So what would keep Iran, Syria, and Turkey from crossing the borders to claim land and oil under the guise of national security. Have you thought of what a destabilizing effect an event of this nature would have? If you take the people out of Iraq, the Saddam supporters will go and create way more chaos and kill more ppl in Iraq and the problem will be worsened. You see, the war in Iraq right now is turning and becoming more of a war between radical Muslims against themselves, shieat vs sunni vs al-qaeda. So, right now is the best time for US to withdraw its troops because those people are failing to sit down and talk things out for the sake of their country.

Obama's publicly stated he'd attack targets in Pakistan, the 2d largest Muslim nation, without the consent of the Pakistani government. That sounds like widening the war in Afghanistan to me, and doing it with the country where our supplies for the troops in Afghanistan all come through.
