Carnage has limits, because he isn't hating anything. He is just pathetic and insane - He likes to kill people. The symbiotes are getting stronger when their host hatred increases and Eddie Brock had always a lot of hate in himself. He became stronger during the years and I would say that he could defeat Carnage without BIG problems. Now where he is Anti-Venom he wouldn't have problems with Carnage at all, but... Carnage is supposed to be dead right now.

That is why venom is more powerful than spiderman was when he had the black suite: Eddie Brock bonded with it better than Spidey did. You can always go to the site and see.
