  • shes talking on the cell phone while shes driving isnt tht a bigger crime then speeding

  • We need to be investing into better technology now before we need it and don't have it. One thing you guys have to get though...ELECTRICITY IS NOT AN ENERGY SOURCE! It is a conversion. A conversion that is mainly supplied from OIL. Also, the tires, plastic, etc...are all made out of OIL. This is a step in the right direction but it will only SLIGHTLY prolong the inevitable. Oil will run out. We need to think past this. What they did and are doing is wrong but it is said and done. Let's innovate!

  • on the waterfront, by George Gershwin.....somehow a bit too appropriate

  • the electirc car was doing well in 1911, so the secret is generational.

my grandmother spoke of seeing it as a young woman. but there was a war, the war

of oil companies wanting to rule the world. the oil guys won.

  • @donze52 Nope, i mean that may be true today, abotu the old companies, but if you do some research you will find that electric cars back then were very expensive, and yes took ages to charge, the problem was that when they got a large oil supply then it became very cheap to make cars that worked with gasoline, and so it was easy, the more expensive electric cars died out, it wasn't because of the evil oil companies.

At least back then, i might agree with today tho.

  • @a01087483 thanks for your thoughts,

    keep safe

  • Its not loving the car its loving what the car can do. We had this technology in 2000 and y couldn't it have kept going well i can tell you y look at the people who now own all of this country OIL COMPANIES they killed the electric car and they continue to do it to this day and y because we are nothing but money hungry and soon that will be a end too us. srry amercia but i dont feel we have much of a future, oil companies do we however are screwed so enjoy life while you can...

  • So the electric cars were stolen from people driving them? Whyyy doasss theiss habbon? Sorry I was crying hysterically there. Oh, go buy a F''ing Volt you tree hugging bastards with you own money and create a demand for them. Oh that's capitalism you want the gOV to pump stolen money into them. Sorry.

  • There's a Sequel!:

Go to facebook dot com slash revengeoftheelectriccar. My bad (youtube won't allow URL's)

Like it to become a fan, 10,000 fans means we get to see the trailer!

  • Free Energy is real and its here but the coverup is strong, if u are interested in a REAL free energy machine then

just go to LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM and download the blueprints ,it is probably the ONLY working magnet

motor out there. Join the free energy revolution!!

  • This is how you know alex jones & all those other conspiracy nuts are full of it, because THIS is a real conspiracy! But they wouldnt talk about it? why? probably because they all their goal is to be anti-government to pull people to the right... Alex jones wants you to be right wing(even if he says differently)

  • i want apologize for crowding up these comments. just some idiot with nothing to do then hate, likes to troll. the guy is like almost 50. it just very sad...

  • SOME OLD ENGINEER ALTERED HIS PRIUS TO RUN ON 99MILES BY THE GALLON. IT WAS ON THE NEWS. ALSO, DOES ANYONE KNOW THAT RECENT MOVIE WHEN FORD STEALS A CAR DESIGN?

  • @RevelationWarriors .....................hypocrite. Go have another bong hit, man. Where do you think all the shit you buy in the stores come from? Planes, trucks, delivery vans,....yet you still buy all the stuff you need, including your computer and the electricity to run it(likely made by burning coal or fossil fuel). Meanwhile good ol Al Gore, your hero, is banging his mistress...another hypocrite. Man up and buy a muscle car,pussy....do a burnout and relax, man.

  • Comment removed

  • @RevelationWarriors ---suck the snot out of my fuck-stick, you annoying little pansy-ass fruit. You are an illiterate, childish simpleton trying to pose as something he is not(a nice, caring, educated person) You are a dipshit---lick my chili-ring and die, cunt.

  • Comment removed

  • @RevelationWarriors sounds more like your stretched-out gay asshole trying to fart. You are pathetic. Live by your words and go out into the abyss and use no energy...walk the walk. You are a hypocrite. You are also a nerdy pickle-kisser.

