  • phhaaarrrrkkkkk

  • i crossed the line at a 67 one time:/ but rate has nothing to do with speed

  • dude 626 sucks. im in hong kong and i have my teammates at 68 kilos pulling 640 somethings. if ur a open catergory rower u need at least 610

  • soo clean

  • @Haydizzler I don't follow Kg's because I live in America and we choose the more complicated unit of weight. And I know all too well because my 4 last year had the strongest boat average by 15 seconds. Sadly, I was the only only at 175, the rest were 210 and above. I judge power form weight and erg score, not just erg scores, cause they don't float.

  • holy shit serious slide control...

  • whats the name of the music mate?

  • At 33 seconds to 49 seconds= awesome, gives me goosebumps.

  • A right beautiful bit of rowing there

  • I went in an eight for the first time today and i absolutely loved it. Its one of my favourite boats, although sadly were not as good as this :(

  • @BrooksieLad95

    I was on 8 when i learning

    now i row on 2- :D

  • thats amazing how after that high rate at the start they immediately get down to an 18 like a snap of the finger

  • no doubt...some serious slide control there....great footage...

  • @Dillonnnnnnnnnn Seriously... holy shit. That is incredible

  • what's the song at the start?? :)

  • It's from the movie Fifth Element

  • They are good. Really good. My stroke rate is a good 46 at full speed and power. But, they make it look so easy.

  • uh who cares how high you can row?? do you really think that has anything to do with speed?

  • It was to show that they make it look easy. I know that. Speed to me is only good for sprints. I'm a cox so settle down ok.

  • If you're a cox how can you even refer to it as 'your stroke rate'.

  • @22512587 actually it does...

you cant really row an eight below 35 ...

then you can see the difference of crews who row 36 and who row 38...

btw we are talking about good crews who know how to row, not about some bad seniors...

  • @TabooxKiller actually it doesn't.

Different crews are more efficient at different rates.

For example, my school had a boat a few years ago that dominated Eastern Sprints. They settled at 34, every race. Sure, they could sprint at 50+, but they were best with heavy rigging and rowing low.

  • @22512587 well if you arent too strong you need to have a higher rate, dont you?

look at the canadians in the 4- 2004 olympics, they were weaker than the british, but they almost beat them...

  • @TabooxKiller Quote from the commentators during the Athens Mens 8+ final "The're only at 35 strokes per minute". He was talking about the USA 8+, who was winning by a length at the time, and crossed the line first.

Its not all about rate, the French 2X of 2004 rated lowest out of the top 3 crews to win it.

  • YEAH! at the start ... just like they were doing

  • @22512587 Yes it does you twat. If they can rate at a high rating and still have pressure they will go faster than putting in the same amount of pressure but at a lower rating.

  • @22512587 if you're talking about 'rate', then yes actually ahhahaha

  • @rbkhockey1313 Actually wrong. You get to a point where you're just "spinning your wheels"

  • @bjbjbzz true, but try rowing a 2k at a 28 vs a 34 and tell me who would win. rate matters. it's simple. you get more strokes in a race

  • @rbkhockey1313 Well no shit at that low, that guy was obviously talking about high stroke rate at a 46.

  • @bjbjbzz when you have rowers that are capable at higher rates, you will always see them using that to their advantage. if you 'spin your wheels' at high rates, why do boats do starts? huhhh maybe I should get my 8 to row into our next race, you know, get used to everything. we wouldn't want our wheels to spin

  • @rbkhockey1313 Now you're just trying to be a prick. Every boat has a point where it's "spinning it's wheels" Every boat is different and moves most effectively off the start at a certain rate. Going above this rate is spinning your wheels. You don't have to be such a condescending asshole just because you're anonymous on youtube.

  • @bjbjbzz hahah cool it bro. you started it with your sassy "actually wrong'' comment.

  • @rbkhockey1313 Ugh, not surprised coming from a Canadian.

  • @bjbjbzz aw you took the time to visit my profile, i'm flattered. keep poundin' those burgers ya hillbilly. hopefully you guys get a little better at rowing as well

  • @rbkhockey1313 Yeah my strategy for getting down to my current PR of 6:26 is an abundance of Mcdonalds. And high school wise, and college wise, which I'm more concerned with right now, the United States embarrasses Canada. Your Jr national team couldn't even conquer a few of my friends that were in the USA eight that got gold this past summer. Get off your high horse Canada, you're only good at the top level.

  • @bjbjbzz nice essay man. braggin about PR's? aha mine is a 6:37 and I weigh 144 pounds. I dare you to go to C2 website and do the erg score conversion to water. your heavy ass won't go anywhere on the water. Heavyweights on my team go sub 6, or just over 6. like seriously I know 14 year olds faster than you

  • @rbkhockey1313 Woach that explain a lot, you're a lightweight. Sorry bro, I only talk to the big boys.

  • @bjbjbzz you are NOT a 'big boy' if you pull a 6:26 believe me ahahahaha

  • @rbkhockey1313 Yeah you're right I'm only 175 pounds and 18. I mean it's big enough to get me a pretty good ride to college. But whatever you say lighttttt hahahahah you and your powerhouse 6:37 is really intimidating ahhaha woah woah thats almost as fast as the sophmores on my team...almost.

  • @bjbjbzz i know it's been a while but just to let you know my university teams hvyweight standard is 6:24. you didn't even make the first cut haha. and what was that you were saying? "i only get fucked by the big boys up the asshole" yeah,....

  • @bjbjbzz Just saying the US doesnt have the greatest olympic rowing team in the world and im pretty sure Canada is better than US. And its for the exact reason that they are better and we arent the greatest is because we are the fattest country in the world and people like you think they are amazing with PR erg scores of 6:26

  • agreed. that was amazing. im eager to see what their stroke rate was before they lengthened

  • probably 45-46

  • Comment removed

  • im bigger than bo hansen

  • wow! that is amazing!!

  • woo uts

  • this was a good 8+ !
