I hate the new chargers, they look like shit and don't even come in a two-door. That being said, I think most re-built and/or beefed up old school muscle cars would wipe the floor with the new ponies, they were made of steel but most of them were lighter(i.e. old novas, camaros, mustangs, darts, dusters, challengers, barracudas/cudas, and even the '69 and '70 chevelles were the same weight as a new mustang). When it comes to 50's, 60's and 70's muscle though? Mopar was out ahead, by far.

Ran a machine shop, did everything myself, learnd alot from some (oldtimers). watched ur vid close, I'll share a tip with you. You are loosing some inertia with your pinion angle, shim your springs so the pinion gear is loaded. Staged it's got a straight line with trans. traction bars snubbed, lifting slack staged
@rebelbike21 Yes, u may need a friend to help check it. With someone in the car, try and power brake to your stageing rpm. Carefully,lol, look at pinion angle, make sure it is snubbed tight to bump stop under car, should be straight with trans, traction bars snugged to spring eye. Usually, stationary about 3% down on pinion will work, try angle finder on pin.yolk, if in line power brakeing, traction bars should be snugged to body, may have to trim snubbers. Staged, car should raise up preloaded.
@mskid68 Also, if useing solid body mounts (46.99 from jegs) and frame connectors, should see better 60 foot times. I never use anything but Competition Engineering J-bolt traction bars, about 170.00.(jegs) they always worked the best for me. I've always been a backyard engineer (poor boy) haha. But with this set up I could hook up as good as my friends with a 4-link, and never had to keep makeing adjustments, just make my runs and enjoy the races, while they worked on theirs. less ci. better60s

Do you think it makes a difference that the charger weighs about 4,250 pounds with him in it?? All things being equal....but they're not. The Nova is much lighter. I own a 2008 Charger, and a 1969 Nova and I love them both. The Nova smokes my Charger all the time.

The thing this jackass doesnt understand is that this is a drag race.
No matter what runs against what, you dial what you think your car will run. You get that number from your time runs before the elimination round.
His times were 14s and mine were 12s so he gets a 2-second head start. Everything else being equal, we should reach the finish line at the same time.
It doesnt matter. Ive had to line up against 10-second MODIFIED cars. Sometimes I win sometimes I lose.