  • @misterwhitefolkz Al Gore is fakester & a hustler like any politician! BUT that doesnt mean EVERYBODY in the green movement is! if you did ANY research you WOULD know that if you take mile per mile carbon out put even WITH coal, the carbon out put is SO much lower it makes your statement absurd

  • @benympls -----it takes way more resources to ---build a shitbox full of batteries, charge the batteries, recycle the old batteries-----than it is worth! Just buy an old, existing car and restore(recycle) it if you want to really have a positive affect on the environment. This whining,crying,drama-queen sniveling pussy tree-hugging shit is pathetic.

  • @misterwhitefolkz and what are you basing this off of? in the short run producing a car requires a lot of energy but the carbon that would be saved over a lifetime GREATLY out weights it. Every animal is going to leave some sort of footprint, cows fart methane, all animals duke & elephants trample vegetation but its to the degree that we do it. your childish name calling is juvenile & if you are out of high school it is rather pathetic.

  • @benympls -----based on published research. And all research is biased, yours is biased towards your viewpoint, and mine supports my view. Electric cars may very well be the future, but only when they are a better alternative than existing vehicles. And that is way,way off. Cars replaced the horse when they were more efficient and affordable. And for the forseeable future 95% of the public get better transportation from a 100% combustion powered car. Your facts are just plain wrong.

  • @misterwhitefolkz Is that your argument?! All truth/facts are biased&their is no objective truth?! And that its the "free market" keeping electric cars from the market place?! True ignorance in its fullest! You know that Exxon mobile not only didnt pay ANY taxes but received 150 million subsidy! Big oil is 1 of the most if not the most subsidized industries we Have! Oil in an ACTUAL free market would have gas any where from 7-10 $ a gallon! i could go on&on, oil is ONLY used because of force!

  • @benympls --------wow-you really drank the kool-aid didn't you? A true pansy eco-warrior.Pure drivel. Paid no taxes?!!!! Any corporation that creates a profit is adding money to the tax system in many ways you fail to recognize. Oil in a free market would be half the price it is today!! Competition in any market will lower prices. Over-regulation and over-taxing chokes progress and causes false shortages and higher prices. Drill baby drill.

  • @misterwhitefolkz you dont believe in objective truth so it is impossible to have a debate with you. What are you talking about?! How much did they pay! Give me a number! i give you one, they've received so much in subsidies that WAY the tax payers had to pay THEM 150 million, so tell me how much did they pay?

  • @benympls ----taxes are not a zero sum game stupid, just because someone pays nothing, your tax bill is not going up.----if they created a product that was sold=sales tax. They paid employees=income taxes. They bought equipment=jobs and taxes. etc. etc. 150 million is peanuts. Subsidies? how about all my money the government uses to subsidise "green" technology?....cash for clunkers, rebates on appliances, tax credits for solar panels-you're not whining about those... true bias at it's best.

  • @misterwhitefolkz dude yu are making NO sense, the fact I BOUGHT gas & paid I PAID sales tax has NOTHING to do with their tax code! and it wasnt a 150 million totally amount of subsidies, that was how much they were paid by US the tax payers! they made 20 billion last year so 20% would be 1 billion! So really we paid them 1.15 BILLION! And NO you are RETARDED the less OTHERS PAY means THE MORE WE HAVE TO PAY! Why do you thin k their going after OUR Social Security?

  • @benympls ----if someone doesn't agree with you they make no sense....typical elitist liberal viewpoint....the government never has enough money to fund an ever-growing list of social services for people who want an ever-increasing amount of benefits....all paid for by someone else! You didn't address the "green" subsidies(no surprise there) Back to that biased viewpoint I mentioned earlier!!!...Don't get too full of yourself, you aren't half as smart as you think you are-dummy.

  • @misterwhitefolkz What a complete imbecile. You think oil companies don't get subsidies? Take you're elitist, right wing bullshit elsewhere. After that, educate yourself, it may help your clouded view a bit.

  • okay idiots just ceep on with your tahoes with the bp oil spil

  • WTF IS WRONG WITH U PEOPLE DONT U KNOW (ELECTRIC CARZ IS A WAY TO STOP GLOBAL WARMING!

