  • Fat Joe feat. Chris Brown sampled that classic jam in 'Another Round'

  • Fat Joe Ft Chris Brown

  • @casear3 They sample this song

  • MAN I REMEMBER HAVING THIS ON VHS...EN VOUGE SANG ON THIS TOO

  • The singer that sounds like JG I think his name is John John .I took a picture with him and Reggie they were so fine .Im still mad at Steve tho he said he couldn't be in the picture because his girlfriend was there and would'nt like it . What the deal I had to pay them $10 . I still have my photo and I love it.

  • Dang! Whatever happened to Donnie Simpson?! This was my song back in the day. I think I was in high school! And I just found my other favorite song from them,"Still In Love". I had to go through hell and high water to find that song lol

  • Im still using lines from dis song. Fat Joe feat. Chris bron sampled dis song.

  • yes steve baby! sing to me!

  • Tyboogie-I had this in the middle."still in love"had a better intro. Followed that with "funny how time flies" by Janet. Still works on the wife.

  • Doccandie, no doubt, I liked their debut (with"still in love &"mamacita") as well. Sorry for the name typo, on my Android with Swype. Does what it wants sometimes.

  • This was the first song on my booty jams tape.....

  • Deflowered- JGill was on his 2nd solo CD when Troop came out.

  • @dvs70 i was just saying was that jgill in disguise, but he does sound like him.. anyway troop is the best.

  • Their best song. I brought the album just for this one song. Great song!!!

  • @MrBmic

So did I, even though the whole tape was bangin'...

  • Best days

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!

  • Damn that was a song to slow dance to WOW

  • I always like this song

  • I love this shit!!!! A classic!!! They just don't make music like this anymore..... They really need 2 bring it back....

  • that my shit

  • they are so much better live

  • Yup this is was produced by Chili's baby's daddy (i.e. Dallas AUstin) and the lead singer and producer of Klymaxx. Hot wreckord.

  • old school at it's best!!!!!

  • sing it to me baby! (steve)

  • Love this song..... memories.

  • give it to me baby! (stephen)

  • Johnny g stole Johnjohn from troop style

    An d ran with it

Johnny g was never a main vocalist in N.e

John from troop at least had a whole versus

But they both have deep vocals tho and both wee great at what they do

    RedlowMusic

  • @redloweyes first of all johnny gill was out since the late 70s so how could he still my man style, i love troop but myu man john john cant se johnny gill you better check jg resume

  • Damn! Their haircuts are fucked up!

  • @steb0ne

It called the style of the day...like those whack ass skinny jeans the young boys are wearing now.

  • dame this song bring back so many memories

  • 1st props to the great donny simpson, CLASSIC. man what happened to groups like troop, ready for the world, dreamboy, silk, jodeci, new edition, shalamar, guy, ect? with the exception of a few artist today, there are no more great groups, great voices, great beats, great lyrics ect. it's all auto tuned, plastic ass beats, shitty lyrics, & no singing artist. it's all about image today.they want women with big asses, nice breasts, pretty faces, & half naked, fuck talent. thats why i kept it old school.70's-90's.

  • These guys can straight SANG! They are among the best vocalists of the past 25 years. They lacked the longevity of some acts but they were more successfull than most. I saw them live on the campus of Va. State University back in the summer 1989. They blew the place away!

PLEASE enjoe these wonderful postings folks. Thank GOD for Youtube; it's all over now. THERE ARE NO MORE GROUPS OR BANDS IN POPULAR BLACK MUSIC!!...name one. There is very little talent these days and WE accept it!

  • dang sound like Johnny Gill staring off, dang where are they now

  • The short one is my FAVORITE!!!!

  • OMGGGGG!!!!! I LOVE THIS SONG TOO

  • I love this song!

  • I rather listen to the video. I hate when singers over power and try to out shine one another.

  • I never realized how much that guy that sung first and Johnny Gill sound alike!!! The beginning sounded just like Can You Stand The Rain!

