He's really good, but just because you can play extremely fast an accurate doesn't mean you have to do it all the time, some of the beats sounded like shit compared to what the guitars were doing.

I met frost here in phoenix az, I had tears in my eyes when I met him haha, shit was crazy to see my favorite drummer in person, my drumming is inspired alot by frost check out my vids on my channel.

That slower part at 2:34... he can put so much power/feeling not only in his fast drumming, but also in the slower parts he is a master at his craft.

I`m a black metal singer myself, but i have an innate respect for black metal drummers. It truly is one of the hardest music genres to master, even if only in physical intensity.

like I said, Frost is beyond sick, he's terminally ill. If you study his playing, he's more than just a fast hard hitting drummer, the guy is definitely one of the most creative, innovative and intuitive players today. Don't let his speed fool you, his extreme drumming has so many subtleties it's unbelievable.

I have a friend who toured with frost. He told me that frost used his kit for one of the shows. He also told me told me he had to buy a full set heads the next day XD

This is awesome. So fast, so precise, and he got consistently better with every recording throughout his career up to Hellfire (no disrespect to Frost, just that the newer 1349 or Satyricon albums weren't as good a showcase for him).

He obviously has seriously good technique, but it's one I don't see a lot of other drummers using. Seems to hold his shoulders and upper arms very rigid. Looks tiring, and not just because of the speed.

After Talking with Frost I (Anton of SDM) walked away with a whole new level of respect for one of the best heavy drummers ever. He is truly a Master of his craft and treats what he does from an approach like very few. When editing video one really see's how good someone is and when i did the Frost footage he is flawless not just one song 55 min worth ;). I am honored to have filmed him and look forward to doing more in the future.