  • Fuckin' oil companies... Resist Dammit ! Learn how to convert your own car into electric or hydrogen fueled car ! I'm hoping to get an electric Bicycle in a few months ! for the inside city transportations !

  • If these wouldve gone up in popularity we probably wouldnt have to be dealing with that oil spill in the gulf. the shitty effort the oil companies are doing to fix it is not nearly as much of an effort they put into shutting down the electric cars! wtf? btw gauntletofdestruction the average miles a person drives a day is 27. the range of an ev1 on one charge is 60. u also charge it at home. if ur driving 200 miles each day u need to move or buy a personal jet.

  • Rebel against Currency

  • The electric car is not reliable and has limited range.

  • if anyone had noticed big oil is investing their windfall oil profits on electric power generation so they could rip you off on electricity rates !

  • Even though electric cars are being again reintroduced they will prolly be killed again by exxonmobil and chevron. which is sad really, to think that the only thing that stops humanity from advancing is, well, humanity.

  • whoever did kill it-thank you!!!!! Fuckin sissy-ass shit. Buy a big Caddy, fill it up,burn out and cruise. What a bunch of cunts.

  • quick thought - so we harnessed steam back in the 1800's right - ok, so lets do it again with cars - once your gasoline engine heats your water tank - to produce steam - then it turns your crank - oh wait - oil rules - we are fools - sheep - cattle - we are destroying ourselves - not mammals - parasites consume consume consume - huxley

  • In the 70's BMW had advanced with their hydrogen car. "Suddenly" we did not hear anything anymore BUT BMW became a very wealthy manufacturer.

    Where came that money from?

And why is BMW just recently working on the hydrogen cars again? Is their corrupt contract over?

  • The only way to have electric cars, is to make them yourself.

    Fuck convention and governments.

  • RJD2 at the end, hell yeah.

  • The only way to have electric cars is to kill the fat, rich lawyers and oil execs.

  • vote libertarian

  • Even a hybrid, if done properly, is better than combustion power though a mechanical transmission—even without even plugging in. (There is a reason why diesel locomotives are electric hybrids.) There is less loss through an electric drive-train. And much energy can be reclaimed by regenerative braking. (The fuel and ignition systems are also a lot simpler, since driving a generator doesn't involve wildly varying speed and load.)

  • Exactly! This is the route hybrid cars should take. The combustion engine should only provide electricity, no drive-train/power-train. Electric motors for wheel power only.

  • one thing i know is that humans are stupid - we have made ourselves hostages of a crude oil climate. - sad but true.

  • ive uploaded all of this

  • cure for aids=less money being spent on medication which means the government loses money on taxes

  • Taxes aren't the problem you nut. The problem is the money that drug/medicine corporations make. Are you a moron republican?

  • This video was recommended by my professor for environmental sociology awesome I didn't know!

Thanks so much for posting and thanks to all who support this car and put the truth out there as ugly as it is!

  • the whole fuel issue is academic until they start making the cars out of carbon fiber - waaaay lighter, waaaay stronger.

  • and a great way to store all that excess carbon we have in our atmosphere. A new invention called a black phantom can extract and store carbon for up to 40000 years. As a byproduct it also produces bio gas and bio oil.

  • CANCER CURE = HEMP OIL

  • this is a clue ... you dont have to store electric energy in batterys ... Magnetic wenkel engine (overunity drive) .... store electric power in a weighted fly wheel ... you wont need nearly as much fossil fuel to power the car as you do now... Research

  • umm try hydrogen fuel cell...

  • okay i figured it out, it's RJD2 with Smoke & Mirrors which contains a sample from Marion Blacks "Who knows" !!

  • what is the music starting at 2:30? and I DO NOT mean the end music of "Marion Black" "Who knows" starting at 3:13

  • I think that it is a repeat of the start of Who Knows. This is a remix by another artist - Rjd2 Smoke and Mirrors

  • mox386 = petrol sniffer

  • sorry but I have yet to see a really good EV car. I mean 50 miles wouldnt even get me home from work. Let alon charging them for over 16hrs a night, you'd almost have to have another car and for all of that they don't make sense for the average BUSY consumer.

