  • The way Jonathan pronounces Moran hurts my ears.

  • he's Irish so its pronounced mOran.

    He's not a Yank.

  • I wish he was my friend.

  • Why does everyone on youtube hate Ross? He's not especially funny but he seems alright to me.

  • Is it MOran or MorAn?

  • @QuirkBiscuits 'MOre-an' Think of other Anglicized common Irish names such as Connor, Murphy, Kennedy. In the Irish language, unlike say French, the accentuation is on the first syllable of the word 99% of the time. So KENNedy not KennEdy or KennedY. MORan, hope that helps!

  • @AgBorragh Cheers :)

  • Why do only Irish people know how to pronounce his name. It's so frustrating hearing J Woss say it so retardedly over and over...

  • lol at the people who think moron is sexy....ffs...sad

  • Talented people are very attractive. His talent is his brilliant humour. If he was a sneeze and had still lived the same life, he'd still get sexual admiration

  • Epic as always :)

  • Dylan is a bloody genius, and Ross is a total prat. I love the way Dylan is so gently condescending to Ross throughout the interview, what a refreshing change to see a performer with a brain.

  • he looks so bored.

  • He's beautiful but bloody hard work!!

  • 0:25 is just so...Oh.God.I.Love.You.

  • He is....... he is very nice to look at. In every way. Makes me miss Irland even more. And Irish men.....

  • My new hero!

  • He is so hot.HE IS SO HOT.

  • 0:23 - 0:25 My Fave part, he is just .. incredible, move over Mary Poppins, coz he is now Practically Perfect in everyway and more <3

  • Dylans show yeah yeah was the best mainly on mid life crisis tragedies wisdom. exercising with leg stretches as youre talking about superannuation, Julia Gillard horse head routine, the evil of women, soul mates, useless gadgets, death, religion, culture. when he smokes he is just like a cynical version of Dave allen but this interview he looks like he's off the dexampetamine and has ingested too many negative ions. Mind you the interviewer rushed Dylan to start with which got Dylan off badly.

  • Liven up Dylan! Geez

  • this guy's amazing!! but wanted to ask: does anybody have this video with subtitles? i'm russian and don't really understand some words cause they don't sound clear enough..

  • Johnathon Ross is such an annoying interviewer

  • as quite a sad illenformed 32 year old could some one tell me what 'bear nang' means. although judging from contexted I'm sure I'll agree with it ;)

  • @hc4jd If you here someone say "Bare mans up in the club, bruv", it means that there are too many men in the club therefore I consider the slang word "bare" (not meaning naked) to mean "Lots". "Bare Nang" must be something like "well fit" or "extremely attracitve" but I don't know, these kids twist words and create their own coded language because regular english is too much for them. I wonder what Shakespeare would think of "bare nang".

  • @hc4jd To be "bare nang" = to be very cool.

  • I'm seeing Dylan live on Sunday on his new tour. If it's as funny as the last three times I've seen him it will be one of the best nights of my life. He is truly brilliant.

  • @toobasaurus23

    whats the tour called?

  • @superhamzah85 It's called 'Yeah, Yeah'. Was his best show yet. I was still laughing when I got home.

  • They don't connect. Interviewer is kinda too agressive and insulting at times.

  • Just gonna add... AND the men. <3

  • How long ago was this video? What's Myspace?.

  • Dylan is definitely very sexy. at this age he reminds me of a combination of Rod Stewart and Peter Doherty. He is hilarious in the Black Books series.

  • Dylan Moran, What a legend... Single best Irish if not world comedian around in my opinion, not that well known though even here in Ireland surpriseingly.... : )

  • Ah, Myspace - happy days :)

  • damn wheres the black books????

  • @dogmatix15 You can want it on HULU.

  • so...not giving a fuck and being laid back = high status = healthy offspring = higher chance of survival = your inner female monkey going apeshit

  • master of bohemianism

  • i love how not bothered he looks, all the time.

  • Irish people in general are more sensitive and more intelligent than other Europeans.

  • @JohnSampson22 Nothing says intelligence like an extremely religious populus who blow each other up all the time.

  • I don't get it..why is he so hot? It's not like he's particularly masculine OR handsome..in fact, like he himself suggested, he somewhat looks like a woman who's really let herself go..lol. But I just feel all warm and fuzzy when I see him..is it that humor is really sexy? thoughts?

