sighted here... It just ain't like it is on tele... Well done dude- y
.plus...when you 'get off the throttle' at the wrong time, with a pack of angry Caterhams up yer chuff, that dude is certainly dead from the resultant chain reaction. Did you think of that, genius? Like i say, judgements, made fast, can't always be perfect.
On the waved yellows front, you try to make a judgement about whether to lift or not, it's really the cars in front staying in it, and the tendency is to follow what they do, since they have a better view at that point. It's the car in front having a look out to the left, that makes it such a near miss. It's not always as easy to make judgements in these situations (which arise very quickly) as some of you guys seem to think it is.
Christ. Well done on the avoidance front. I've known people just shut the throttle in panic and stop driving essentially, when something unexpected like that happens, so late...which would have killed that dude, more than likely. Well done mate! Best, Dave.
no if you pause it just before he passes it you can see it's another caterham that must have spun out and it now stationary on the track in a dangerous position.
get black flagged much?

Well, if the waved yellow on the right as you exited Eau Rouge wasn't enough of a clue for you to get off the throttle...