  • aptera

  • There's going to be many electric cars (some are already here) that can go over 50 miles. Technology is getting better and better.

  • We all killed the electric car: Because we the people-(society) fail to change our habits and stick to the addiction(internal combustion)status quo. Cheap foriegn oil is the methadone.

  • Such a great movie! Cant wait until the sequel comes out next yr.

  • theres a sequel?

im going to but a miles xs500 (highway speed)

tehre 30 000 dollars without the incentives

    coming jan of 2010

  • EXAR-1 was the original all-electric car and GM used frivolous lawsuits to bankrupt its small-business inventor. Plus the EXAR-1 got TWICE as much mileage as GM's electric car per charge, and it was bigger and sexier than ANYTHING Detroit has ever invented.

Now those fools give us the volt - which is still a hybrid that uses many of the same parts as gas-powered cars and costs 3X as much! And the EXAR-1 would have cost 5000 dollars. No joke.

  • it ws such a stupid decision. Fuels must b savd n electricity nust be used. Oils can not be generatd like electricity. It was surely the american govt. bucoz if EV1 would have been used then americans wont have any reason to take the fuels from the arabs... They will launch ev again bt only wen the arab lands wood b dried up.

  • i ride my bicycle and my car sits in a garage.

i hope one day electric cars and bio diesel cars make their way into american culture. our politicians are so greedy.

  • Fucking idiots! We need an electric car! If you guys have a chance, watch the documentary. It sure pissed the heck out of me! Drill baby drill can kiss my ass!

  • The grid will have problems only if people charge their cars together during high demand hours. If as a rule they charge their cars at night or in the morning there wont be any problems whatsoever

  • Is our electric grid capable of supporting many electric cars? Think of the failures we have had when summer temperatures are high and a lot of air-conditioners are running.

  • you will charge at night were the electricity grid waists capacity

  • Good point, but in the summer, even the nights can be hot and that may cause a problem. I like electric cars, but I think electric hybrids are more realistic for the general populace.

  • I wasn't refering to the heat btw the modern car has been developed over many decates were the electric only fiew and far between atempts.if it can do 100 miles in the 90's today with better technology special developed due to mobiles and laptop computers plus you have the next generation bateries of Lithium polymer can be achieved and the hybrids should be able to pluged

  • You did a great job on piecing this video together, GREAT!!

  • little of topic but i just wonder if someone knows the song in the end of the clip?

  • fuckin american cocksucking government, its all their fault

  • When is the general population going to wake-up the fact that government doesn't care about its people it cares about what ever makes them money and whatever the people with money tell them to care about. Look at the movies / documentaries on SHOWTIME the first one is about the credit industry and fica and how they don't follow any rules and constantly have errors on credit reports and you have to fight to correct them and the second movie is about 911 and how we were remaind to be lied to

  • Heres an idea: Get a bicycle. It uses no oil and it might solve america's fatness problem.

  • they won't get on a bike thats what they do in europe why would they do that? You know that france citizens live longer than Usa do? They eat shitty food smoke like chimneys but they do ride bikes and fuck alot. Does anyone think that maybe controlling oil prices is a way of having total power over most of the citizens?

  • ukrainatrain:

Plz enlighten us.... so what makes u think this is all propaganda..? What evidence do you have that GM is against oil depedency?

GM's paying for the lack of forsight now... Honda and Toyota is going to eat them alive... I don't pity GM, let em burn... but I feel sorry for all those left unemployed due to GM's and Exxon's greed.....

  • You're right about the lack of foresight. They depended too much on truck sales for profits. This was because of poor planning, not a conspiracy to make us dependent on oil. I present logical arguments in my previous comments:

    1. If it was possible to make a profitable EV, why doesn't anyone else try it?

    2. Gm has more models rated above 30 MPG than Honda and Toyota.

    3. GM is THE ONLY company trying to make an EV right now - the Volt.

..So I think your opinion is somewhat misinformed.

