Would you say these were a significant upgrade from your BX5a's? Could you list the pros/cons that you noticed immediately after first listening to the Rokits compared to the BX5a's? And if I were to just be listening to music, would the Rokits still be a better choice or?
@itsdannyftw the Bx5a's were awesome but I needed more, more bass basically the Rokit 8's definitely satisfy that, I had a hard time mixing low end on the Bx5a's but it's considerably noticeable with the rokit's, if you mix with nothing but the rokits you may have a little to much low end, but I switch between the rokit's and my headphones(witch lack low end) to see the difference in, there very loud, and they sound GREAT if your just listening to regular music that has been professionally mixed
@hitthedeckstudios you would need an interface to communicate between the computer's firewire or usb outputs to the speakers, I use and Mbox 2 of the Digidesign family as my interface
@hitthedeckstudios yeah we use that one in class sometimes at Full Sail, any interface will do really, but if your looking to hook up a mic or a MIDI keyboard to it then look into reviews for certain ones the Mbox 2 has done a great job for me these past few years
@noijze everyone seems to not like these monitors because of the "Muddy" low end but I actually like them alot it gives me more of a perspective as to what are DJ's going to hear when they play this in the club or somethin like that, I get a good mix out of em I think, most people would differ but it was worth my money I'll tell ya that
Thats Dope

Are your monitors plugged into a soundboard or directly to your computer via xlr y split to 3.5 cable?

@JacksonOlsen it's actually plugged in to my interface (digidesign mbox2) and the interface is plugged into my mac via usb cable

Nice set up. I just received my Rokit 8's can you tell me which cables are needed to connect them to my Imultimix8?
Denzelo26 7 months ago
@Denzelo26 you would need 1/4" instrument cables(2, Left and Right) for that mixer