  • @jewelinwideawake i swear !!!!

  • @jewelinwideawake

yeah, that's cause he just stole Johnny's live intro to Can You Stand the Rain when he sings it live. If you listen to a live performance of NE's "Can You Stand the Rain", Johnny starts it off like that. This dude stole from Johnny! Very un-original

  • @krucial1313 I doubt if he stole anything from Johnny's live version. They were out at the same time. Now if Troop had come 10 years behind Can You Stand The Rain, then I might agree with you.

  • this song brings chills, when think of the days this song was out.

  • @dbmstoy i thought i only did that... weird rite,... its a wonderful song thou....

  • I Love this song

  • S*** THAT MAN SOUND LIKE JOHNNY GILL IN THE BEGINNING!!! DAYUM I LOVE ME SOME TROOP! AN UNDER RATED GROUP, DUE TO THE OVER SHADOWING OF N.E.! SRY BUT I HAD TO TO SAY....I'M A DIE HARD N.E. FAN, BUT GROUPS LIKE TROOP & SHAI ...GROUPS THAT COULD ACTUALLY SING AND HARMONIZE WERE OVER SHADOWED BY N.E.

  • Oh shit! Is that Donny Simpson from Video Soul?

  • My official wedding song one day?????!!!!!

  • Bring back Video Soul!

  • so sexy!

  • Man I love this song

  • i will most def play at my wedding

  • The mothafucking shit!

  • got damn! sang that shit troop.....one the best songs of all time!

  • The harmonies in this song are best! I can listen to this song for hours!

  • wow I miss donie simpson, B.E.T. went downhill when he was let go. :'(

LOVED this song. Poeple forget all about these guys, but they were those dudes back then.

They, to me, are one of the best groups ever, along with Jodeci, Dru Hill, etc.

  • i love my age and my times . i wouldnt change a thing about what made us real ones real SAVE THE MUSIC!

  • Comment removed

  • thi ong makes e wnna cry there voices were so pretty

  • @chocl8adoniz I wasn't one of those who slept on this song...I was making out to it though ;-)

  • I love this song!!! Team troop.

  • this was their best song off that album back in1990

  • This was my favorite song by Troop.

  • Nice performance. Love the song. There were some spots somewhat. But, that's the beauty of a 'live' show and some ol' 'lip-synced' garbage that still make this performance cool! Go Troop!

  • Which one of them produced songs for Chris Brown?

  • And he was singing like that on Troops first album (this was second album) and that album out before "Heartbreak" (Gills first album with New Edition) So wouldnt say he was copying Gill`s style. Do sound alike though.

  • Hung out with these guys in Windsor, one of the greatest albums ever!!! Next album was also good, but no air play? Then next album was terrible after one of them left and. One of the greatest albums ever!! Was my buddies wedding song!

  • Back then it was about the music not about looks or this bubble gum pop like it is today. Bring back the music!!!!

  • THATS MY SHIT!

  • Yes, I remember EnVogue die "Better Part of Me", a rare performance of that jam...wish you had it :-(

  • They should not have taken off Video Soul. Can't get any good videos anywhere. This is one of my favorite Troop songs.

  • i had their cassette tape, this was my song!

    miss these days

  • Thanks for posting this. I used to LOVE this song! I was soo in love with Allen.

  • I am so in love with this song....I loved it when I was 16 and I love it today. This performance is INSANE...these guys were acutally singing...before the big lip synch wave in the late 80's.

  • EPIC

  • Today's music 2000 till now will never compare to those before. Thank goodness for true music. Right on for the post. Peace to the old school and classic music. Today's music will not be played in 30 years. Guaranteed.

  • Go troop!!!:)

  • they all weren't the cutest but those voices were beautiful!!!

  • Boy this song right here says it all.....this is when brothas wasnt embarassed to show and tell a lady how they felt and actually song about somethin other than cuttin somethin, rims money and all that there. I tell you one thing though the music game won't ever be the same. I'm gone bring back the lead singer's hair cut........man stoppp...lol

  • @charlesb83 You are damn right!!! Seem like we never going to get back to match the 90/80s when R&B was about love and meaning

  • This song got me laid back in the day! I can sing the hell out of it! HAHAHA!