  • and toyota and honda have more models that get 40mpg than gm.

  • what will drop oil prices? A: not war, not increased production in usa whether the 'anwr' or the badlands of the dakotas; why beacause if we increase OPEC decreases. if we make mass assembly line full electric car/trucks/suvs oil prices AUTOMATICALLY drop in order to COMPETE(REMEMBER HICHSCHOOL ECONOMICS CLASS? 5 products or companies equals lower prices due to price competition, where a monopoly equals WHATEVER THEY want to charge).

  • that works if everyone was working on the same playing field but life isn't that way. Whatever starts to make a dent in using oil the oil companies will buy it up look at the battery company bought out by chevron then they say well its not working sorry> also look at retail people want cheaper and cheaper than they ship out manufacturing to China wasting more oil to ship raw materials there than buy it back

  • then WHY did they advertise with the ev1 car in a background that looked like 'POST NUCLEAR WAR'? alse they had to do to CHEAPEN PRODUCTION was move the ev1 to the cavalier/sunfires' portion of the detroit assembly line rather than the 'aston martin' style plant in california and NOT sell their share of that battery company to texaco. the ev1 articles in magazines like motortrend were no bigger than the edelbrock ads and the suburban had 5 page minimum articles.

  • I will never buy from GM again after watching the movie. I am so tired of stupidity in this country.

  • stop bringing global warming bring issues that will change things gas prices batteries electric cars should be used plug in hybrids if the us would put money into this instead of war with iraq the problem could have been solved already

  • Why should the United States be putting money into transportation technology? It is not the Federal Governments responsibility or even there right to be sticking there nose into that field. So far having them get involved in that field has raised the price of corn worldwide, raised the price of gasoline and diesel, wasted hundreds of billions of dollars on subsidies and accomplished nothing.

  • oil prices have went up because of the war if they would have spent the money on alternatives they already subsize big oil big farms they could spend the money better on new technology instead they made food prices go up by freetrade

  • Oil prices are up because of a combination of things, none of which involve the so called 'war'. And food prices are up because of subsidized corn ethanol, and higher fuel prices. Free trade has nothing to do with it, and I'll say it again. The government has no responsibility or right to be involved in alternative energy production. They will ruin it as they have ruined everything else they have touched.

  • wrong they subsidize big oil big farms big pharma they can do it to alternatives and your wrong on ethanol it is a slight thing but it is because freetrade us subsidized corn goes into mexico which makes them stop farming and all the other countries that they do so your WRONG war has made oil more expensive because the supply is under attack also they want to start a war with iran which is what a lot of people think is going to happen which effects the price big time thats bushs oil admin for ya

  • Please write in sentences. I can't understand most of what you are saying.

Corn continues to increase in price because 7.7 billion gallons of ethanol are made from it each year (2.8 gallons per bushel), effectively taking 160 billion pounds of food off the market each year, or 500 or so lbs. for each person in the United States. To put it in even more perspective, 25% of US corn is going into ethanol (This translates into just a tad over 10% of the worlds supply of corn).

  • Why would car companies want to sell a car that needs a lot less maintenance and spare parts, has a longer life span, could pay for itself in a few years and that they would have to reduce their profit margin so they could put it on market at an attractive price?

SUV's and Hummers have a way larger profit margin and that's what car companies are all about: they don't sell fuel they sell the cars that people want and that give them the most profit. Demand EV and they will put them out...

  • it is a question of efficiency and global markets.

the world is ADDICTED to oil. addiction needs to be treated over a long time. but the time is limited (global warming) before we "drink" ourselves to inebriation.

  • at 3:08 when the guy said "the big danger is that people would stop buying oil" and oil is the main reason troops are being sent to the middle east, so sad.

  • You can convert a stanard car to electric, there are companies that can do it for you, the cost is about $15-19K. Charging time is down to 10-15-minutes to 80% charge with lithium-manganese batteries from TOSHIBA. With today's GODZILLA Electronic Speed Control, and LITHIUM-MANGANESE packs, the electric car has SURPASSED I.C.

