Hey Richard, I didn't realize you had the video up already I just finished watching both of them. I thought they were great, & dad likes them too. Thanks again Howard
Hey! This is Sarah Leeanna Hoover and Henry is my super awesome Dad! Thanks for putting this on here! I really think it's great that you think this much of his Canjo's!!!! Dad's number is 931-879-9955 if you want one!!!
One of the best uses for a can of Spam. Spam originated and continues to be made in Austin, MN. I used to work down there occasionally when I lived in MN and just driving through the city on the main highway, you could smell the Spam being made. Nice smell if you like Spam, if not...just hold your nose for about 10 minutes!
@donbehatin Did you have one of Henry's? I had one of the others and lost interest in it pretty quick. This little rascal makes a lot of music and feels good in yer hands..
@rpeek Nah, some guy at a flea market made the one I had. It was well made and intonated, though. Seemed like the guy put a lot of thought in it. I think I paid $30 or $40 for it, somewhere around there.
@donbehatin Henry gets $35 for these. It'd be worth buyin' a bunch of 'em and addin' a couple of pegs to make a 3 string. Neck is wide enough and strong enough..
@rpeek That's a good thought. The neck on mine was a bit too skinny to add 2 extra strings to... but I think one extra would be doable. I might build one of my own. They don't exactly sound like anything else on the market today. Might even make a 4 string version and tinker around with different tunings (GBDG (G major) or EBEG (E minor).
I imagine all the strings would have to be tuned rather high to get a decent tone out of it.
Hi, I'm hoping to make a canjo in the near future and am just wondering where to order banjo parts for fairly cheap. Thanks, and great vid!

@clownfragment
An online store called "C.B. Gitty" has great prices for parts for folk instruments. (I buy instrument parts all of the time.)
StewMac and grizzly tools also have parts.

A great meal for the EARS.

Nice one. The construction of the string running through the resonating body is kind of interesting.

@hrlarson Yea, tis.. Think it adds to the sound.

I had one with a pork & beans can instead of a Spam can. Thing was fun to tinker around with, for sure. I prefer my actual guitars, though. =)

Something to think about, as you always say.