  • @NightinGal89 his sexy, in a ruff kind of hot Irish way

  • @NightinGal89 umh...dunno...Im a guy and Im baffled too...maybe it's his attitude...he doesn't give a fuck...and his body language is all smooth and indifferent...which are alpha male traits...if you've ever watched a documentary about gorillas you'd notice that the alpha gorilla just sits there and doesn't give a fuck while the lesser males jockey and fight for status...

  • @NightinGal89 its that he's so comfortable with himself, its refreshing and something we're not used to seeing.he is also very literate, straight talking n makes people laugh.

  • @NightinGal89 his eyes. hes got these amazing puppy like eyes.

  • @NightinGal89

no he is hot! cant explain why either. but humor is really sexy. im comedian obbessed!

  • @NightinGal89 its fame, fame makes people sexy... i have a friend of friend who does these shitty simpsons drawing things (chris simpsons artist) and he get e-mails from lasses all the fucking time

  • @tomthegingerkid

I disagree, it's not the fame... At least not with him. He's got that aloofness, and a sense of unavailability coupled with a sense of unfathomable intelligence. Look the way he looks at the host. It's pity mixed with boredom and irritation, as if he has to ENDURE the host and he purposefully makes the host uncomfortable and off guard with a simple insult and a turn of phrase. He is more alive because he shuns the modern world.

  • @loravine

And because his eyes twinkle cause he's irish.

  • he's so funny and mysterious and has such good views on life.

  • Apologies in advance...I am Australian after all...Is the interviewer's accent common as such? Substituting a W for an R as in "Dylan Mowan"?

I'm a huge fan of Moran's via Black Books and any DVDs which arrive in OZ. This vid gives me the impression that Moran OWNED this interview?!!!

It did appear that the host was incredibly vain and repeatedly tried to draw him into racial stereotypes.

Not that I object to racial stereotypes. If you don't reckon I'm fair dinkum you can get a dog up ya.

  • @greg313662 Johnathon Ross has a speech impediment which makes him pronounce his Rs as W ;)

  • @Redheadfury Ah, thanks for that. Seems a bit funny to call it an impediment as it hasn't impeded his ability to host a TV program after all. Not a fan, but I'm not the one making money sitting around talking to people you would just KILL to be next to.

I reckon he might just have been a wee bit out of his depth with Moran and still held his own though. I'd be stuffed!

  • He's so cute when he laughs at 0.25 lol

  • He's so cute when he laughs lol

  • MySpace, Hahah oh how a few years can out date something.

  • I'm seeing Dylan in June and I'm more excited about that than graduating from university.

  • "You're filling your life with all these gadgets and shite because you're bored"

Honestly just brought the biggest smile to my face.

  • not in my area hahaha

  • i think the magic metal box he was talking of is similar to weed xD

  • he's funny and sexy

  • Dylan Moran is pure class! feckin brilliant!

  • when dylan says he's finished touring does that mean he's never touring again?

  • @greatsayain In this interview? He's toured since with 'What It Is'.

  • @greatsayain no, he has a new tour in 2011 called 'yea yea'

  • @frank32310 sweet, di u have a link to the tour dates and locations?

  • @greatsayain no, sorry, i just saw it on his website

  • hahaha good man Dylan,

cuts ross in two, in fairness i have great time for JR but he starts at having ago at him about being irish and dylan aint having any of it.

JR is so good and making a fool out of ppl, but at the same time promoting them, but dylan doesnt stand for it.. brilliant

  • @StripesndSuch thats it! i thought i knew his face! Mr frodoooo

  • Okay. He must be doing it on purpose. NO ONE is that sexy by accident... right?

  • @ThingsWeSaidToday I think its because he doesn't know that makes him so sexy, he's not trying. Plus he's irish :)

  • @ThingsWeSaidToday He's a scorpio.

  • the man next to nigella lawson is tiny

  • @jesuschristlolomgwtf it's Elijah Wood ;) He plays Frodo Baggins in Lord Of The Rings...just thought I'd tell you though you probably already know ;)

  • Ireland 1 England 0. hehe.

  • haha Frodo's loving it.

  • 'like totally' isnt nearly as good as 'monster'.

i dont think you can say anything against JR here. it's dylan's style to make interviews as uncomfortable as humanly possible haha

  • poor wossy! dylans too cool..it jus shows how good jonathan is to even attempt to match moran word for word

  • I like that, at the beginning of the interview, Ross goes through this business of "how do you pronounce your name, I want to get it right etc" and then, at the end, he says it wrong :P

  • which excerpt from BB were they showing?