  • Rescueswimmer85 you need relly rescue... man i not understan you!

  • That is why today, companies like TESLA, and ZAP (Lotus), use Lithium battery technology, which is actuall much better than even the Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries of Stan Ovshinsky (Which CHEVRON bought the rights to, and promptly SHELVED and refused to realease large-format Nickel-metal battery packs that could be used for all-electric, high-performance cars).Electric autos outperform I.C. cars as of 2008.

  • Yeah OK, still same technology, just a different substance. You can make a machine better, but you're not changing the machine at all.

  • You hit the nail on the head, you are a prick stuntmasta. An ignorant prick. Like all technologies in a capitalistic market, they are initially expensive. However, the more they are bought and used and profits are made by the companies selling them, the more the prices go down, and more money is pumped into improving the technology. Also WTF are you talking about performance is a minimum. You do not know a damn thing about electric motors or cars. Go suck on an oil executives dick.

  • Get out of a fucking rock and realize the ignorance you spew, fucking hypocrite. Obviously have no knowledge of battery technology and how consistant it has stayed with us through out history. Go to a history book, stupid prick.

  • You have a point at one time 90% of all cars on the road were electric. but that damages our environment even more!!!!! For you retards that are confused i mean how do you get the electricity for the batteries?? Coal and gas.... But you could go the green way and spend alot of money i don't have on solar panels that im not paying for hey if you want to spend your life savings on solar panels be my guest but all im saying is electric cars damage our way of life but we do need to get of off Fossil

  • fuels

  • I don't know about which country you live in but where I am renewables is now 20% of electricity and rising. If you buy 25 sqm of fotovoltaics at 20% efficiency you can charge your car forever for free. EV's and Solar have the potencial to make cars pay for themselves in 5 years without weighing in the grid and then they are free to use...

How can you possibly beat that???

  • They just don't like it because it's just not the conservative thing to do. No wonder people who support Obama are by and large more educated. Just look at all the spelling errors conservatives make. They also are more intolerant, angry, and insulting.

  • I think you're off on the conservative theory. I think people of all political orientations would like to have a gas free car. I challenge you to find or make an electric car that is worthy of mass production. If you would like me to explain why the EV1 was not, reply and I will.

  • Actually you're right. I am on speculating that many people are against the electric car because they're conservative and against anything that smacks of tree hugging because I see no reason to oppose it, but I'm open to being wrong on this. It's just that from seeing "who killed the electric car" it seems that the electric car is very viable at 200 miles per charge for just a few bucks and 0 to 60 in 4 seconds. What else is there that I'm missing? Why can't it be massed produced?

  • it can they just never did it nor want to, the ev1 was made the same way as an aston martin. at around 17 minutes into 'who killed the electric car' the guy states that some company said 'only rich people could afford electric cars'. remember when ONLY THE RICH had air bags and anti-lock brakes?

  • The problem was and still is - lack of a good battery. 2nd gen. Ev1's range was 75-150 miles per charge (with the better batteries) only in warm states. In the northern states the range would drop in half. It's true, the powertrain is cheap and low maintenance. But the batteries are expensive and just like in laptops needed replacement (every 25-30K miles). The cost of development for GM was $80K per car. How do you expect to turn a profit at that price? On top of that, it's a 2 seater.

  • So anyway, now GM is tackling these obstacles with the Chevy Volt, but it's hard to make an electric "people's car". Check out the tesla roadster. It's on the market now and has similar characteristics to the EV1. Tesla is selling it for profit, so the price is around 100. Sure, there is a waiting list of a bunch of rich people, but they will never save enough gas to even break even. To make a diff, you need the general population to bite, and it will not happen until it makes sense financially.

  • Retards? I beg your pardon. You are making the assumption that the coal and gas needed to produce electricity will result in more pollution. Not true. Even if it were true, the solution is not to continue polluting the air, it would be to make cleaner electricity. But never mind all that. You can easily power the few dollars needed to power an electric car with solar power. Some people just don't like it because it's tree hugging and liberal.