  • Dis that real shit right here

  • F**K Auto Tune!

  • Nothing like the 90's

  • I used to LOVE troop this song and spread my wings (original version)

  • I thought I was the only one really feelin' this! My Favorite song on the "Attitude" C.D. Also this is one of my all-time Classic Ballards. The #1 Sleeper Slow Jam of the New Jack era.

  • @ cbwoggie1...i was too young to enter the club..but i was in high school tho....these slow songs would also be a rnb groups 1st or 2nd single and slow song radio play was very common back in the glory days...todays music always gotta have some verse of getting some woman outta the club into homeboys crib and whatever, lol

  • Boy, this was THE SHYT!!!!!! I promise you this is one of my favorite slow jams of all times.

  • what about Chris Bender

  • @3rogueS

right on,the only other vocals that compares to TROOP is Chris Bender(rip)

  • One the best era of music that's lost of harmony, singing and love jam. Remember back when you heard slow songs at club throughout the night!!

  • Ain't that the truth.

  • 4:26???

  • Donny Simpson, LOL man where are you now???

  • So many people slept on "I will always love you", I swear it's going to be my wedding song one day. One of the Most beautifuls ever song.

  • @chocl8adoniz That will be mine also...you have good taste

  • @chocl8adoniz it's funny you say that, this actually was one of my wedding songs(along with "Overjoyed" by Stevie Wonder

  • @chocl8adoniz if i ever get married mine too.. very few songs come close to this one. the words ,, well put together vocals..my 40 yrs on this planet this song is in my top ten, hands down

  • @chocl8adoniz I remember growing up my sister saying that this was going to be her wedding song , and on Aug 5 2006 , her dream came true! This song was her and her husbands 1st dance. I hope you get your dream as well :)

  • I have forgotten how good this song was

  • Man, what GREAT memories this song brings back.

Great but hard memories, my first love and I listened to Troop & Johnny Gill all the time.

Summer of 1990 & 1991 were a couple of the best of my lifetime.

  • bad azz tune

  • TROOP can just downright SING their buttz off. I Love these guy's. Such Unique Voices!!

  • Troop, was so good, they just lacked an image.

  • LoL....I have exact same orignal tape recording too.....all i keep thinking at the time was the looked perfect for a "sprite" commercial....like Kid n Play...with those colors they were wearing..

  • My man getting his johnny gill on. This was my favorite group after New edition and before Jodeci.

  • i never noticed that until now but you are so right. he is getting his j gill on

  • these guys are better than all these new hip hop artists combined.

  • (shaking head left to right - right to left, eyes closed) damn. "close your eyes and make three wishes...." Classic. Now it'll be stuck in my head for a week. Love this song. Forgot about it until just now.

  • @nyccy78 yeah u wasnt the only one

  • donnie, and video soul.. those were the good ol days.. i miss htem

  • Man I love songs like this that take me back to the late 80's and early 90's. I always say 1988-1993 were some of the best years of my life so far just cuz of TV shows, clothes, and MUSIC! just like this! Viva Troop!

  • they sound horrible. thats why they didnt last and i love troop digitally mastered

  • Didn't last? They're still performing you idiot! And they still sound great!

  • Umm...what? They sound great! Now I think that the guy who sings the baritone part has a messed up microphone, but even with the jacked up mic, he doesn't sound horrible.

  • I was like in 3rd or 4th grade when this was out. I have ALWAYS loved this song. Man what happened to groups that could REALLY sing.

  • This really takes me back to 8th grade! lol! check out the haircuts and outfits! those were the days. The way the lead singer started the intro on "i will always love you" sounded a little like Johnny Gill sings when "Can you stand the rain" comes on... Thanks for posting

  • SING IT YAWLL!!!!