  • @uzirnis Bernard acting drunk in the 2nd ever episode, when he offers Manny the job in the shop

  • what we have here is that dylan moran is a man from the wrong time...he should of been interviewed by parky ala the 1970's when interviews gave you more of an in sight into the person and when celebrities had a personality, stories to tell and a life philosophy i can see him smoking away sandwiched between i dont know Ali and Peter O toole. Sadly chat shows arent like that now.

  • Man the host is a twat, haha

  • I don't think Nigella gets any of his jokes.

  • @CheeseBoyz She's just concerned that he doesn't like his veggies.

  • His laugh at 0:25 !!!

    XD XD XD

    *dies*

  • I think the truth is you fill your day ,most of the time,by being in the washing machine of your own mind, thinking whats this, when does it stop,am I enjoying it ,oh i don't know,oh it's time to go to sleep,I can't ,I'm worried.

    Pure genius

  • he has an element of not caring about him which make him brilliant too and he's so right about the worry, and the washing machine of your own mind. it's soo true.

  • This whole interview played on stereotypes, Dylan is brilliant, but this interview was painful.

  • Why do people keep saying he's relaxed?! He's nothing like relaxed!

  • i would ;) dylan noran tht is lol

  • awww he gets so excited when Ross tells him he's sexy :P

  • i have never seen anyone look so relaxed on a couch.

  • @biffington oh your comment made me laugh a lot :)

  • ooooh is that elijah on the couch over there??? yay!!

one of my favourite actors with my all time favourite comedian XD

    learn from his awesomeness elijah!!!

  • 0:25, after seeing nearly everything Dylan has been in, that's the first time I've heard him laugh like that.

  • @SUPERTOUCHOX2 Truth!

  • @SUPERTOUCHOX2 Truth!

  • JR is completely in control. All of dylans rants are fesd to him. They would have discussed this interview before hand, Both are working as a team. Both are great.

He feeds him the intro to HOBBIES, MAKING FOOD, HOW HE INTERACTS WITH THE MODERN WORLD, etc. all planned loosely before the show... all topics dylan loves to riff on. Perfectly and profeszionally staged to release the best of Dylan

  • @glowpunk that's probably why he's so relaxed (apathetic), cos he hates the phoniness of pretending it were a spontaneous interview

  • @glowpunk Parkinson > Ross.

In fact, almost every interviewer > Ross

  • @glowpunk utter bullshit. "JR" doesnt know anything about profesional work. thats just dylan being himself

  • @convictPKlol no it is pretty how much talk shows work. I got to sit in on pre interviews for talk shows before....It allows the guests to hit the mark every time. Smoke and mirrors. They have pre interviews. JR is a great host and Dylan Moran is a God of comedy. But yeah it is show bizz.

  • @glowpunk ever considered he is naturally funny?

  • @kachekieran yeah, he is the funniest comedian in the world for me... im just saying that these guys work together on chat shows... He is comedic genius... and very funny. At no point did i say he wasnt brilliant, a comedic genius... what i am saying is that his work takes practice and rehearsal and that he and ross would have had a pre interview as per Standard operating procedure... Great comic

  • @glowpunk yeah i know now haha sorry u were completely right in what u said

  • @glowpunk Keep telling yourself that. The hat bit? Not staged. The low, dead silences? Not staged. Not everyone likes Ross.

  • @hanksingle ? dont understand? could you say what you are saying another way, please

  • Comment removed

  • Oh man, Dylan OWNS Jonathan. He seems so annoyed with his generic questions.

  • Dylan is hilarious but I think it would be difficult to talk to him as he would just say "What? where am I? Can i eat this? Why is the cheese not flying?" He is the definition of random =P

  • @Angelsdownfall He isn't the defi ition of random. I hate it when people use that word incorrectly. His comedic style is that of exaggerated bewilderment.

  • Jonathan Ross is a useless, egomaniac f*ckwit who ruins everything he comes into contact with, a kinf of reverse midas touch. His natural home IS the BBC which is generally so f*ckwitted itself about what anybody might want to watch that Ross is practically the only thing they've spent money on apart from costume drama reworkings of Radio 4 listeners' favouritie book (it's 'Jane Eyre' btw).

Dylan shouldn't appear on the BBC at all. It's a corporation designed to prevent his genius.

  • @jimixsx Thanks. You said what I wanted to. But so much more eloquently than I ever could.

