  • wow ! what a clip !!!

well done and thanks for posting !

  • What a great video. How elemental rock music used to be. This wasn't called roots music or Americana back then...it was Top 40...just AM radio...and they had the courage to play truly innovative, COMPOSITION BASED music. Fogerty was the Stephen Foster of the 20th century.

  • Like the rhythm. Like John Fogerty.

  • cool tune

  • Doug Clifford sure knew how to grow a beard!

  • So sorry! It is Johnny Cash.... Again, My mistake!

    Aloha!

  • Nooooo, The MC announcing the CCR band was Dick Clark...

    Aloha

  • no...that was johnny cash,its his show.

  • Must be great to be part of Cash-Show...Creedence!

  • Sorry, I see it's in the Johnny Cash show

  • The voice announcing CCR, could it be possible that's Johnny Cash???

  • Yes it is.

  • @ingridjuh23 Yep.

  • John's Hair is fucking legit dude

  • Really need to watch more of the johnny cash show for gems like this

  • i like how in the book the shining this is heavily referenced and the lead singer looks a lot like little Danny Torrence

KUBRIK HAS INVADED THE MUSIC INDUSTRY. GNEO MY GOD....

    what next?

    sonic youth perhaps?

  • It's a shame that this is a lip-sync of the studio version.

  • the music is synced but the vocals and drumming is live, they use to that alot back in the 60s and 70s

  • I went back and listened to this again - you're right. There's subtle differences in the vocals, but I would think there would be a concern about the live drums interfering with the taped drums.

And you can hear the typical CCR three guitars in the mix, but only two guitarist on stage...

  • no john plays lead, tom plays rythem...only 2 guitarist in recording..and when recorded you can make tapes to not have drums and vocals on them,,alot of 60s performances were like tht

  • Many CCR tracks have three or more guitar tracks, despite the fact there were only two 'guitarists'. Typically, John would open with a prominent lead or rhythm riff and Tom would back him on acoustic or F-hole electric. Then, during the song, John would do his usual vocal/lead back-and-forth conversation on a third guitar track.

I've spent a large amount of time unraveling CCR songs.

  • I understand about masters and mix-downs and alternate mixes. The trick is preserving them for future use and not erasing the tapes after the pressing masters are made. Not everybody does that. CCR certainly made Fantasy Records a large amount of money, but it doesn't mean they preserved the tapes for live appearances or even posterity. Fogerty and Saul Zaentz never had that kind of relationship.

  • "Fogerty and Saul Zaentz never had that kind of relationship."

In the early days they did. Fogerty even looked up to Saul as a father figure, but all Saul was about was using CCR as a commodity. He had no problem pitting the band members against John, also.

    What a shame.

I agree with your "3 guitar" analysis. I hear that in a lot of their tracks too. John added all sorts of extras after the others left the studio; percussion, sax, etc., to make the songs perfect. It shows, doesn't it?

  • You are right.

  • thats real Rock n Roll very nice song love it

  • Rock 'n'Roll!!!!