  • It is called alternative energy sources.

  • Knock out the cussing you low-lifes!

  • Just watch the video. Electric cars go 0 to 60 in 3.9 seconds. That's faster than a Porsche or Lamburguini.

  • FUCK THIS VIDEO I LOVE PAYING 4 DOLLARS FOR GAS. FUCK ALL OF YOU THAT MAKE SENSE. I LOVE CORPORATIONS! HAL HITLER!!!

    not

  • Hey, this is even better than Chris Paine's trailer. Good Job!

  • PS: Geothermal projetec in Switzerland stopped

they were afraid it would get out of control

    Like the Magama exploding forever

  • See the 1965 Movie: CRACK IN THE WORLD, with Dana Andrews and Janette Scott.

  • stop with the conspiracy theories:

     BUILD YOUR OWN ELECTRIC CAR

    (its not that difficult)

  • Stop paying for graphics cards.

    Etch your own GPUs

  • how can I build my own electric car?

Please point me in the right direction

  • Google search GODZILLA controller. A high-current, microproccessor-controlled Electronic Speed Control/regulator for electric cars of Century-21. State-of-the Art.

  • ANY I.C. car can be converted into a faster accelerating, reliably running electric car. EVERYBODY's doing it. $4 gas is breaking us. The technology is here. 10-minute charging-time, 260-mile range. With my commute, and little errands, gigs, etc, I'd only have to do a 10-15 minute recharge once a month. GOOGLE: ELECTRIC CAR PARTS

  • search youtube for 'petrodollar' you will understand why we don't have electric cars.

  • good point if you drive a gas car your funding terrorists..wow does bush know that hahaha..

  • yes actually and he gives weapons to his friends the saudis.

  • "Car Pool (or drive electric) or you ride with Osamma"?

I'm looking for a cross-over hybrid PLUG in that gets 60 miles on a charge, would handle 90% of all driving needs in US

  • I already boycotted GM after 96. They stopped importing 6cylinder turbo cars that out performed the Corvette, so GM could sell them. The ZR1 Vette had 300Hp 16mpg. Supra, 300ZX 300hp 24mpg. Notice today you can't buy a new turbo 6cylinder. There all 4cylinder EVO. I know Porchee has one but thats not a practical priced car, or under $50K. Clinton adminastration.

  • I don't understand how you tie the Clinton administration with this. At least say what the Clinton administration did to prevent imports. I know they gave China most favored nation status, but that did not take it away from Europe.

  • A old Turbo mag had a article. Explaining why the 300ZX, Supra and simular cars were stopped importing in 96.Clinton did something like signing a bill or something; stoping the import of the RWD 300HP+ cars. Said it was to bail GM out of bankruptsy. In RE we call that STEARING and its a form of fraud. Taking away options to stear you towards one.

  • Then killing the electric vehicle was clearly steering business away from EVs (where everything but the battery and the ac inverter for the motor) has already been invented to a doomed technology - hydrogen, where there is a green field full of high tech intellectual property to help enforce monopolies.

  • In the meantime, car makers and oil companies can continue status quo knowing full well that hydrogen is not viable due to efficiency losses in creating the hydrogen, size problems in storing it, and more efficiency losses in burning it. Hydrogen is great for launching rockets, but not as a chemical battery.

  • Go to lionev website. 100% Electric Vehicle. EV Sedan or SUV or Truck. About $30K. Max tested range 456 miles per charge.

  • Electric cars are alive and well, just visit EVtransPortal (dot com) there are over 300 electric vehicle company websites linked there. You can now buy an all electric conversion smart car, Mini Cooper, PT Cruiser, Crossfire, EV Porsche, or order an Aptera that comes in either all electric or hybrid, the hybrid gets over 200mpg!

  • Everybody research EESTOR.

  • AHH the little car is so cute I want one so bad!! damn people taking my car away!!

  • Odd that all of the car companies destroyed the cars at about the same time The plug was pulled for all of them.