  • I adore Dylan ^_^ <3 But he doesn't half look awkward in interviews. Though most people I admire are, maybe it's a sign of genius ;)

  • People are idiots, one of the main reason Dylan is able to be so funny here is because he's working so well with Jonathan. He's a funny guy period, but all the topics he discussed were ones Jonathan brought up.

  • "I'm waiting, I'm waiting untill teh y get all this kit in one 6x3 inch lump of metal and you just stick it up your arse and it does everything" hahahaha

  • Great interview

  • you can just tell Dylan's thinking

"i cant believe they're paying me to talk with this prat... i cant believe they're paying HIM to be the one i talk to"

  • if he says 'mo-ran' one more time i'll scream!!

stop arseing up mine and Dylan's name!!!!!!

  • @themadam298

dude, he has a speech impediment, grow up

  • @themadam298how is it pronounced? I mean it looks obvious, but being english i automatically say it like Jonathon, and apparently thats not true.

It just feels like to be morran it should have 2 rr's...

  • @Deathscent089 you pronounce it "MORE-IN" kinda quickly =] I suppose I find it annoying because it is one of the easiest irish names to say and spell we have. but then again, i think all this 'mo-ran' stuff started in america...

  • @themadam298 thx, yeh I find it more awkward cos I live in Ireland, and I am really conscious about saying the name wrong. I got it from the voiceover/into person from the live at the apollo stuff, so they say it wrong too. Must really annoy Dylan lol

  • DYLAN MAKE MORE BLACK BOOKS! NOW! :D xxx

I love him! :D xxx I love his version of life! Then the jam bit :P

  • To be fair, I think Jonathon Ross was really nice here, and Dylan Moran is quite hard to interview as he sounds a bit monosyllabic.

  • wtf is bearnang?

  • @kraigus I want to know what bearnang is too?????

  • I think he just told us to shove the iPhone up his ass. I love this guy.

  • "I think the truth is that you fill your day most of your time by being in the washing machine of your own mind thinking whats this, when does it stop, am I enjoying it, I don't know, is it time to go to sleep, I can't, I'm worried and then you wake up and smear jam over your family's face and then you're on."

  • He doesn't seem to like talking about himself, maybe that's why he looks so bored. He creates humour from everything ross asks him, naturally, but it's as if he'd rather make a joke than answer a question about himself. we wouldn't have him any other way though (:

  • ross kept prounouncing his name wrong so i'd say that was annoyin dylan

  • Dylan seems bored with him. He is way too quick for him.

  • i dont like all these comments saying dylan outstages ross nd bla bla, ross did a fantastic job as a presenter, he promoted dylans show and standup and kept on coming up with interesting questions for him...nothingmore to ask from him, and also u have to admit.although hes outstandingly funny, moran seems hard work for an interview

  • He calls him Dylon Ryan at the end of the interview. ha! what a pro

  • 5:28 Nigella is looking really worried about the cauli-blackjack thing...

  • @stuirteag i know..she could be a vegetable herself..meanwhile elijah wood is laughing like crazy so you know they can hear the jokes from where they're sitting.

  • did he say dylan ryan at the end?

    i think so!

    fwuck sake

  • Coincidentally, I'm waiting for that three by six myself.

  • @FreedomValentine aye, many of us are, we're hearing rumors along side the new iPhone

  • fucking leg end!!

  • What. Dylan Moran laughed.

    He actually laughed.

    THE APOCALYPSE IS COMING!!!

    Love the guy. Genius.

  • and what a wonderful laugh it was. :P

  • @Genomatekk Yeah no joke it's nice sounding xD

  • @Soccerpersonz10 Oh, you should watch the black books season 1 bloopers, it's the scene from episode 4 where he's explaining to his friend's son about the "old countries" songs. At the end, he does an extended laugh similar to that one. It's great.

  • too funny!

  • "I think the truth is you fill your day most of the time by being in the washing machine of your own mind, thinking, what's this, when does it stop, am I enjoying it, I don't know, it's time to go to sleep, oh I can't I'm worried!"

    Sheer unadulterated brilliance.

  • jonathan ross sucks on this interview and he's no much for moran

  • no match sorry

  • I love Dylan. The ultimate anti-hero. I hope he never stops!

  • i love how Dylan actually looks genuinely bored during this interview. It's so entertaining to watch Wossy trying to get Dylan interested in talking about himself, and you can see Dylan just wants to get as far away from him as possible

  • @check0boards dylans quite reknown for being a difficult person to interview, he doesn't do too bad.

