Did you remix yourself??? Where can I find it I LOVE IT!!! The Vocals especially are separated much better than the original! Is there any way you could make an acapella version?
Rogers smile at 3:30 says it all about this song! The notes he and Freddie hit were HIGH!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a band.. what friends.... what music.. what talent... what a loss. God Bless Queen! RIP Freddie you are loved as well are your bandmates.
@Bradsldunn well brian did say on the documentary making a night at the opera that it could have been a single and that a part of him wish that it had, i think it was released as a B side to your my best friend though, im not sure about that
Listen to those voices blend!!! Is there any doubt Queen collectively had the best voices! Roger and FREDDIE made those notes seem so easy :) By the way..Queen was freakin awesome musically as well..!
This is an amazing video. The clips of Freddie along with Brian May performing, and the space pictures are really well put together. It makes the song even more powerful and beautiful. I love it. <3 :)
@legendarykurenai I need to shut up? What, are you just going around to videos I've commented on and telling me to shut up? Well. . . then. . . I'm just going to go cry for a little while. THEN I'll have something to say back to you!
This song by itself is incredible, but this montage AND what happened in Queen makes it even more powerful. It really feels like he is singing to Freddie when he says "don't you hear my call, though I'm many years away". Like he's looking back at his past, and wonder if the people back then are aware of the fact that he's thinking about them. Of course, it's just a science fiction story, but I can't help relating it to Freddie's premature death, for no particular reason.
Find it hard to believe that 3 people listened to this and disliked it. Because I don't like calling people moranic cretons I will give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they hit the wrong button!
you guys are just babies, you have to with the flow. A very old saying but if you like it , it moves you, and this is a good thing. Music is so powerul and hopefully for good. Go with the happy vibe.
Look at Freddie at 2:58 - 3:05, so very dramatic... Ha ha, thats why we love him! God, such a great group, versatile, great, and they basically invented the sports anthem. You went too soon Mr Mercury, way too soon... Long live the QUEEN!
I can't listen to this song without Brian on lead. This song was made for him to sing. I miss Freddie, though, there was no frontman like Freddie. R.I.P. Freddie Mercury
I knew that this song was recorded on the album in the key of G# but I assumed that Brian had a capo on the first fret, but I see on this video that his guitar was actually tuned a half step sharp. Curious minds wonder why? This is my favorite Queen song and I think it sounds best with Brian on lead vocal altough I'm not sure how often he sang lead on it in concert settings.
It always sounds better with Brian singing. Freddie was a hell of a singer, but Brian always did better of some leads. "Sleeping on the Sidewalk" too. There are probably a handful of songs that I would rather hear Brian sing lead on. This is your favorite Queen song? It's right up there with mine too;)
There are two different concerts being used here...look how much older Brian looks during the verses compared to the young Freddie/what you can see of Brian. He probably has to sing it in a lower key these days, so he might've just been playing in standard tuning, since this seems to be taken from a Queen+PR show, then overdubbed with a SPECTACULARLY mixed studio cut of the song.
that's what the rolling stone magazin said about brian on #39 (funny coincidence). most of the other guitarists would have been blewn away by freddie, but brian managed it to bring himself in the foreground.
This is such an underappreciated pop song-the melody and the words are gorgeous, mournful and longing...It far outclasses so much of what is considered good songwriting these days. Just beautiful. And yes, the clips of Freddie intersperced with Brian's performance choke me up...Don't you hear my call though you're many years away...
I like it how it starts with Brian playing at a concert and then it shows clips from the past with Freddie. That only makes me miss him more. i love this song. Great guitar and vocals Brian! Freddie i miss you with all my heart. rest in peace and sing for God! God bless Queen.♥ only true talent that i am exposed to these days.
" A Night at the Opera" and Geoff Wayne's " War of the Worlds" all in the space of a few years. Now thats how you shake up the music world.Rest in peace Freddie.
Saw Queen with Paul Rodgers recently they did this song. Brian May sang this it was so awsome i got goosebumps! That was a once in lifetime experance.I also saw Queen in about 1980,do not remember if they did this one.I of the best live bands of all time.

This version is slightly different than the album version, right ? Brian's voice and John's contrabass are very louder (and so is Roger's falsetto !)

ya but if you ever hear bruce dickenson (Iron Maiden lead singer) he goes crazy with the audience...
"who the fuck is throwing icecubes on the stage? last night i fell 7 fucking feet, and it fucking hurts..."
FYI, give iron maiden a chance, im a huge queen fan, and still like Maiden and Queen...
