  • Is there anyway to bypass without compromising the onstar? I used the pac os2 adapter to retain onstar and chimes, and also used swi-ps to retain steering wheel controls, so... I was just wondering if there was a way to bypass the unit without switching over the wire since that compromises onstar.

I tried the toggle switch, but it doesn't work for when car is moving greater than 5 mph or so, because it recognizes that the wiring was done incorrectly. Thanks for the help, videos are great.

  • hey, do you need to put a switch on this after its been bypassed? or just re locate the mute wire and ground? no switch involved?

  • it work like a champ good job

  • how much money does the workers get? how much do you get payed for each car? anybody know?????

  • The yellow/black mute wire - should the other end be connected to anything? Right now this connects to some brown wire that comes out of the onstar adapter for my car.

  • Yeah that awesome I just picked up that Z110BT but my question is when you have completed the bypass will you get a msg on the screen saying you made an incorrect connection at the park brake lead??? I only say this still have my X710BT and just only grounding the Green wire I had that msg come up.

  • Thank you!!! Works on my AVIX-X920BT. The pin is very easy to remove on it. Just push in the pins on the sides of the harnes and lift the top latch. Pin comes right out. Be carefull not to let the other wires fall out while the latch is open.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH! Worked for me. I did not want to cut the connector and I noticed on One side of the plug it looked like there was a plastic insert. I took a safety pin and inserted in the corner of the plastic insert. I was able to pry up the one end of the plastic retainer and it relished the yellow wire and pin that I wanted to take out. After the pin was out I pushed the plastic retainer back in and the put the yellow pin in the connector second hole over. Wired as told and the radio works

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH

  • can i change the color of the map on this unit like lines and highways ???

  • what is the purpose of the yellow wire, like it's main function?

I had my brake bypassed, but the video still shuts off when the car hits the 20mph mark. Guessing the GPS senses this and stops playback. Any help would be appreciated

  • Hi

Yeaaaa, works on my AVICX920BT , I get to pulled the cable out, but after I did it, I can't plug the cable back in the second hole, so I realize that you can just make a bridge which a extracable, and ground it with the green and black wire.

Now, I can drive without get the warning.

    Thanks..

  • I was able to by pass the deck but as soon as I go above 10mph the by pass does not work with the gps pluged in. But if I unplung the gps it works fine. Is there a way to bypass it with the gps pluged in and still drive around

  • Thanks for the info, but I have another question. Would you happen to know if it is possible with this unit to view three cameras on one screen and still be listening to a music source. I am planning on installing 3 cameras out the back of my van and want to be able to view them on the screen while driving. Any info would be appreciated.

  • On another note, how the fuck do you guys figure this stuff out?

  • I was a little leary of trying this so in doing so I fused both the "mute" lead and the parking brake lead, worked like a charm! I did f-up the "mute" lead when trying to remove it from it's original position, I ended up sliding the wire into the second harness location without the terminal crimped to the end.

  • great vid! thanks guys, simple and to the point, perfect.

  • will this bypass the gyro sensor?

  • can u watch a dvd and listen to the ipod music @ the same time. im still usin my alpine 310 cuz it allows me to do that

  • Thank you soundmancaraudio, you are my heeeeeerrrrroooo lol

  • Ok this is useful but pretty easy to find now the real question is when is a hack or firmware update going to be released that fixes its lousy mp3/aac 2,500 file limit per storage device.

This is one of the most expensive units on the market and a $150 head unit supports 10x times as many songs on a thumb drive!!!

  • i wanna know this too

  • there is a tool that you can buy from radio shack that will get those wires out really easy. its useually located in the pullout drawers where you can buy resistors and power connectors.

  • This is worthless. Everyone knows the wire needs to move one over. But NO ONE knows how to get the damn wire out with out wrecking the harness. He obviously had the wire removed first prior... which is what everyone wants to know how to do.

  • ok i've had the avicz110 for a couple days now and i have been trying to bypass it. my problem is i can't get the yellow wire out of the harness. on this video it looks like it just pops out but i had to jerk mine out and it tore it all up and i just had to buy a new harness. is there some special way to pull the yellow mute cable out? someone please give feedback ASAP

  • it's hard to get out. just carefully pull that sucker hard!!! you might try sticking a pick in the hole to loosen it up a bit.

  • ok thanks hopefully i can get it i already broke one harness trying. can't you just take another wire and stick it in the slot and not have to pull the yellow out or does that slot have to be free for it to work? cause i tried just using a spare and sticking it in the second slot beside the yellow without pulling it out and it didn't work.

  • @soundmancaraudio

Hi, I just install avic-z110bt almost every thing working, except the text to speech. Can anyone show me how to get the text to speech to work?

    Thank you

  • @soundmancaraudio

I have the parking brake bypassed but at 10mph the GPS must shut the video down. If I pull the yellow wire and change it's slot will that fix my problem? By moving the yellow wire does that affect the functionability of anything else?

  • @tommyvaughn09

the same guy who posted this video posted one on how to get the pin out.. i did it and it worked.. just use a utility knife and cut the pin out.

look to the right of ur screen for the video on how to get the pin out labeled "Avic-Z110bt bypass pt. 2 PIN REMOVAL"

  • excellent...your the man!

  • great vid fellas

  • would u know how to bypass a Avic z2 ? is it the same as a z110bt?

  • I sent them an email asking for a video with the grounding process
