if you are accelarating on a slope surely lower gear would bring better result

also 500-1000 revs over the power peak would bring better accelaration, depends on how much the curve drops after the peak

@konholio2 You are kidding right? The factory limits your redline where they do for a reason. It's because that is where the cams can no longer efficiently keep up with the speed of the engine. All you do is fuck up your motor at that point and the engine and cams are tuned to operate within that range from the manufacturer. There is NO point what so ever in over reving your engine.

also everyone driving their car on high revs shouldnt assume that their engine will last long

Then said the 7,000 rpm redline was good enough, but some tool drives the car thinks he knows better. They build the car to make PEAK hp based of the rev of the engine and the gear ratios. So if you shift quickly you can keep you it in the power range. So PLEASE keep your idiocy to yourself. Class dismissed!

in any case, if you watch it again, looks like he just wanted to hit 100km/h without changing to 3rd. (7k @ 2nd gear looks like 90km/h)

and if this vti had the original b16a2, redline = 8k

its pretty good to reach 8 seconds with non vtec 1.5 engine . mine is a jdm d16a vtec equals d16z6, and did it to 100 in 7.5 seconds , it's less than factory spec , 1995 d16a virgin vtec engine 15 years old and been through 140k !
