Hey awesome vid man. Ive been watching some of your videos because i have family in Okinawa but never got to see the car scene there sadly. I was wondering what were the specs on your motor like how much you were boosting and if you had any problems with it. Was it daily driven? I was thinking about getting a SR'ed 240sx but wasnt sure if i should do a swap plus i live in Hawaii so i would have to ship parts.

@ik30n3r The car scene in Okinawa apparently is not what it used to be. (that's what my friends have been saying) That 180sx was my daily driver. It was last dynoed at 395rwhp. I went through a stock motor about every 18 months, but they were cheap to replace over there. I raced it a lot, too. Just kept putting on bigger turbos and seeing what it could take. This iteration was somewhere over 400hp.

@zeroyon Wow almost 400...thats too much for me. I just wanted probably around 275 - 290rwhp but dont know how to build it. Would you have any ideas? Any would help a lot.

@ik30n3r That's easy to pull off. 300-350hp on an SR is a lot of fun to drive and very reliable. You need to get on the Nissan forums and start doing some research. There's lots of info out there, and Youtube comments aren't the best place to get it. Try out the different 240sx forums.

@mysrt4303 They imported some of them each year. They weren't very popular with the Japanese, probably mostly because they were only left-hand-drive.

@mysrt4303 They were sold there, just not built there. They only sold a few hundred a year, and like 75 in the last year they imported them. The car was built for Americans by Americans. Not much of a hit in Japan.

Because what you can hear is the wastegate. When you have an open wastegate, the turbo is way to quiet to be heard. Go to about 2:24 in the video when I line up with the 450hp Eclipse GSX. You can hear my wastegate go through 5 gears. Thats a T04S pushing 400hp+ on that setup. (last dynoed 395rwhp)

Yeah, there were a lot of them. They're pretty expensive to make fast, so a lot of guys stuck with the Silvia/180sx instead.
