Yo this is so true, I know i've delt with this alot in my music like every time I would release a new track with dope beats but a scriptural based viewpoint it wouldnt get cred, now i'm learning to make songs identifying with people bringin, the same message to the table but comparing it at a modernized level, check my channel and you can see what i mean:D
It really just depends on the calling and annointing some people are called by god to do what they do and reach the masses because its god and some people honestly do what they havent been called to do and thats why they arent so Skillful and dont reach many people, there are wack artist in the world who live according to the flesh and reach people who live that way and there are people who are in the world but not of it who reach masses you know the tree by the fruit. but i agree though.
Christian rap has come a long way and actually has now gone past secular artists. The sound quality is great and the words are spiritual and faithful to the Word. For those who will not or don't like listening to people like James Cleveland, Christian rap is a great alternative. Many unsaved people DO listen to modern forms of Christian music like rap and hip hop because that's what they're into.
@matthew11and25 great video :-)!!! Best you've made so far in my opinion. My friends accept lecrae but are drawn to secular music more & dont pay any attention to his music. Listen to this song called unthinkable by T-Ned, he talks bout this a little
@DJDuncan100 I looked the song up on Youtube, and i like it. Thanks for the recommendation. I appreciate what T-Ned is doing as far as trying to reach the younger generation. Thanks for watching and commenting! God bless :)
Christian Rap as a whole isn't whack. It's the individual songs and albums that decide that. Some of it is wack when they use these secular slangs and terms without researching what they mean or they try to give it a different meaning. They took "swag" and ran with it. Then there's the usage of the secular beats and oldies music. I wouldn't say all is wack but rather some is
@matthew11and25 yeah i did. i listened to Christian rap well before I came to Christ and I liked it. Some artists focus have strayed away the overall purpose.
@reezon3 so then what should a saved person listen to, secular music? i listen to christian rap, some of it is kinda whack w/whack beats and lyrics, but there are others that i would sit there and bump to because like she said, the quality and lyrics are great, and christian music contains different messages, for both the lost and saved...so i have to disagree w/u right here...it is not only for the lost...great vid girl...
@3layerzdeep I agree with you, but what im sayin is I feel like christian rap should have more conviction and prophesy in it, warning people from whats about to go down in this world. I know we both can agree that most of this christian rap is bubble gum, and only entertains saved folk. She was talkin like only saved folk is goin to listin to the music, and if its like that then we need to change the way we make the music. The music should be more for the lost soul and created like dat. The soul
@reezon3 I didn't say that Christian rap should only be made to reach saved people, but it should only be assessed by saved people. The truth is that we all need to hear the gospel, no matter what stage of our faith we are in. As people who were of the world but who have come into the light, we should know enough to recognize what will reach the lost without compromising the truth. That's all I meant. But like I said, only people who are of God will end up embracing the things of God.
Great vid sis.i was the same way before I got saved really picky in who I listened to,lyrics were key.and its true Christian rap is conviction and wisdom not everyone is crying out for that.negative is the new positive for a lot of people.hope to see more from you.madd love
@CanvasLife Right. I'm just grateful that God pulled me out of that darkness. Otherwise, i might be listening to people like Odd Future and trying to justify it =/ Thanks for watching, bro!

@12we34be But you came to Christ, right? That's my point.
matthew11and25 8 months ago
@matthew11and25 Yeah, but the music itself wasn't what caused me to get saved.

I think christian rap should be for the sinner...u make music to pull souls outta hell not to entertain saved folk.