  • It's really interesting isn't it? Watch the film and you will understand the linchpin event in the California legislature. And, you will understand why Schwarzenegger was so eager to drive his H2Hummer, but has quit driving it since.

  • I agree

  • wah wah wah.. if you really cared you'd do something about it. But we don't.. Oh I have to go a new MTV CRIBS is on!

  • Yeah this address a serious issue I want to do something about it but have no power and other won't do nothing about it cause they have no power, so we can all just relax and let it slide...

  • It's their objective to make you feel powerless and put back in your place. One of the things we can do is vote the bastards out of office with our votes and dollars. I won't buy a car from the big three, ever. Make your next car a 100+ MPG plug-in hybrid.

  • Perhaps you can find an EVA chapter near your home that is eager to help you convert a vehicle to electric or convert a hybrid into the best of both worlds - a plug-in hybrid (PHEV)

  • no i'll stick to my honda cuz im asian

  • This is a ridiculous comment. I love Hondas and Toyotas. I own one. The best hybrids are Asian. Someday soon, Honda will make a plug-in hybrid for you.

  • and that's a ridiculous statement, hybrids are just bullshit (they still need GAS)the EV1 didn't if they could do it then they could do it now ,,it's all to do with money and it seems like you people like paying ,,your very smart NOT...........

  • No, I said plug-in hybrid. The advantage is that you can uses it as an electric car for as long as your batteries last, which is about 40-60 miles and then you have a gasoline engine that can take you on a long trip.

You can drive a Plug-in Prius Hybrid and never need gas if you limit your trips to the 40-60 miles before your battery is empty.

  • the thing is... if you can have an electric car back then why not now (it's money all money, who gives a shit about global warming eh! if that really exists)hybrids are bullshit ..manufacturers know they have to do something ,,but guess what you still need gas and your paying $15.000 more for the car..

  • Are you a jew?

  • I'd like to know where you source your very dodgy "facts" from, random0815

  • This was made before the documentary film that Al Gore worked on. And this film shows some blame going to Bill Clinton and his group. Funny fact: you should watch it before you critic it.

  • I watched the film and the Bush administration, Arnold Schwarzenegger and a bunch of California insiders were interested in killing the electric car so they could promote Hydrogen cars with Shell oil. W. Bush still promises to veto the CAFE standards in Congress right now.

  • To improve fuel economy, Germany simply raised the price of gas with this surcharge which went up 2 percent each year. It sent the signal that gas was not getting cheaper. By 2004, fuel consumption had dropped by around 7 percent from 1999 levels; 6 percent more Germans were riding public transport; and cars with nearly 80 miles per gallon fuel efficiency hit the market. Yes, 80 mpg.

  • I hear ya milo and I'm right with you.

  • Electric cars are available now. You can purchase one from several independant manufacturer, you can buy a converted gas car, you can buy a kit to convert your gas car, you can guy a plug in kit for your hybrid or you can wait for a year or two as the big auto manufacturers bow to public pressure and make their gas drinkers plug in capable. If you really care, put your money where your mouth is and support these products now -therenewableenergyrevolution

  • How does this only have 15,878 views, I named a video this to attempt exposing this video...

  • I dont understand this notion of "If america doesnt do it we shouldnt". Bring them cars over to england and see how successful they will be....do u think people enjoy paying congestion charge? Plus if the creator of the cars looked a little spooked...its obvious sumone spoke to him from the government. if he duznt want anything to do with them...fuk him....ill take the reigns

  • GM never wanted you to buy the EV1. They never allowed you to buy the car it was only on leases. All the reason's in the movie is why you dont see electric cars on the road. The EV1 was the car everyone wanted and GM didnt want you to have that? They spend a billion dollars on a car and that they didnt want to make a profit of it. GM your doing the same technology with the Volt then what you did with the EV1.

  • GM needs to bring back the awesom electric car called the EV1. Go to wikipedia to check out the EV1 and watch the film called, "Who killed the electric car". Youtube doesn't allow URLs, so I'm tweaking the URL, but here's where you can ask them to bring it back:

add to w's to the beginning and change DOT to a .