  • I think JR is getting a lot of unfair criticism here. Let's face it, Dylan is not an easy interview and JR always had to be quick to come up with follow up questions.

For ppl saying Dylan shows him up here that's a bit harsh. You have to remember these interviews are not just for the benefit of the host but JR does his best to promote the Black Books and Like Totally DVDs. I thought he remained thouroughly professional throughout the interview!

  • very much agreed

  • I agree somewhat on Wossy. People are quite harsh...but would it have killed him to do a little research? He didn't know Dylan did stand up? Lord almighty.

  • JR didn't even know he was a stand up ffs!

A bit of basic research wouldn't have went astray

I agree that Moran would be a very hard person to interview though, like getting blood from a stone. Brilliant!

  • Of course he knew he did standup...he introduced a clip from Like Totally didnt he?

Its just a standard interview technique to get the guest to elaborate and explain to the audience. Remember, these interviews are for the public to learn about him, not JR. Interviewers usually already know the answers to most of the questions they ask!

You need to look at it from the perspective that you don't know who Dylan is, and millions don't, that's the sad thing.

  • @popjoeandco oh god. why do you make comments about things that you know nothing about? Are you an interviewer? Did you discuss the interview with JR beforehand? No you didn't. Do you know anything about making television? Why would he be hard to interview? He talks about anything, you just need to prompt him. Just shut up, your opinion would be useless even in meeting of retards who are discussing how to make orange juice.

  • @NoHiddenNames

Do I know anything about making television? Well I'm an editor for a tv channel so the answer is yes.

Why would it be a hard interview? Because Dylan doesn't just answer the questions, he goes off in irrelevant tangents which means JR can't have his set questions ready, which he does for ALL of his other guests.

JR didn't know any of Morans stand up material. He says this in part 1of2 at 3.58

So basically you're an idiot with with nothing to back yourself up with. Good lad

  • @popjoeandco oh really?! your an editor for a TV channel?! which one? I seriously doubt it. Lying to redeem yourself is gonna make you look more stupid. As you should have noticed, JR goes off on tangents with most of his guests, if you think that he just sticks to his notes then you clearly know nothing and definitely aren't an editor for a TV channel. JR is a top notch interviewer and show host, that's why he has been doing it for the past 20 years for a very reputable TV channel.

  • @NoHiddenNames

Yes I'm going to tell you which one, that makes plenty of sense.

Oh and who said JR isn't a good interviewer?

You completely missed the point I was making anyway. JR struggled in this interview. If you can't see that you're not worthy of any more replies

    Good luck

  • @popjoeandco How exactly was he struggling? please tell me, improvising doesn't mean struggling. The only thing that you could say about JR in this is that he is made to look less funny than usual because of the comic genius in front of him. If you cannot handle a difference of opinion and thereby refuse to reply then shame on you. Thanks for the offer of good luck, it was unexpectedly kind of you, good luck to you to.

  • @NoHiddenNames Look, I like JR and do think he is a decent interviewer. I have no vendetta against the guy. But at the end of the day I think he could of got more out of this interview as he seemed a bit un-easy. It didn't flow like most of his interviews do. This is my opinion. You have your opinion which you are perfectly entitled to. People don't always agree on things

  • @popjoeandco OK, one mans uneasy is another mans bacon sandwich. I am aware that we have differing opinions as i spoke about in my previous comment, but thanks for the clarification. Anyway, have a good weekend.

  • @benjyyy You'd think Dylan shot JR given some of the comments here.

  • @benjyyy JR deserves more criticism. I mean the first thing he brings up is potatoes and stereotypic, then modern technology myspace. For a guy who likes blackbooks he sure as hell does not get the drift that Dylan doesn't like the stereotypic arrogance and heavy reliance of modern technology/communication. This host is a complete jerk

  • @wishwizard Which is why it's worth asking him on those topics to let him articulate.

  • @wishwizard i agree with you i get the vibe like that at times too as i said with nathan from misfits and there was a bit of rudeness with dar o brien in a early interview

  • @wishwizard Are you kidding? Dylan is a comedian and more than used to this stuff. In fact, a good proportion of his material is about stereotypes and prejudices. He can handle it don't worry.

  • @benjyyy that is just the point, he uses stereotypes to show how prejudice we are about society. And this host is the perfect example of what he doesn't like he even has that English arrogance about potatoes.

  • @wishwizard teeheeehee english arrogance about potatoes, hahahhahaa

i believe the english actually quite enjoy potatoes...
